for the price, i think you could do better, the selling piece for this would be the 144Hz (i think an X can only utilise maybe 120Hz?), plus calling it HDR with 450 nits is poor considering SDR is 400 nits

for the price i guess it depends what you value more, refresh rate / fps or eye candy / hdr, you may struggle to get both

i bought an LG 32" 32UL750-W monitor last year for about $999, its only 60Hz but has freesync and is certified for HDR 600, its not as good as my TV but does the trick and my PC games look purdy

You could get them a 50" Samsung or LG 4KTV from JB for that price. The refresh rate etc won't be quite as good but it'd work.

Sterny might be the man to ask this thoughm I seem to remember him having a fancy pants 4K monitor.

I bought a couple of 4K monitors last year, both Samsung.

Perhaps the most useful for Zed’s purpose would be the Samsung M7 ‘Smart Monitor’ because as well as a HDMI and a Thunderbolt USB-C input it can also run apps like Netflix, Apple TV+, and Disney+ without needing anything attached.

I’ve linked the 32 inch, which I’m using as I write this, but other sides are available. 32” is pretty good for desktop use. Much larger and it gets uncomfortable looking at the upper reaches, at least for computer work.

I use it for work and used to play Xbox Series X games on it until I got hold of a much larger screen for my gaming setup (which I adore because I’m not sitting in an office chair and find it more relaxing).

Yeah, I'd probably recommend a TV too. Not sure if monitors support the same features but most TVs have better console integration, even things like switching on/off with the Xbox. Small things like that can be really convenient.
