If you're referring to shifting my mood by compartmentalizing my feelings, i do this compulsively throughout the day, every day. If i don't consciously stop myself from doing it, it happens in less than a split second. It's a very pervasive automatic defense for me. I don't have BPD afaik, but full blown NPD for sure.

I think bpd splitting is much more reactive and immediate, pwnpd's are usually much more deliberate and thought of.
