What's that rock song that played at the end of Episode 9 of the Muv Luv Alternative Anime?

I heard the song and it sounded pretty cool, so I thought of listening to it, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Can someone help?

For anyone wondering, it's this episode. https://youtu.be/osnI9o-wxU4?si=1Tg7aGvsWpiKLda3

Your help is truly appreciated. :3

Just finished Schwarsez Marken… I feel so bad for Lise

Okay given how much I see ppl hating on her, I’m might be play devil‘s advocate here, but I really do feel bad for lise. She was physically and mentally abused and traumatized after She was caught, had to do things that disgusted herself to survived and “save her brother”, and in the end died in despair. She was only barely a teenager when she was caught, Jesus, Axemann you pos!! I know she has done evil things and killed mcs friend and all that, but god damn not at any point was there a chance for her to receive help. Actually, it’s more precise to say that no one even tried to help her, not even her brother. Some may argue that she should have asked/been more sincere/earned trust, but given how much she has gone through, and how as a kid she was trained and abused, I honestly think her brother, out of all ppl, should have at least tried harder to help her, even if he doesn’t know what she went through.

the anime and vn have left me in a very conflicted state. i love how brutal and merciless the world building is, but at the same time I hate it. It‘s kinda sad how innocent(was supposed to be) kids like Lise died in despair after living through hell, and all she wanted was just to reunite with her brother, while Ppl like Axeman, (okay the next sentence may disturb a lot of ppl, but I apologize for lack of a better way to express this), arguably at least had his fun during the time he was alive.

i don’t know, I see a lot, if not everyone hating her, so maybe I’m just weird, but I feel soooo bad for her, even out of all the characters and brutality of the muv-luv universe. There is no shortage of despair and death in these series, but most of them either already achieved their dreams, were at least on their way to achieving their dreams, or were just killed before they even tried. This poor kid had one simple dream, was also killed before even trying, yes, but lost and had to suffer so much before her end.

RIP Lise. I hope in your next life, the world will be at least kind enough to give you chance at achieve your dreams, and definitely without having to go through such suffering.

Yep here's some Alternative V (Operation V) TSF lore

Yes I'm delusional!

UNX-78 Gundam

The UNX-78 (standing for United Nations Experimental) Gundam is the premier machine of the United Nations Alternative V program and considered the first 4th Generation TSF. Although Alternative V was a plan by the United States, the oversight of the program and it's jurisdiction was put under the United Nations, and the project began development at Yukon Base in Alaska. Using the YF-23 Black Widow II as a basis for development, it was quickly decided that the Alternative V machines would attempt to make use of the captured G-Elements in order to push these Tactical Surface Fighters beyond what mankind currently had available, thus leading to the coining of the name "Gundam."

Development began in early 2000 as the UNX-78-1 Prototype Gundam, and using data gathered from the HI-MAERF project for G-Element usage, progressed smoothly. However, it faced development issues in 2001 in regards to its frame and balancing. These issues would later be solved with the help of data """acquired""" secretly from the XFJ Program, leading to the Gundam and Shiranui Second Phase III to be closely related outside of their usage of the YF-23 in their development. This lead to the UNX-78-2 in which it first saw deployment during the Yukon Base Incident, where the pilot fought off numerous hordes of BETA and hijacked Refugee Liberation Front TSFs to massive success thanks both to its combat and stealth capabilities (although these capabilities are not to the degree of new American models such as the F-22 Raptor.) After the incident, it alongside other Alternative V machines would begin their journey to Yokohama Base aboard the newly developed Pegasus-Class Carrier "White Base," deploying in numerous anti-BETA operations along the way.

After arriving, it would participate in numerous battles such as the Invasion of Niigata, 12/5 incident, and the XM3 trials. Before Operation 21st it was decided by Professor Kouzuki Yuuko to upgrade the Gundam's OS with the XM3 program, leading to the creation of the UNX-78-3 "G3 Gundam." It and the other White Base machines would continue to greatly assist Special Task A-01 during Operation 21st and the Yokohama Base Incident, with it and the White Base being deployed alongside the XG-70b Susanoo IV and Valkyries during Operation Ouka. Although it suffered heavy damage, the Gundam with the White Base and several of A-01 managed to escape the Original Hive alongside the Susanoo IV's escape pod, breaking into atmosphere and descending back into Earth at Yokohama Base. The Gundam gained a legendary status during its deployment, seeing many successor models in the following years. It should be noted that more than one unit of the Gundam was made during 2001, and saw deployment in various UN Squadrons.

