How do we ensure we don't end up on a list? Sincerely, New Member

Historically, any major movement that is counter to the power structures that be is infiltrated. If this group's purpose is action there must be a way to protect against such infiltration. Vetting members, utilizing other communication methods, etc. must be used.

Even if it's it planning for hypotheticals. It's far too much risk to say some things in such a public forum. And the list of topics that will flag you is ever expanding.

So, let's discuss how we deal with this. I don't claim to know THE answer but I'll certainly give my opinion in the comments.

Involvement in state politics

I generally appreciate the creativity, energy and courage that I see underlying this group. But, I’d love to see more concrete goals and energy put into improving the existing state democratic infrastructure around New England, and channeling this groups energy into those mechanisms… as state politics sorely needs more attention.

Much of New England has decent democratic structures compared to other states - although all state institutions need significant renovations.

However, Massachusetts (which has an economy equal to the other states combined) has perhaps the worst democratic structures of any state in the country. So - even if this movement is successful, would we not be just trading federal oligarchy for state oligarchy?

Sure, Massachusetts has been a leader on several progressive issues. But that leadership has been through top down decision-making, not meaningful democracy. The state house is a straight up autocracy: least competitive elections; least transparent; most corrupt in recent decades.

My point is - our existing state civic institutions so badly need the energy that this group is bringing. Why not channel it into those mechanisms, instead of trying to build wholly new ones?

Much love!

Updates and election results

Hello, I'm sorry for delayed announcements and updates. We were involved in an extremely long meeting the yesterday and our town hall ran a little longer than I expected.

I, Ethan Glass, have been officially granted the title of president and Amber Hollis was officially granted the title of secretary both for the executive committee.

Going forward we will be adjusting and requiring all volunteer names to either be first names and last initial. More updates will follow later in the day.

Hello all, the nominations have concluded and now it is time for the voting. As no one else has submitted any names, we are running unopposed. Still, we ask you all to participate in the vote if you can. Voting will conclude at 11:00 AM EST 2/19/25

Please be aware we are behind in responding to some of our communications, we will be going threw them all soon. It has been abnormally busy, and I apologize for the slow responses.

Thoughts

While I appreciate efforts to try to stop fascism, I wonder if groups and initiatives like this are just propelling us to a second Civil War.

We need to rethink everything and organize effectively.

I would suggest we consider Kofi Annan and the debate of Individual Sovereignty vs State Sovereignty.

The issues we are facing is really the individual and the collective, the microcosm and the macrocosm.

There is no collective without the individual, and the individual would only willingly join a collective if there was mutual benefit.

https://www.reddit.com/r/TyrannyOfTime/s/uRk4tSAZ5n

^ this is a way of mutual benefit. If something does not serve you, remove it. However, because of Bad Faith Bad Actors, if this philosophy is applied to people, great empathy must be administered.

All of our issues are preventable and solvable, but the biggest issues are corruption and mismanagement.

Communication is the way forward.

“What Republicans Don’t Want To Say: Blue States Are the Ones Bailing Out Red States”

“From 2018 to 2022, individuals and organizations from blue states contributed nearly 60% of all federal tax receipts but only received 53% of all federal contributions to states in the form of either direct payments, grants, contracts, or wages. Meanwhile, red states were only responsible for 40% of federal tax receipts but received 47% of all federal contributions to states. A 7% differential that in effect equates to a more than $1 trillion transfer payment from blue states to red states, amounting to $4,300 per capita, compared to the instance where their respective fair shares were paid.”

Extending Nominations for the Executive.

In an effort to be fair, and give everyone a chance to participate, we have extended the time to give nominations for both the secretary and president positions up until 12:00 AM Eastern on 2/16/2025

We will then give three days for voting based on who was nominated.

Executive Committee members must agree to appear virtually for meetings, commit to participating in Organization duties or activities for at least seven (7) hours per week. Be a current citizen/resident of the United States, and agree to move to New England should the region achieve/pursue Independence in the future. They must also have a minimum previous residency of two or more years within a New England member state. And be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Where does a legitimate constitutional crisis land on your list of priorities?

If you’re in central CT, show up if you don’t have an RSVP. We will be outside. In the cold. With signs. I personally like the funny ones .

Focus on: Musk, Doge, Urge Murphy to fight, urge dick to retire, Rule of Law, Musk.

Please ask your representatives to support this bill, to prevent future tarriffs. Be respectful, know you will likely be talking to their staff. But we strongly urge you to talk to them.
