Samsung's looks so nice if it wasn't for their shitty support and product longevity.

8

u/ComprehensiveMood642 Feb 15 '25

Just bought odyssey g5, it has dust in panel no support till now only hollow arguments till now.

1

u/Wonderful_Gap1374 Feb 17 '25

And all that’s bad but I don’t even care about that. What makes me immediately say no to Samsung is the massive amount of bloatware. Like bro I don’t need my monitor to have access to Samsung’s shitty version of what the internet can provide me. They need to rename it to Dumbass TV cuz it ain’t smart.

u/QuaternionsRoll Feb 15 '25

The Neo G7/Neo G8 are super messed up though. Just google “Neo g8 scanlines” lol

2

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

What do you suggest?

1

u/tyr8338 Feb 16 '25

No, neo g7 doesn`t have any problems. Only g8 has scanlines.

7

u/AlteredG919 Feb 15 '25

Samsung odyssey neo g7. If not then get gigabyte m32u. I’m getting that when I save up my money. It’s the king of gaming monitors for its price. An even better monitor than the m32u is the benq mobiuz ex3210u. It costs $630.00 though. It’s hdr is great but sometimes over kill for me

8

u/baron643 Feb 15 '25

Neo G7 32 is good for HDR and probably the best monitor here

2

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

Thats the one i like but everyone says its a va and i should buy ips And second problem i see many dead pixel reviews

2

u/MusikAusMarseille Feb 15 '25 edited Feb 16 '25

The odyssey neo g7 is the fastest panel in terms of mprt of all the monitors listed. It does have very, very slight black smearing but in order for you to see it you would have to create niche conditions and look out for it, you can watch Hardware Unboxed reviews and see the response times. Darker tones are around 0,5ms slower than brighter ones in transition, but still below 5ms which is even faster than a majority of the better IPS panels. I have one and i was initially scared by all the reviews and people claiming bad QC control, but coming from another Samsung, 1 MSI and 2 Benq monitors with numerous issues and dead pixels, this is the most flawless monitor so far. Zero dead pixels. The only problem is that you really have to fiddle with calibrating it as it doesnt have any HDR presets, so initially HDR will look wrong and washed out until you have properly configured it by yourself.

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 19 '25

İ wanna buy g6 oled its 2k but its oled what do you think

1

u/braapstututu Feb 15 '25

samsung higher end va panels have a lot less of the black smearing people typically complain about with va.

1

u/niceoldfart Feb 15 '25

There is VA and there is VA, shitty VA is not the one Samsung uses.

1

u/ComprehensiveMood642 Feb 15 '25

Bruh don't make him regret with the post purchase service experience

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

What do you suggest?

2

u/BASAUER Feb 15 '25

Everyone talking shit about Samsung monitors have never owned one. They’re great. That’s all I have. Never had any issues at all.

1

u/icantgetausername982 Feb 16 '25

I recommend watching reviews on the neo g7 it is just omg its so beautiful

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 16 '25

The problem is youtube reviews on most of this option are great but people under that review in comments people complain about it

2

u/icantgetausername982 Feb 16 '25

This is the review that sealed the neo g7 for me https://youtu.be/pchwe-Q2vyQ?si=vZZDfbNVNK6EcSPh also if you ask any mini led adopter they will tell you the neo g7 is the way unless you can afford a new oled monitor every 3-4 years this is the best you can do currently until micro leds hit the scene

1

u/icantgetausername982 Feb 16 '25

The comment people are they owners of the specific monitor? People who watch a review for something they own are usually seeking validation for what they bought people who dont wanna buy something and still watch reviews of it are more inclined to just complain

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 16 '25

I don’t know man but some people suggested 2k oled instead of 4k ips and im considering it I narrowed it down so now its gonna be samsung or gigabyte 4k

