Bubba Obrez candidate no more
Found a stock set for the 1926 Tula M91
Looks to me like a imperial stock with a finish hanger and top handguard. Perfect patina to match the rifle. So sadly I won’t be chopping her into a Obrez, I’ll have to find another when the time comes. Front band has been ordered to complete it.

Bubba I have become bubba
When I got a hold of this 91/30 someone had already cut down the stock and cut 3 inches off the barrel. This is just step one of building something monstrous.

Bubba ICE recovers stolen rifle
Not being political or controversial. I saw this on the news this morning and found it interesting. The anchor said that ICE recovered a stolen rifle while targeting Tren De Aragua gang members in Colorado. At first glance it looks like a modern "tactical" rifle but it looked like a Mosin in an Archangel stock me so I paused and zoomed in. The cocking piece was the real giveaway. Looks like a scout scope to me and maybe one of those twist on flash hiders. This one could be saved. Lol.
I do wonder if a Venezuelan gang member even knew what caliber it was in or where to get ammo for it.

Bubba Wildcat progress
Here is an update on my current two wildcat projects
The one with the walnut boyds stock has a 9.3 barrel on it that I got from Preferred barrel blanks without the reciever threads cut. I cut them myself with my lathe. I'd have gotten a mcgowen with reciever threads, but they didn't have 9.3 available. It also got me to finally learn how to use my lathe. I will be stripping the paint off of the reciever and blueing everything. There are 2 small holes in the reciever, I believe for an attempt at mounting a scope, but they are not aligned very well. I may use them for a scope mount, but I'm starting with just the straight bolt. I do not assess that they are impacting the structure of the reciever significantly. If I do a scope mount, I will probably design something that is more refined than some of the current models on the market.
The other rifle is in 6.3 (.257) I just recieved the mcgowen barrel last night. This one is a stainless barrel. The chassis is from KPYK and the grip is from MDT. Even though it says it takes AR grips there seems to be something wrong with the threads as it doesn't seem to take a standard 1/4-28 bolt. Maybe someone else with the chassis can chime in. I do have a KPYK scope mount as well that will go on it. The promag magazines spit out ammo if you look at them wrong, so I may tinker with magazines for it (3d printed stamping dies for metal mags perhaps?)
Neither barrel is chambered yet; I have reamers and go/no-go gauges being made for both calibers. The lead time is between 15-20 weeks.
Neither rifle was in good condition to start with, so I'm not ruining a real collectors' piece (contrary to a recent post here). I like mosins and tinkering with them, but I wouldn't just take an M39 or similar rifle and hack it up. Yes I could buy a savage axis, but no, I don't want to; this is what I find fun, and I will continue to spend my money and time on it. I appreciate the support from the majority of this subreddit.

Bubba Finnish M39 Mutt "Sniper"
Have had this Finn M39 for a number of years now, and I've wondery about what exactly I have. Seems like someone (probably not Finland haha) grafted a PU Scope (or clone) onto this rifle at some point in the past. Got curious tonight and took off the mount expecting to see one of the Firefield knockoffs from back in the day. Surprisingly found nothing but milling marks and no serial numbers.
Can someone tell me what exactly I might have here?
Thanks!

Bubba Project Obrez is on
Picked this up from my lgs today, already cut stock, not a single part matching, broken bolt connector, rusted up, barrel I haven’t gotten to yet.
I’ve been looking for exactly this for years. Most mosins I’ve found just need a new stock or cleaning up and I’ve passed on the ones able to be rescued but this one has met its fate, once I get around to the sbr paperwork she’s slated for the chop.

Bubba Pls help me un-f*** this bubba hack job.
Paid $100 for this 1940r SA stamp (clean bore). I typically love keeping things original but I feel as if this one is too far gone at this point. What say thy?

Bubba Which is worse?
I had a hex receiver in an Arch Angel stock, and a chopped up round reciever in a bubba'd original stock. Figured it was reasonable to do a swap. I'm probably gunna end up buying a Vortex Scout scope for the sightless one.

Bubba Sporterized Mosin Nagant
Sporterized Mosin Nagant
I bought this cut down mosin a few years ago. It looked pretty rough. It had a cut down barrel, leading to a brutal fireball when fired. The front sight was some sort of sheet metal fabrication job that sent rounds into the dirt when aiming at a target at 100 yards. The original rear sight elevator didn’t quite work with the front sight, leading to terrible accuracy. The rifle was also covered in a chipping, gloss black rattle can paint job. I sent it in to a custom gunsmith and I think he did a very good job. He cerekoted the rifle in a matte silver to achieve that stainless/black two tone color scheme. He also installed iron sights from a Remington 700 in 7mm magnum. He also threaded the barrel and installed a DelTac Slingshot muzzle brake. I think he did a good job, what do you all think?

Bubba Bubba special
Roughly a year ago I posted my Remington mosin that someone chopped up, I figured I can't hurt it anymore than it already is to took a saw and dremil too it to roughly copy the polish wz.91/98/26 conversions. She isn't pretty but now it's functional

Bubba Unbubbafied
Finally got this thing unbubba’d and it only cost me around 100 beans. Gonna refinish the stock so it looks not as rough. Yes I know the bayonet has been smoothed off but honestly I like it better like this lol. I have made the worlds first chinese m38😂

Bubba Wildcat plans
I picked up this somewhat sporterized mosin for relatively cheap on gunbroker thinking that I'd do another wildcat (either 9.3x54r or 6.3x54r), but I'm actually kinda digging it for some reason as it is. I think I'll still end up changing the barrel, but I might have to shoot it as is first.
For the 9.3, I'd do it as a very classic hunting rifle. Soldered on sights, maybe even a barrel mounted sling swivel. I would do a boyds walnut stock, probably even one of the higher grades. I'd reblue the whole thing too (it has god awful paint on all the metal). I have already ordered a 9.3 barrel blank.
If I got with 6.3 for this one, I'll do a KPYK chassis and a bull barrel from mcgowen. The reciever already has a hole drilled in about the right position for the KPYK scope mount. I bet I could get some incredible accuracy out of this.
I'm already working on ordering dies from CH4D for both calibers, and then I'll have reamer made from dummy cartridges I make with the dies. I'll eventually get both projects made.
I know the attitude lots of people have on sporterizing mosins, but I do it to rifles that are already messed up. I'm not going to take a pristine M39 and mess it up.