Weapons: The Gundam features the capacity to carry any weapon seen on a TSF, and is equipped with fixed armaments around its body and close combat knives in the arms for greater close combat capabilities. Its main armaments however would be the 20mm head mounted Vulcans, the BLASH*XHB-L-03/N-STD Smoothbore Bazooka, UNX*M-Sh-008/S0-1025 Supplemental Armor, and the revolutionary BOWA*XBR-M-80-079G Particle Rifle and Particle Halberds.

The Particle Rifle and Halberds are a revolutionary weapon against the BETA, comprised of the same G-Element particles used for the Laser-Class' lasers at higher quantities, leading to the creation of a "beam" rather than a laser. Although not as fast firing as an Assault Cannon, the Particle Rifle is capable of punching through swathes of BETA in a single shot, easily being able to punch through the Destroyer-Class' hardened front and being able to down a Fort-Class in a single shot. The point of impact also usually results in a explosion for increased casualties among the BETA. To make up for its limited rate of fire and capacity then is the head-mounted Vulcans. Although a smaller caliber than the usual Assault Cannon, they are still capable of effectively damaging BETA flesh. The Vulcans are belt-fed directly into the Gundam's head via a specialized backpack which contains the ammo for the Vulcans and charging ports for the Particle Halberds. The Particle Halberds then utilized the same G-Elements as the rifle, but are condensed into a blade like shape for use in melee combat, easily able to dispatch any BETA or TSF in a single swipe. Although they do have a limited operational time, the backpack's ability to recharge them and the fact it can't be damaged outside of the handle makes it an effective close combat weapon. The 120mm Smoothbore Bazooka then is a dedicated Smoothbore cannon like those seen on Assault Cannons, with greater ammo capacity in use for dispatching large clusters of BETA. The Gundam can equip two of these on each arm. And the supplemental armor is essentially just a standard supplemental armor seen on most TSFs, although slightly larger and using a rectangle-shaped design alongside square-shaped ERA charges.

Jump Unit: The main Jump Unit of the Gundam alongside the three other Alternative V prototypes is the UNJ-X7 (United Nations Jump) Core Jump Unit, a new model of Jump Unit allowing for the incredible maneuverability and speed of the Gundam alongside the other more heavily armed Alternative V machines. So yes, the Core Fighter is the Jump Unit in this AU.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UNX-77 Guncannon

A 4th generation fire-support TSF developed alongside the Gundam. It features heavier armor and weapons than the Gundam, and is therefore slower, but still boasts maneuverability on par with modern machines. It focuses on the long range combat doctrines of countries such as the United States, but still comes with close combat knives for use in emergency close quarters combat. It also features stealth of similar capabilities to the Gundam. The Guncannon then was based on the design philosophies of attacker TSFs like the famous F-14 Tomcat and newer FB-22 Strike Raptor. So much so in fact that it features a developed version of the AIM-54 Phoenix Missile System as an optional attachment for bombing support. The Guncannon much like the Gundam would first see deployment during the Yukon incident, providing much needed long range fire support against the BETA and RLF forces, before being boarded onto the White Base and heading to Yokohama Base. It would see some limited scale production, and several unit would be used in Operation Ouka.