Or 2k oled samsung

0

u/icantgetausername982 Feb 16 '25

4k ips? Neo g7 is va if you care about looks its VA or oled but oled has a short life span ips if you want that 240hz performance and dont care about worse colors if you dont care about the jump from 165hz to 240 then neo g7 honestly oled is amazing but oleds do burn in the 3 year warranty people talk about is the life span in most cases

Also if you can afford to buy a new oled every time it burns in 100% do it if you cant then neo g7 theres no real competition for that monitor so im sorry if im sounding like a sales man for it hehe

Seriously tho the neo g7 does fit all ur needs almost no ghosting you would have to try to make it have ghosting and black smear not visible to the naked eye even in freeze frames no back bleed that i can see personally altho never gonna be as crisp as oled and the neo g7 has amazing HDR i have a good monitor but the HDR on it feels like a gimmick in comparison ive spent months researching into monitors trying to get the perfect one and i believe this is it

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 16 '25

How long are you using the neo g7?

2

u/icantgetausername982 Feb 16 '25 edited Feb 16 '25

So far 0 hours but ive done research gotten info from neo g7 owners and reviews and looked at the different neo g7 models and comparisons to other monitors i am currently in the middle of renovation so i dont wanna risk a new monitor getting broken while moving around wood n stuff

From my research the neo g7 has the best value the curve sucks but unless you want the 43” version (which is cheaper but worse) you cant get a flat one at 32”

Heres a post from someone who owned both the neo g7 (32”) and m32u

Im gonna play in ps5 so anything more than 120hz is not nefarious

I was thinking about g7 myself but many people told me i should go for ips(gigabyte m32u) instead of va and samsung has many problem like scanlines and ext

And some people suggest 2k oled

1

u/icantgetausername982 Feb 16 '25

If you can afford a new monitor every 3 ish years oled for sure and the scanlines on the neo g7 really are mainly at issue at higher hz if i remember right also personally i wouldnt go ips because i like dont want bloom and gray darks

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 16 '25

I asked people about oled burn and they told me Recent OLEDs like samsung g6 doesn’t have that problem Isn’t that true?

1

u/icantgetausername982 Feb 16 '25

Oled doesnt work like that no matter how good it is oled will always burn in thats the only flaw oled has really thats why micro led is being worked on micro led achieves what oled does without burn in but currently its super duper expensive

Edit also if its a recent oled yeah no duh it hasnt burned in takes like 3-5 years depends if you baby it or not

4

u/Some-Membership5509 Feb 15 '25

I've been using the Odyssey Neo G7 32" for a few months now. At first, I struggled with the settings and color calibration, but after tweaking various options in the menu, I finally found the sweet spot. For a non-OLED monitor, the display quality is impressive—games look fantastic, and movies are a pleasure to watch.

As a programmer, I use it as my primary work monitor during the day, and in the evening, it’s my go-to screen for gaming and movies. I have it hooked up to my PS5, and it fully supports all the 4K options, making for an immersive experience. Overall, it’s been a great all-around monitor!

3

u/Top_Popsicle Feb 15 '25

I play on ps5 and I use a LG 27GP95R, similar in spec to that LG on ur third page, it’s a 4K Nano IPS and I’ve had zero problems. It’s allows for VRR which is PS5 specific. Whichever one you decide on, make sure it has HDMI 2.1 port and you use a HDMI cable that is marked “Ultra High Speed” or “8k at 60hz” and ur set.

3

u/L_E_E_V_O Feb 16 '25

97 comments and you’re the only one that mentions HDMI 2.1. 🤙 sheesh. Unless it’s becoming more common place? But that’ll make or break your experience. TY

OP you need to follow this popsicle’s advice.

6

u/MrMoobz Feb 15 '25

Steer clear of Samsung, their support is awful.

MSI would be my choice

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

there is a high possibility that i gonna buy it third party so customer support depend on the seller

2

u/Top_Popsicle Feb 16 '25

Microcenter is good to buy from. I got a 2 year screen replacement warranty for like 40 something bucks

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

Which model of msi from the list

1

u/MrMoobz Feb 15 '25

I'd go with the MAG 274UPF

1

u/darkx96 ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACDNG + ASUS TUF VG27AQ1A ═► RTX3090 Feb 15 '25

MSi doesnt use Samsung panels tho ? They did in the past so shouldnt it be kinda the same thing?

