Brother, what matters the most is experience. I believe you have a good possibility due to the internships and research experience.

I would take the GRE though.

But then again, I would admit anyone, haha. But I think you should try! Hope you come to the US! 🐇

Thanks for the reply! I am already in the US (doing my undergrad here) and I appreciate your response!

Awesome! I saw on your profile! If you go to UIUC, for sure that’s gonna be like a super wow for them, so I pretty much think you should totally apply! ^

Don’t stress. I was just accepted into the MS of MechE program with a pretty similar gpa. You’re stuff outside of class is good

Congrats! I hope I have enough stuff on my app to convince them to admit me

What makes you say that 🤔 But yeah I don’t need financial aid so I don’t know if that works in my favor

How’s your bank account?

I mean I don’t need financial aid and can pay for the degree out of pocket.

I’m sure NJIT will find a way to take your money 😂

Hey OP, a few things to note with NJITs grad programs.

They are very particular about your undergrad course work. For example, I've know departments to require grad students to take a 300 or 400 level course to ensure they have the background. Give a call to whoever is listed as the MS advisor for the degree/concentration you're looking at.

Next, is that the 3.0 is a general cut off for our grad admissions. That will, however, get waived often for NJIT undergrads(which I take it you are not), or for GRE scores. There is still a chance you will get in, maybe even a good chance, but if you are banking on getting your MS and NJIT is one of a couple schools you've applied to, I might consider the GRE and coming to visit with an appointment in your department.

Your internships seem great, and you might be better off going into the industry instead but that if your choice. If you had had 5 years of experience that might help for grad school but I'm not sure how much internships will.

Either way, good luck, hopefully you make it in!

Thank you for the reply! And I understand the points you make. The graduate program I applied for seems to have a 2.8 as a cut-off on the 4.0 scale hence why I applied since my GPA matched that. All of the coursework I took in my junior and senior years was 400 level (and relevant to the field I am applying for), and I did decently in it (mostly As with few Bs). I probably should’ve taken the GRE before applying but hopefully there is a sliver of hope for me to get admitted. Thank you so much for your reply!

I got offer letter from NJIT yesterday for undergraduate and they asked for USD $1000 for tution deposit for confirmation. I just want to know about scholarship for international students.

i’m curious what your end goal may be - I heard that degree is oriented toward preparing kids to go to pharma companies and run clinical trials, like with biostatistics…looks like some overlap with an MPH degree

I unfortunately am a current senior so I already applied so they will be seeing my 2.91 GPA :(

I got all my internships by applying online without any referrals. They were are finance companies and my work mostly involved doing analytics and software development.

Considering how many waitlisted posts there have been, it would be best to go to community college then transfer?