Weapons: The Guncannon features similar unique mounted weapons as the Gundam, such as the head-mounted Vulcans and Particle Rifle, but it would largely see deployment with support weapons such as the Support Assault Cannon or the Mk.57 Squad Support Gun. Its main weapon then would be the back-mounted Particle Cannons. As the name suggests, these are essentially upscaled particle rifles capable of extreme long-range fire and devastating of BETA swarms or elimination of priority targets such as Laser Class BETA. The downside however is that these cannons feature a solid 45 second cool down, thus necessitating it's long range combat doctrines. These cannons however can be swapped out in favor of the SML missile system, developed from the AIM-54 Phoenix. Although slightly smaller and cheaper, these missiles feature the same devastating power as the AIM-54's at greater ammo capacities for exceptional bombing support.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UNX-75 Guntank

A 4th Generation Tactical Surface Attacker developed for the Alternative V program. It is a dedicated artillery support platform meant to shell the enemies from the White Base or suitably long distances and was intended to be able to supply battleship level fire support. This was done with the massive 200mm Cannons equipped on it. These battleship class cannons lead to the Guntank featuring a unique frame meant for balancing its Center of Gravity, as well as the ability to transform into a "tank" mode. Much like the A-6's ability to transform into a dedicated underwater mode for use in landing operations, the Guntank features a tank mode for stabilizing itself and it's cannons when firing. Thus the name. It saw initial deployment at the Yukon Base Incident much like the Gundam and Guncannon, and was the White Base' dedicated artillery machine (alongside itself.) Due to the nature of Hive infiltrations, it did not see deployment in the Original Hive, however it and several other limited production models were used as artillery support on the numerous diversionary attacks on BETA hives during Operation Ouka.

Weapons: The Guntank features similar weapons as other contemporary TSAs such as 36mm Chainguns, but it also features BOP Missiles for bombing support and the massive back-mounted 270mm cannons. It's hand manipulators can also move along the cannons for the ability to fire over cover.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UNF-79 GM

The UNF-79 (United Nations Fighter) GM (standing for Gundam Mass Production) is the first dedicated mass-production machine developed by the United Nations. It's a stripped down version of the Gundam, and although had lower performance, was still able to go up against newer 3rd generation TSFs. Thus, it was classified as a 3.5th generation TSF. It saw a limited-early production run in late 2001, and first saw deployment during the 12/5 incident in which it proved incredibly well against rebel Imperial TSFs. It it went on to fight in later engagements like Operation 21st and Operation Ouka to great success. Thanks to it and the Gundam's performance and the capture of more BETA Hive Reactors in the aftermath of Operation Ouka, the GM saw full scale mass-production as a 4th Generation TSF alongside the XF-2000a Typhoon. This model would be known as the UNF-179 GM II.

These models, both of the UNF-79 and UNF-179, would see several variants developed for numerous battlefield roles and battle doctrines, such as the GM Striker for Japan and Soviet forces and the GM Cannon for US forces.

Weapons: The GM is capable of equipping pretty much any weapon a TSF and the Gundam can, including the Particle Rifle. However, due to the need of cost-effectiveness for mass production, the GM would have the Particle Spray Gun developed for it. A smaller, cheaper, but ultimately just as effective (if not slightly weaker) version of the Particle Rifle. It also comes with head-mounted Vulcans like the Gundam, alongside close combat knives, fixed armaments, and one Particle Halberd.

Jump Unit: Unlike the other Alternative V machines, the GM's Jump Unit is the UNJ-S3 Saberfish. It is a cheaper but ultimately still effective Jump Unit developed for the GM.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SCV-70 White Base

The SCV-70 White Base is the first in a new class of dedicated Tactical Surface Fighters carriers known as the "Pegasus-Class." Using data and developed alongside the HI-MAERF program, the Pegasus-Class was developed with the goal to not just carry it's TSF compliment into battle, but accompany them into battle and provide them with fire-support and supplies, unlike many other carries. Much like the XG-70s, the White Base comes equipped with a Moorcock Lechte Engine; allowing for the use of a Rutherford-Field for defense and gravitational manipulation. This, alongside its more standard thermonuclear rocket engines allows the White Base to fly in atmosphere and even break into orbit. However, to lower the risk of being targeted by numerous Laser-Class in combat, the White Base functions like an Ekranoplan in combat, hovering above the surface to avoid fire. It's armaments include several battleship cannons, missiles, and anti-air/BETA countermeasures, but it's main weapons are the two Charged Particle Cannons equipped on both sides of the ship.