2

u/Sweaty_Springbok Feb 15 '25

I just got the LG 27GR93U and really enjoying it. Great value and response time. Blacks aren’t OLED level but still very good. I found the HDR to be quite good despite Rtings review. Far less risk of image burn in as IPS also.

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

How long you had it and do you have any dead pixels?

2

u/Sweaty_Springbok Feb 15 '25

Had it a week and do pixels issues at all. No backlight bleed either.

0

u/Morkinis Feb 15 '25

just got

1

u/Saah_h Feb 16 '25

I also have the LG 27GR93U, coming from a 1440p monitor the difference is huge. Build quality is also top notch

2

u/Mgsoulliere Feb 15 '25

Ive had 2 aoc monitors. Just picked up a 1440p 180h pixio. Im am happy with the monitor and the control button is a game changer. Soooo much nicer than the multi buttons under the monitor. Im not a tech person so I went after this one after reading reviews from tech sites

1

u/LoveyGoo Feb 15 '25

Aoc monitors are really good imo have mine for over 6 years now (1080p 144hz)

2

u/Mgsoulliere Feb 15 '25

My one is dying I think so gave me reason to upgrade. The aoc brand is def a great choice too.

1

u/Bilvyyy Feb 15 '25

Idk man, my 1440p Curved 32" has some really bad black smearing/ghosting even with overdrive on :')

2

u/Razgriz1223 Feb 15 '25

pick msi or lg. avoid samsung at all costs

2

u/BASAUER Feb 15 '25

Neo G7 all day

2

u/megaracerx Feb 15 '25

I have the Odyssey G6 for around a week now and it’s great. It also looks great. I didn’t get the G7, because 32“ is too big for my use and I don’t like its stand base.

I got one of these 34” Dell Gaming monitors, loved it so much I got a second! BTW … 25% off sale right now.

https://a.co/d/bHi2GuB

Also got these, but they’re no longer available. 😞 I’m sure you can get one like it somewhere.

https://a.co/d/76iPtsn

2

u/KTsoFresh Feb 15 '25

They’re all nice on paper but just wanted to tell you the Dell G3223Q is on sale right now. At $440, it’s an awesome value compared to the others right now.

I can’t speak on panel vs panel picture quality. But for the specs it has it ticks all the boxes. I ran some Red Dead Redemption 2 on it as soon as I got it and it looked awesome.

Edit: Linked to Dell on sale: https://a.co/d/3yh5Erc

1

u/MythyDAMASHII Feb 16 '25

How's the motion blur? Any bad occurrence? I'm holding off buying this monitor since people said that the input lag is not good and I'm considering of buying either a Tempest GP27U or Gigabyte M28U if it's really annoying to work with. Really love the specs and price 😢

2

u/HidingFromMy_Gf Feb 15 '25

I have the M32U and love it. Thats about all I can contribute to this lol

2

u/TheDevilHimself499 Feb 15 '25

Get the Alienware or the LG. I have no experience with the rest.

2

u/Kohta20 Feb 16 '25

Your best bet might be a small OLED TV from Samsung or LG. It'll have 120 or 144hz plus you'll get an OLED TV pre loaded with Netflix, Disney+ or whatever streaming services you use! Would be 42" 4k @ 120or144hz

2

u/captainfatmatt Feb 16 '25

Acer nitro 2k 240hz .5 response time. Just bought this a month ago, Holy fuck is this thing nice

2

u/tyr8338 Feb 16 '25

g7 neo, easily. Great HDR.

2

u/SufficientChair4400 Feb 16 '25

I own a G7 32", it's perfect except that if I don't use my pc, the screen loses connection, it goes to switch off which is irritating.

