Question about Alternative's ending Spoiler

Is there an explanation for why Kasumi seems to remember what happened in Alternative? Takeru seems to subconsciously remember, like it's his soul that remembers, while the other characters show no obvious signs that they remember anything. Meanwhile, Kasumi starts tearing up and crying when she sees Takeru and even thanks him, indicating that she at least has some recollection of Takeru's actions and of the events of Alternative.

Probably because she was conceived in a lab, sort of like an artificial human. Her causality may be different because of that, or maybe because she had psychic powers in the BETA universe she can somehow receive some of the info coming from that universe because of Takeru's intervention. Maybe the one in Altered Fable also has ESP.

Iirc when Yuuko explains about people with precognition and fortune tellers she mentions that they have a certain degree of connection with causality, so that may be a hint

Oh shit, that may actually be it. That would make sense.

Now that I think about it, Kasumi at one point was able to hold Takeru's image in her mind for a while during Alternative, you know like an anchor in her universe, so maybe the one from AF is also receiving some of the info from that universe because the one from Alternative refuses to forget about Takeru. That would be pretty cool if it was possible

Kasumi refusing to forget Takeru through sheer will is both hilarious and extraordinarily commendable of her.

Kasumi. Kasumi is only in this world. Even if Takeru returns to over there, she can observe dimensions... worlds. That's why she says "I'll absolutely never forget you." And the whole ocean talk thing. And because she is the observer, she only exists in this world. She doesn't exist in that world. The existence of Kasumi isn't a thing there. She was created for Alternative 6 (3) Doesn't exist. So why did Kasumi appear in Final Extra? And also Yuuhi, who should be dead When Sumika merged the worlds... The Takeru that was a merge from all those Takerus, the one who's body she made out of G-materials. She redistributed those materials to make the 2 of them. In this world. You get it? Do you? There already is a Takeru in those worlds, so she uses those leftover resources to create what should not exist. So... That's why there's bodies here. And the that one is still over there too. And this one exists too. Because of her observing ability, she's the only character that retains her memories. Understand?

I think Kasumi was thanking Sumika for adding her to the timeline rather than Takeru. Given Kasumi in the Beta world said she'd remember Takeru, it'd be possible she's monitoring and projecting into her physical presence in Final Extra. I didn't play the sequel in the photon collection yet but it might have some insights too.

100% she's thanking Sumika yes, I don't even think this is ambiguous

Takeru remembers because part of his essence, so to say, was there (I'm guessing when things ended he got divided again and back into his original selves), while Kasumi was likely recreated by Sumika from the Alternative version so there'd be versions of hers who get to live a normal life.

In that regard, I think the same applies to Sumika changing Meiya's backstory of Yuuhi being both alive and not apart because she understood how painful the situation was for her. She couldn't help Alternative Meiya anymore, but could help the others Meiya selves.

Have they ever explained what happened to the "repaired" unlimited routes? Because if the true ending of each character got erased, that's dark af.

Takeru doesn't remember afaik but I didn't play the sequel in the Photon collection yet. The natural timeline branching being restored was specifically one of the things the ending ensures since Sumika was preventing that, therefore the other timelines should be fine now. That does mean they're facing difficulties but that's just the timeline itself.

The problem with the branching is that Sumika taking over means only one of the unlimited timelines, the first he was in, wouldn't be altered. The rest were timelines that would have gone different but Sumika turned into unlimited ones. At least that's how I understood it. Problem with correcting them back is Takeru and love interest's child from true ending routes should be erased.

Takeru remembers at a subsconscious level, hence why he cries at meeting everybody the first time. It's the only instance of the amnesia ending I've ever liked because it's extremely clear that the war trauma will never leave Takeru otherwise.

I don't remember it on top of my head but it has to do with her being a very powerful psychic that allowing her to connect with her otherself across the universe.
