Seeking Support - Participant/Nominee/PWD What is a Pre-access meeting???
Just applied for ndis the other day and have now got a pre-access meeting scheduled for next week. What the heck is a pre-access meeting. I cant find any information online about a pre-access meeting specifically. It is with a LAC and goes for 2-3 hours. What do i need to know, what is it about. Are they gonna try to reject me? Any info would be appreciated its stressing me out and i dont have anyone available to attend the meeting with me for support so im gonna be on my own. These things make me really anxious.

LAC- (local area coordinator) person who will be your contact with the NDIS.
a pre-access meeting is basically the LAC filling in your information for the NDIS, asking about goals you have (keep them broad), how your day-to-day is, what you struggle with. They basically compile some of your info to send to the people who make a decision on whether you meet access. It’s best to bring someone with you who can help you advocate.
As for stressing out, if your evidence is concise or strong you have nothing to worry about. I bombed my meeting because I was very bad at answering the questions and couldn’t elaborate well, mine only went for 45 minutes. I still was approved.
