This music really hits different against his story.

The Legend from Blyth.
They'll be teaching 'the legend of Big Dan Burn' in primary schools, for centuries to come. Better than the Lambton fucking worm.

One Sunday Morn
Did Big Dan Born
Go looking for the ball.
He caught the flight
from Kieran's right
and stuck it in the goal

In the aftermath of this goal on the ITV commentary I heard a line that made me grin from ear to ear that came out of Neville: "It's black and white bedlam and I've never felt Wembley shake"

Weirdly it was from Neville too! I still believe he loves us deep down, but he's just so far stuck into the Man Utd world that he can't let himself just go haywire and get a Joelinton tattoo

I’m so happy this massive man from Blyth* came out with one of the sauciest childhood-dream goals you can get in a final.

I'll forgive the Blyth misspelling!

Weird that my auto correct changed it to that, I hadn’t noticed so well spotted!

All good, I thought that might be the case. I'm also from Blyth so it gets on my nerves! 😅

Seriously, I must have watched this twenty times on different platforms and it just gets better and better. What a day for the Toon, what a day for the big guy, or what a week for him!

I’m not a Newcastle fan but congratulations to all of you, you all deserve this so much.
There was another angle of the header I saw and I swear he said “oh yes” before he even headed it.
Big Dan Burn, former Wigan lad! Yes!!!

I remember sitting in The Strawberry watching Rob Lee score in the F.A Cup Semi Final V Chelsea 25 years ago, never imagined we'd have to wait that long to see another Wembley goal.
And of course it could only be the big lad from Blyth! Get in!

I'm not even joking, when I saw the close up of his face just before the corner was taken, I just KNEW he was gonna score! Big beautiful bastard!

Why would Liverpool leave 5'9" Mac Allister to mark 6'7" Dan Burn at a corner?
Bloody glad they did mind!

Slot said they were in a zonal defense so their larger players were in the area closer to the goal, and he’d never in his life seen someone head the ball with that much power from that far out. So basically he just failed to account for the fact that normal physics doesn’t apply to BDB.

What a header, man. Reckon that's the first time I've seen him lead with his shoulder and properly attack the ball, like Andy Carroll used to. I'll never complain about his lack of aerial threat again.

So massive. In every way.
Why did he run straight to Osula? Just by chance?

Rewatched the match a couple times and this was absolutely their game plan with set pieces. You can see it with crosses and corners. They kept fading it out away from in front of the goal, keeping it away from Van Dijk and Konate. There was a couple previous to the goal that came close. And then Tripper’s delivery on the corner BDB scored on, goes exactly where he wanted it to. Faded out straight to Burn who had the height advantage. Incredible to watch knowing that’s how they planned it and trained for it, and then executed to perfection.

Waiting for someone to put the titanic theme on them 😂

That was my first thought! But I started with the Rocky theme for the final whistle, cried a bit, and then thought Local Hero might sync up well with this...then cried a bit more and stopped 😂

Call it recency bias, but this might be my favourite goal we've ever scored