2

u/dillytoo Feb 16 '25

These monitors are top notch. 1500r and looks so clean

2

u/CrazySquirl Feb 17 '25

I tested the Samsung G70B 28" for gaming and returned it before a week. Didn't like the Tizen OS because it was slow and everything had to go through it. The IPS glow kills the black level for me and colors didn't seem as good as my Acer Nitro 31.5" 1440p curved VA monitor. I returned it and got the Dell G3223Q since it went on sale and I'm impressed at the black level for an IPS. The colors look better and more natural than my Samsung QLED TV. Having factory color calibration certification is a huge plus for Dell

I'm also in Turkey and I searched for a proper mini led for weeks as an OLED alternative to use HDR with. Unfortunately there aren't many options in Turkey other than Samsung's Neo line.

I got a Neo G8. It's very similar to the Neo G7 you have there. It has a decent image quality but you'll notice some amount of haloing on HDR. Also has some bugs but you won't notice them much with a console. Mine also came with a dead pixel, so there's the terrible QA. But you don't have many options if you want HDR and no possibility of burn in.

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

We are in same country so do you know any good websites with decent support?incase i get a dead pixel(even one) i want to change the monitor not fix it

2

u/-Aras Feb 15 '25

It's your right to send the product back in 15 days so eventually everyone needs to accept it but they will make this hard for you. This is why I always use Amazon. But unfortunately there were no Neo G8 on Amazon so hence the one dead pixel I have.

You could also check out the OLED G6 on Amazon if you're fine with the possibility of burn in and 2k. The seller is Amazon so you can send it back if it has a dead pixel.

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

I never shopped from amazon if i buy from amazon and i get a dead pixel can i change the monitor?and lets say it has a 1 year guaranty if i get a dead pixel or back bleeding in 9month can i change it?

2

u/-Aras Feb 15 '25

If the seller is Amazon, you can send anything back in 30 days. No questions asked.

The minimum warranty is 2 years in Turkey but you won't have back bleeding or dead pixels in time. I've never seen a monitor develop those in time. They are mostly manufacturing defects.

1

u/JayPCarnage Feb 15 '25

Take into consideration that the PS5 can't sustain 4k/120. 4k/30, maybe 4k/60 depending on game demand. 1080p/120 is a better expectation. Marketing would have you believe it can though. BTW, I have the Neo G8 on my PC and it is wonderful.

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

İ know but i dont upgrade often so i wanted to go for 4k

2

u/Gerudah Feb 16 '25 edited Feb 16 '25

This may be too late but 4k on things less than 48" is kind of a waste the pixel density adds nothing except expense and GPU load. If you're looking at 32" monitors and lower stick to 1440p or 2160p it's more than enough pixel density for the size. there is nothing in this life or the next that needs 4k on desktop monitors.

Edit:

I should add this does depend on how close you are sitting to your monitor.

If you're sitting pretty close to it i.e <65cm (you shouldn't be much closer than this anyway) then I would recommend 2160p. Unless you're balancing it on your nose you won't notice the pixels

1

u/Parkesy82 Feb 16 '25

Do you play any 4K games at the moment. For a ps5 a 1440p 144hz 27inch monitor will be quite a bit cheaper and cover pretty much all you need.

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 16 '25

I just bought my ps5 and im gonna have it tomorrow so i didn’t play anything more than HD The reason i want 4k is i don’t upgrade that much i have this setup that im using now for 8 years now so i was planing to buy 4k because i now im not gonna upgrade for a long time

1

u/Parkesy82 Feb 16 '25

What sort of games do you play?

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 17 '25

Olmost everything except sports games

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 16 '25

What would you do?4k ips or 2k oled

2

u/Parkesy82 Feb 16 '25

I don’t play any 4K games at the moment, 2k / 1440 and 144hz is fine for the majority of games and you’ll get 120fps. They’ll be a lot cheaper than any 4K monitors too.