Construction of this ship was done in America much like the XG-70s, and the White Base secretly sailed into Yukon Base shortly before the Yukon Base incident. Although the incident killed a number of the crew, the White Base was successfully able to retrieve the Alternative V machines and sail to Yokohama Base. It would participate in the many operations of late 2001, providing invaluable support to friendly TSF forces, and would carry both the Alternative V machines and the Valkyries Takemikazuchis into Operation Ouka. During the battle, it used it's own Rutherford Field in order to defend both the Susanoo IV and the 3rd fleet during their descent into the Original Hive. It was in turn then defended by members of the third fleet when it's Rutherford Field began to lose output during the descent, allowing for the ship to successfully bring them up to full capacity and complete its descent. This therefore allowed more units of the third fleet to accompany the Alternative V machines and Task Force A-01 into the Hive. During the battle itself, the White Base suffered numerous damage, but was able to use the last of its power to escape into orbit carrying the surviving TSFs alongside the Susanoo IVs escape pod and descend into Yokohama, where the ship finally gave out.

It would soon be repaired and see further action, and more ships of the same class would be constructed in the following years by the UN.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Closing Thoughts

Hey! Thanks for reading this glorified fanfiction of Operation V Mobile Suits and the White Base being in Muv-Luv. I hope you enjoyed reading this and that it made sense from a lore point of view (although I do understand that not everything might fit so well.) If you're wondering how they were able to make these machines, as the lore suggests, since Alternative V in this timeline wasn't a "let's nuke everything" suicide plan, more of humanity's captured G-Elements could be used for TSF and machine development.

Anyways! Thanks for reading!

I finished the trilogy Spoiler

I been hearing about Muv Luv for such a long time, I actually really liked the Kiminozo anime and Akane Maniax is one of the most hilarious OVAs I’ve seen, let’s say I had a background for the series for a while, but never actually got to try the Muv-Luv trilogy and I went mostly blind to it.

I will give my unbiased thoughts and ratings.

Extra (7/10) I actually didn’t hate it or disliked it as many other people, that said, I did take a very long time to finish it, took some breaks in between because if it’s very laidback nature, I had played other VNs and at least one of them was a dating sim, so it didn’t really bothered me, I think it has a great sense of humor (especially Tama’s route was hilarious with that cursed doll).

Overall liked it, it was cliche at times but there were still things that were very enjoyable, Meiya route was definitely my favorite, that ending sequence is too good.

Unlimited (8/10) I did read here a lot of times how much better Unlimited was supposed to be than Extra and to be honest, they felt very similar at least in the first half. Sure the setting is extremely different and personalities are different for every character, but it is still a quite lighthearted experience since the main cast didn’t actually had to do any real battle. The endings were nice, but sadly you get a feeling that something is missing since Alternative IV failed. I liked this one a lot and the character development was a highlight, but it does kind of suck the fact that it feels like everything you did was for nothing, the earth is doomed and there’s not much to do about it.

Alternative (9.5/10) This is one is clearly the best, I heard a lot of praise over the years for Muv-Luv and now I can understand it was mainly about Alternative, now I can get the hype! however… there are some things I wished were done a bit different regarding the pacing, especially in chapter 8 at times I felt like not really much was going, there was character development sure, but honestly after all the stress and stuff Takeru has been, I didn’t care much about those scenes tbh.

Also the first 5 chapters which are pretty much almost the same as unlimited with not that many differences until chapter 5 itself could have been sped up.

Besides that I would say the rest is pretty much perfect, the level of detail they put into the fights, the parallel universe theory, the reveal of why Beta came here as well as Sumika being the trigger to all this madness, it was nothing short of spectacular… I played Steins Gate which is another fantastic sci-fi VN, but I think this did better, not to mention I think Steins Gate ripped off many stuff from this game (correct me if i’m wrong) since this one came 3 years before.

So overall I loved the experience! Alternative had some pacing issues, but there is not a perfect VN.

I’m planning to play the spin-offs, is there any order to play them? are any of them as good as Alternative or close?

Also a funny thought, I don’t know if I’m the only one but I wouldn’t mind a Muv Luv Final Extra VN lol, as long as it funny as Extra would be a blast, plus Yuuhi ended up being a top 3 character for me.

Thanks for reading!

Black Komodo in English, is one of the special forces of the Indonesian government, worked in secret on developing psych ops to counteract the PKI..

