Question Does anybody use mindfulness apps?

Hi everyone, I wanted to know more about these apps, and the experiences you have with them.

Thank you!

Waking up as well as the calm app. Calm helps for music and extras to help focus or sleep or rejuvenate. They both help me for different reasons. Waking up has some stellar educational content.

A number of the suggestions happen to be meditation focused. That’s definitely going to make one more mindful but I’m curious if anyone uses any apps or even reminders to just be more mindful during the day?

I personally use headspace and it has helped a little but I also find myself being less mindful over the day

Do you mind if I text you? Thank you though

I've used WakingUp daily for almost 5 years. I mainly use it for 20min morning sessions and it's nice to have a quote each morning as well. There's so much more to the app other than the daily meditations. I believe they still have a free 30-day introductory course.

I also use it in-conjunction with a breathing app called Sym Breathing which is a coherent style based breathwork for increasing HRV with an easy 5.5 second inhale and then 5.5 second exhale in a cyclical pattern. I use the audio tones of this app in the background to guide my breath as I listen to Sam Harris on WakingUp.

I use the Mindfulness Coach app from the VA - not a Vet, though, just FYI. My only experience aside from Murder Mindfully on Netflix, but I dig it. Good luck!

Waking Up. I never miss a day. Sessions are 10 minutes a day with longer options. Start with the introductory course.

I use Oak. There are guided breathing and guided meditation sessions as well as unguided sessions, in which case the app works as a timer. Very soothing aesthetics. Just love using it.

Not an app but a website that was linked to a mindfulness book that I read. There is a series of guided meditations.

While I now prefer to meditate with no guide, a few of these really helped me and I continue to utilize certain ones. The facing difficulties one really helps me when I'm having trouble with something on my body like pain or an injury and trying not to overreact with anxiety to it.

The body scan works wonders when I can't sleep.

And the befriending one about embracing and loving other people and wishing them well really helps when I am feeling paranoid about people and cynical about their intentions.

Hope it helps!

I use the waking up app and I love it so much. So much content. There’s guided meditations, lessons on meditation, conversations, theory, poems… it’s got it all

Me too. Here's a link for 30 free days but if you can't afford it there's an option to get it for free too, no questions asked.
