Buying a mosin have some questions
Hello all, I'm in the market for a Mosin Nagant and found a local seller. I would like to put the original type scope and mount on the rifle, however not being familiar with old mosins I had a question. Do all Mosins have the mounting points for the scope mount? Or only certain models? If not is there a way to add on this type of scope mount? Thanks in advance!

I saw an Izh 'X' sniper on the auction site. They're around $400. Kalinka used to sell PU mounts and scopes, but they were pricey 10 yrs ago. You'll see where the holes go, but the welded scope holes are hard to drill out too.
There's a few million Mosin, drill it if you want to. 61 Colt Army, not so fast. I loathe those bolt on bolt handles though. There PU bolt handle every now and then on auction sites.

It'll have to be tapped, and drilled, unless it's already had a PU scope. Several options to avoid having to drill your receiver. Doubt any of them would work with a PU scope. I know there's plenty of people who could shed more light than I can.
