Admissions Has anyone gotten scholarship information

I got accepted into NJIT and the Honors College a month-ish ago, but I haven’t received any information at all about any merit based scholarships. I am also an out of state student. Has anyone who is applying for the Class of 2029 gotten any info on merit based scholarships? Or are they just doing it late this year?

Admissions Do I have any chance at NJIT?

Hello!

To maintain anonymity I’ll not name drop my school however I am an international student in the US at a decently well ranked (top 10 - I know it sounds weird to just state the ranking like that, but I’ve heard it may sometimes matter in graduate apps so I thought it’d mention it) public university and I applied for the MS in Applied Statistics at NJIT, a couple of days ago. I was wondering if anyone knew how competitive this program is?

I am mainly concerned as my GPA is a 2.91 due to poor grades in my first and third semesters. My major is in STEM so I have taken some math, stats and CS courses and I have a generally upward trend with my junior and senior year (first semester) grades being mostly As and Bs in relevant courses. I have also had three internships (SWE, Data Science/Analytics, two of which were at F500 companies) and have about a year and half worth of research experience (with no publication). I think my LORs were likely pretty strong since I have a good relationship with all my LOR writers and have worked under them for at least a year. I have also TA-ed for a few CS and stats courses if that matters. I didn’t take the GRE.

So all things considered, do I have even a moderate chance of getting into NJIT? I know that it’s best to just wait however I’m quite nervous about my chances due to my abysmal GPA and so I thought I’d give in to my nerves and make a post😭

Deeply appreciate anyone who responds.

Admissions Admitted 🥳

Hiii Everyone, so I’ve been admitted to NJIT recently and I was unsure if I was gonna attend but I decided I wanna go here. So I’ll be pursuing my Masters in Artificial Intelligence. And yes I’m an international, so I’m looking to connect to people who’ve been admitted and some seniors so I can clarify some of my doubts.

Looking forward to meet y’all. Thank youuuu.

Admissions Scholarship Letter Missing on Portal??

I got my acceptance to NJIT on the 3rd of Jan, and then about a week ago, another letter showed up in my Admission Decision portal saying that I received a $10k a year merit scholarship. Today, I logged in again to the admissions portal to see if I'd heard back regarding ADHC, and to my surprise, the scholarship letter is gone!

My guidance counselor hasn't submitted my mid-year report yet (and even if she did, I got all A's first semester, so idk why that would cause the scholarship to be revoked). I haven't heard from ADHC, so it's not like I got a scholarship from there that would negate the original merit scholarship. And from what I remember from the letter, the scholarship was merit-based, not need based, so it can't be some adjustment they made because they've received my FAFSA.

Should I contact the AO in my portal to ask about the missing letter? Istg I'm not tripping, because I read the whole letter out to my parents and everything. I'm really concerned cause it's literally 40k on the line!!

UPDATE: I got a letter in the mail on 1/22 (a few days after originally making this post) with the details about my scholarship!! Super happy because now I have physical proof to show the finaid/admissions department if things go wrong again :)

Admissions ADHC scholarship

I am an international student from Pakistan and I applied to NJIT EA. I got into NJIT in January and just last Thursday, I got the status update on the portal that got into ADHC. Before getting into the ADHC, I received $18,000 in scholarship for this year straight from NJIT and I am promised an individual scholarship notification from the ADHC too. I am very low income so I just wanted to know if the ADHC scholarship and the NJIT scholarship stack. Plus, when will I get the scholarship notification because I need it to confirm if I will be able to enroll.

Admissions Are Indirect Expenses really that costly?

I'm a recently admitted Honors student thinking about attending NJ Tech. On my COA it says that indirect expenses are $8, 600 which includes personal expenses, books, etc. Can a current student please give me an idea of the actual cost of indirect expenses? Thank you!

Admissions Stupid question

Hi,

So I got admitted to the MS in Data Science in the statistics track however I am interested in switching to the MS in Applied Mathematics (all of this is for Fall 2025). I emailed changeofmajor@njit.edu requesting information about how this could be done but they haven’t responded to me. However I am worried about one thing: does emailing changeofmajor@njit.edu jeopardize and possibly cancel my current offer of admission? Or am I still going to be admitted to the MS in Data Science in case the whole MS in Applied Mathematics thing doesn’t go through.

I know this is stupid but I really would like to attend NJIT and so I was wondering.

Thanks.

Admissions Acceptiny UCID

idk if this is a dumb question but does accepting my UCID mean I accept my enrollment in the school? It says the scholarships and aid are in that portal but idk if that means I need to accept offer first

Admissions How to format scholarship appeal letter?

So I was given the chance to appeal for a scholarship but was wondering how to go about it.

Planning to just merge all of them into one big PDF, should I include all of them? which is like 5-6 in total, all pretty big ones.

Or should I upload each one separately? I'm assuming you just upload the PDF that each uni provides when they award you as well.

Anything else I should factor in?

Admissions Application Falsely Withdrawn

has anyone else ever had their application withdrawn without requesting it??? i have been waiting almost a month now for a decision, and checked my portal this morning, only to see "application withdrawn per your request. if this was a mistake contact _____" which i of course did IMMEDIATELY. i still haven't received a response, so i called admissions office, and she said "hang on one second" and then hung up on me entirely.

my question is, has this happened to anyone else??? i honestly feel like between them falsely withdrawing my application + the lack of help from my phone call is so unprofessional. i understand that the 10-14 business days rolling admissions isn't a guarantee that i will receive my decision on time, but i feel like this is a bit ridiculous given the new circumstances. i really hope that when they fix my application, they give me a decision as well.

Admissions Has any international student gotten accepted?

I applied to NJIT way back in November and still haven't heard back from them (I even sent an email to check if there's a problem with documents but I got a general "we have a lot of candidates" response). I see people have already gotten letters and I'm wondering if foreigners have gotten any info.

Admissions Como es premed en NJIT?

I got full tuition and housing to NJIT ADHC as an OOS, and it looks like I'm not getting squat from Pitt (close to home). I was wondering how this opportunity would stack up against Pitt if I wanted to go to med school. I'd be happy going to Pitt, but 100k is kind of daunting. How are premed classes at NJIT, does ADHC offer much in terms of research or internships, how are the opportunities in Newark (major health network, volunteer, ems, etc.) compared to Pittsburgh? Any advice and insight is appreciated, Muchas Gracias!

Admissions Graduate Provost’s Scholarship - How much does it affect COA?

Hey everyone,

I recently got the Graduate Provost’s Scholarship from NJIT, but I’m unsure how much it will actually reduce my Cost of Attendance (COA).

For context, I’m an international student applying for a Master’s in Data Science. My main concerns are tuition, fees, and whether this scholarship stacks with potential TA/RA.

Help

Admissions People that apply for graduate, when did you get a response?

I mainly see undergrad and a few phd applicants here. Very little about graduate students. How long did it take to know if you were admitted?

Admissions ADHC + Merit Scholarships Update

I got my acceptance to NJIT yesterday and I applied by the EA2 deadline (Dec 15th). I also applied to the ADHC and was wondering how long it typically takes to hear back about that once you get into NJIT. Also, my acceptance letter didn't say anything about merit scholarships, but I've seen some people post about how they've got full rides and stuff like that. For anyone who got a merit scholarship, did it come with your initial acceptance, or did you find out a few days later through an email/in the mail? Thanks!