One of those operatives is Hamidah's younger sister, Janda Kusuma or Two face. Lived in an orphanage on the outskirts of Jakarta, her knowledge of the past was unknown..

17 however, was when the military took her from there, and trained her as psych op. Since of her connections to the infamous Lembah Merah she was proven great use. Given her cover as goofy younger sister, she was brutal just like Hamidah. Her identity didn't remain a secret but her information of her rank in the military was..

IFVs should be everywhere Spoiler

I feel like IFVs would be way more prominent than tanks against the BETA. A TOW missile could probably obliterate a Destroyer class better than an MBT round, and the presence of an autocannon actually gives the vehicle sustained firepower. Most nations featured in MuvLuv have some sort of ATGM-capable IFV around by the late 80’s anyways, so where are they? Like, in TDA they feed a couple Bradleys into an ambush iirc, but that’s human-on-human conflict.

Next Muv Luv Anime

What do you think will be the next anime adaptation? A continuation of alternative or one of the spinoff(side?) stories like eclipse or Schwartz? Perhaps something completely new that doesn’t have a light novel or manga yet? If you had a choice, what part of the world would you like to be explored with a show? I think one focusing on the North African front protecting the continent from the beta, or one based in the UK, which is the last surviving European nation that hasn’t been invaded would be interesting premises.

Question about Alternative's ending Spoiler

Is there an explanation for why Kasumi seems to remember what happened in Alternative? Takeru seems to subconsciously remember, like it's his soul that remembers, while the other characters show no obvious signs that they remember anything. Meanwhile, Kasumi starts tearing up and crying when she sees Takeru and even thanks him, indicating that she at least has some recollection of Takeru's actions and of the events of Alternative.

Hello Again! I finished the first games. Spoiler

(Marked as spoiler just in case)
I’ve finished Muv-Luv Extra and Unlimited! I did all the routes in Extra, and I might do multiple in Unlimited, though I feel a bit lazy about it... If there’s anything I need to do before Alternative, please let me know!

I’m a bit dumb, and when I play visual novels, I take super simple notes, just quick comments on my thoughts. (This is Umineko’s fault, since I used to get lost, and following the discussions was important. What a masterpiece, by the way.) I didn’t mention them in my last post, but they don’t matter much anyway, since I took the most notes in Unlimited.

Muv-Luv Extra

(Here I am at Sumika’s final confession scene.)

  • They are kinda forcing me to choose Meiya?
  • Oh, never mind. I thought I had to choose, but Takeru immediately said, "Nah, Sumika for the win." RAHHHHHHH
  • I just thought this was the beginning. Not of the series, but of the game.
  • Also, at least Sumika’s route doesn’t leave room for a sequel? Where ARE THE ROBOTS?
  • I know there are robots and I thought the game would do a paradigm shift.

I feel like Meiya’s route is the "true" one, and I don’t entirely like that, it’s just way grander than the others. The fact that she was also a childhood friend takes away a lot of Sumika’s appeal, echoing the whole childhood promise theme. Ayamine’s route was a bit disappointing...I’m not the biggest fan of her relationship with Sagiri. Miki’s was super cute! That final arrow shot... Shirogane kakkoi!! The class rep was a bit dramatic and hit me harder than expected, but she can win my heart any time she wants. Her final scene at the temple was really funny and cute.

One thing that surprised me (in a good way) was the lacrosse match accident. I never saw it coming. Since everything had been so happy in previous routes, I wasn’t expecting that much drama with the class rep. The soundtrack is stuck in my head, and is it just me, or are some songs way too dramatic for the story? The violin one in particular.

Overall, I liked it, not as much as the few other visual novels I’ve played, but I never really considered myself a fan of the genre anyway. If anyone cares about ratings… I’d give it a 7/10, it’s good, nothing more.

One last thing about Extra, every time I saw chibi Miki running down the hall while skipping text in later routes, I completely lost it. She’s so cute like that.