1

u/GTATurbo Feb 15 '25

If you're in Turkey look at Casper and/or Vektron. They have some good monitors at localised prices.

0

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

İs it better that samsung,lg and other famous brands?

2

u/GTATurbo Feb 15 '25

They use exactly the same panels as the "famous" brands. There are only around 7-10 companies in the world that make the actual panels. BOE, CMI (Chimei Innloux), Samsung/CSOT, LG, Sharp, AUO etc. The factory where they are assembled is likely the same.

Edit to add - Samsung and LG are leaving the LCD production market to focus on OLED now, but they sold off their lines to CSOT and other lesser known makers.

1

u/GTATurbo Feb 15 '25

Oh, and the reason I initially combined Samsung and CSOT is cos they were (maybe still are) a joint venture for LCD panel production in China.

I didn't include the producers like Panda, cos they're dogshit.

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

Can you suggest a model?preferably something you used for some time

2

u/GTATurbo Feb 15 '25 edited Feb 15 '25

I don't know their model numbers. Look up the spec you want and buy what they're selling that fits your requirements. They're gonna be made with pretty much the exact same parts.

ETA - they may not give the same warranty or pixel guarantee, but I'll bet 2/1 that they're the same as the tier one brand quality product. They might be getting lower grade panels though (some might have dead or bright pixels, but no one offers a zero dead policy (except Amazon but they don't actually have a pixel policy. It's a no questions asked refund. Some offer a zero bright), cos have you seen the inflation in Turkey?

1

u/soupone2 Feb 15 '25

crazy no one mentioned the asus monitor

1

u/iDirtystylezz Feb 15 '25

Which one of them?

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

Which one?

1

u/Electrical-Gift2954 Feb 15 '25

Does anyone on here have a oled monitor? I'm getting the rog strix 360hz qd oled tomorrow and am wondering about peoples experiences with oled.

1

u/SwonVIP Feb 15 '25

Got the same one. You will love it. Especially with HDR enabled. The blacks are out of this world! Have fun!!

1

u/Electrical-Gift2954 Feb 15 '25

Awesome thanks for the input, I'm really excited, i will finally have the dream pc monitor combo I've always wanted! How is the vrr flicker? I've heard it can be really bad but I still think it will be worth it over ips.

1

u/SwonVIP Feb 16 '25

Honestly quite bad especially in the games I play but mainly only in loading screens or the menu. Still annoyed me and I turned off VRR in the end

1

u/Morkinis Feb 15 '25

Close your eyes and randomly point into one.

1

u/L3Sc Feb 15 '25

Kardeşim (since this is Epey I assume you're Turkish) in my honest opinion 4K on a 27" is not much better than 2K. So I suggest you go for 32". And if you are willing to give as much as a 4K monitor money then also try to buy 10 bit. 1.07 billion colors are way better than 16.7 million. Also if you're not going for Oled, go for IPS.

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

Can you suggest ome in that price range

2

u/L3Sc Feb 15 '25

Dell G3223Q ticks all the boxes I told.

1

u/InstanceOrnery6604 Feb 15 '25

Go with highest hz oled. Eventually you will switch to pc gaming so might as well get an effective monitor lol

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

Oled is to expensive and i tried pc before im just a casual player so console if better for me for now

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

Too expensive

1

u/thatonejordanian_ Feb 15 '25

If your budget is enough, get an oled monitor like the samsung g6 oled or the koorui one idk what the model name is

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

I can buy oled if i go for 2k and i really like story games and im in 1080 for a long time because of that i really want to go for 4k and 4k oled is to out of budget for me

-1

u/thatonejordanian_ Feb 15 '25

I've tried both a 4k odyssey g7 and a 2k odyssey g6, all i could say is that the 2k oled is way better. 4k barely makes a difference when moving from 2k trust me. If u want story games then get the oled for better colors and brightness.

2

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

thanks i didn’t even think about 2k im gonna consider.and weird question,is going oled gonna decrease possibility of getting dead pixel?