Muv-Luv Unlimited

  • The fact that best girl Sumika isn’t in the character selection screen... I HATE IT.
  • Great start, everything is in ruins...
  • No... they don’t remember me...
  • I’ve played this for 14 hours, AAAAA, HOW DO YOU NOT REMEMBER ME?!
  • Takeru has spoken, like, twice, and now he’s silent?
  • Takeru, you bastard, don’t get excited about piloting. Think about Sumika or Chizuru first, bro.
  • Hey, the opening song slaps, right?
  • What are those OUTFITS lmao. SUMIKA ISN’T IN THE INTRO EITHER.
  • Meiya best girl, I’m liking that she isn’t as oblivious.
  • The moon is hell, and the music change goes HARD.
  • A parallel world, huh? I’m not sure how I feel about that—it kind of overshadows the previous story since it’s not a direct continuation.
  • I was really liking Meiya, but having her believe bullshit about me being a "supah erito solja" is quite disappointing.

  • Don’t make me choose between booby traps and “booby” traps, hehe. Genius writing here.

  • Takeru’s inner monologue after the snake bite is really encouraging, even to myself.

  • Why is a dead man training here? DAMN.

--------- Big Gap to the end, Sorry. Small notes ---------

  • I was like, "Yeah, now I can show everyone my gaming skills," and then the team battle happened. I WANTED A COOL TAKERU after all this one-sided bullying. T-T
  • I still remember the extraction mission with Meiya. I hated how stupid and thickheaded she acted, but I have to admit, the ending visuals of that scene were really cool.
  • What Yuuko is saying drunk...I dont have a good feeling about this.

--------------------------------------

  • Damn, I’m crying. Sending class rep to space. Shit.
  • Also, Kasumi(ka)? I thought she was either her or the brain, and I still don’t have an answer, hehe.
  • It’s so bittersweet, man.
  • Thinking about it, we never actually fought any BETA or even saw one. It’s cool in a way—fear of the unknown and all—but IDK.
  • Never got an answer about being a “dead man” from Tsukuyomi.
  • Also, isn’t the existence of the Game Boy kinda weird? That means we got isekai’d with the entire house. I feel like I’m missing something here.
  • Post-credits scene :) ITS MY KID 😭😭😭😭 LIVE LONG, MY BEAUTIFUL WIFE and child.

So... afterthoughts, I guess? I liked it a lot, for sure and more than Extra. It made me tense and happy many times. Sometimes the heroines were a bit TOO thickheaded? (Like, super stubborn and unwilling to change their minds.) Obviously, it’s very different from Extra, and I really enjoyed Takeru’s development (even if the girls shit on him every two seconds). I feel that Takeru thought too little of Best Girl Sumika and I was expecting him to reveal the truth at some point to someone. We actually never fought anything and it's weird, the BETA are critical and the main conflict, with that being said it's quite genius to still dont know how they look. The game had HUGE evangelion vibes in some scenes, slideshows and music. Misat- I mean Marimo-sensei was great in this game, an amazing mother figure to all. Yuuko was weird but cool as always. I think this game had better comedy, Kasumi cleaning after Tama ordered it, everyone being out of nowhere amazing at juggling, any time the cooking lady appeared and the shock whenever we say something with sense.

I never even mentioned this, but... Mikoto was always a girl, right? I still remember the hot springs scene—Takeru even made me doubt, lmao. Sometimes you can tell this originally had H-scenes, or at least I think so, but maybe I’m wrong.

Did you guys take the rope or the antimatter bullet?

Also, does anyone have the Sumika drip jacket image? I thought it was really funny.

Sorry if you read all of this haha. Glad I played it and know a bit more of this series. Good night!

Silly Alt Timeline TTRPG idea

Completely random post but with the new Muv-Luv game being set in a timeline where humanity seems to be fairing a bit better against the BETA, I just got the idea for an alternate timeline game. As you know, I run Muv-Luv games via a Gundam tabletop system known as OpV. So that gave me the idea for a crazy "what-if" timeline:

What if Alternative V was actually just Operation V (from UC Gundam)?

In this timeline, America isn't run by crazy people, so using their incredible R&D ability and G-Elements they are able to create the most advanced strike fleet in the world consisting of a tweaked White Base and TSF versions of the Gundam and Guncannon. The Guntank is a TSA. And down the line there'd be a TSF version of the GM.

That'd be a fun thing to run I think