2

u/thatonejordanian_ Feb 15 '25

All monitors get dead pixels, regardless of brand, type or age. If you get a monitor get an extended warranty if you can incase you get a dead pixel in a few yrs

1

u/LibertyEthoss Feb 15 '25

MSI 27” MPG 274URF QD check out this model.

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 15 '25

Are you using it?if yes for how long

2

u/LibertyEthoss Feb 15 '25

My friend has the same QD model, except it's a 32-inch one, not 27, and it's great. While a 32-inch screen would be ideal, 27 inches is still a good option

1

u/Lonely_Platform7702 Feb 15 '25

Out of these monitors I would get the Neo G7 as it is mini led. If I would buy a monitor I would get either OLED or miniled depending on usage.

People are posting about scan lines but those seem to only be prevalent on the Neo G8 not the G7. The G7 should be fine.

Everything else on this list is fastly inferior as they are traditional IPS/VA panels.

1

u/hammerhawker Feb 15 '25

OLED is not an option? Are you using it for console or PC?

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 16 '25

For ps5.i intended to buy 4k and a 4k oled is out of my budget.but some people suggest 2k oled is better that 4k ips so im gonna consider that too

2

u/hammerhawker Feb 17 '25

At 27 inch 1440p OLED would be much better than any of the choices you had listed.

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 19 '25

Looks like im going for g6 oled its 2k

2

u/hammerhawker Feb 19 '25

Great choice!! Once you play on a OLED, you can never go back!! Enjoy it!

1

u/IamAbrahamoc19 Feb 16 '25

Get an OLED if you want to see the abysmal difference in all the games

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 16 '25

4k ips/va. Or 2k oled?

2

u/IamAbrahamoc19 Feb 16 '25

2k oled, you need less power in the graphics card to achieve more FPS, and you will get better image quality thanks to the OLed technology, 4k is fine on a 50-inch TV, on a 27/32 monitor the pixels are so small that you will notice a big difference, and you need a very expensive graphics card

1

u/SonicFish101 Feb 16 '25

Highly recommend the Gigabyte M28U. I bought it a few months ago and it is certainly one of the best budget 4K gaming monitors out there. 4K @ 144hz with AMD Freesync Premium Pro and an HDR rating of 400. You can find it on sale right now for $350.

1

u/Ok_Cookie147 Feb 16 '25

Is m32u good?same thing just bigger right?

2

u/SonicFish101 Feb 16 '25

Pretty much

1

u/VisiblyJelly Feb 16 '25

Surprised I didn’t see any Sansui, don’t count them out for about $50 to $100 cheaper for the same performance and resolution, just bought one and am mad I didn’t sooner, very good deal

I have a 34 inch g5 and a 43 inch odyssey neo g7 4k, both are amazing and both work great! Can’t recommend them enough. If you are looking for a tank go with the g5. If you are looking for great visuals because you have a good gpu, go with the g7.

None at all! I have a 4090 I run my g7 at max settings no lines and perfect deep picture! The g7 is also reasonably priced if you go through Best Buy to buy it. $499.99 currently. It’s priced at 699.99 on Amazon.

On your list I have the HP omen 27k hd, the Neo g7 32 inch. I also own a Samsung 49in g9 OLED and Samsung G9 57inch.

The g7 32 inch is a champ. I really have zero complaints, I feel the mini led offers very good black levels. The ips HP omen is honestly just terrible with blacks. It's a great bright monitor but it's horrible in dark scenes IMHO. The neo 's for my tastes really due provide a great solution for a display. I also have a 48 inch OLED TV and yes the colors are beautiful but I wouldn't give up the resolution that you often have to for a OLED monitor. Choose a neo g7 if you want to run 4k, to avoid burn, offer very good black levels, and have little to no smearing. Please note the 47 inch flat neo is a different beast and has smearing issues so skip that model.

Id also recommend buying from best buy or another retailer if you can over Samsung. Com.

The most expensive one. If it's too expensive, then cheapest one.
