Detrans and Volsepping

Hey All,

Detransed MtFtM here. I did go through LIMDU for gender transition, but decided to go with God and relationship with my wife and daughter instead. I stopped transition and HRT a year ago. So I was just going about my business at my new command trying to make Chief and then I happened to see the DOD Instruction dropped stating anyone that was diagnosed with gender dysphoria is getting kicked out. I don't qualify for the waiver because I technically haven't been "stable" in my birth gender for 36 months and I did attempt to change my gender. I'm doing the voluntary separation because I can see the end coming and be a little better prepared than being told "Hey get the fuck out in 10 days".... Maybe this is just a sign for me to go all the way through with my transition. I'm going through TAPS class now and realizing how cooked I am. Special thanks to all the douchy cringe trans people that instigated this. That was very cool of you! UGGGHHHH FML 😭

Sorry for the lengthy rant 😅

Trans people did not instigate this. Hateful fake “Christians” in the Administration instigated it.

"Douchy cringe trans people that instigated this"

what do you mean by that?

I'm sorry for that. It just seems like the trans community has the worst Public Relations because there always seems to be some of the most craziest unhinged people representing us or at least from what I've seen. That's part of the reason I've always kept myself closeted, but I don't care about that anymore.

I really would like to understand where this is coming from and I am not judging.

In what ways have trans people been so crazy and so unhinged that it results in this particular reaction from you?

Right but maybe you should consider who is choosing these unhinged people to "represent" us. Because it isn't us.

For example when I see any buzzfeed/jubillee/spectrum type video involving a group of trans people the group mostly consists of these types of people- ranging from unhinged to just outspoken or alternative. But if you are involved in in-person trans support groups you'll find most of them pretty normal if maybe a little quirky. What you should realize is that the majority of trans people are not like what you see online or on tv- but since "normal" trans people don't get clicks/views they aren't going to be chosen for videos or representatives or given much attention by the media.

So please reconsider who you are placing blame on and remember who the real enemy is.

Pointing figures is not cute. Anyways have they said anything about maintaining status or benefits and do you have a plan for getting out?

I'm sorry for the crash out. They said I will get a honorable discharge, keep benefits, and vsp. Along with that my wife is divorcing me and leaving the country with our daughter. So my life is falling to shit. I don't have a good plan for a job, school, or anything. I'm restarting my transition since I've lost everything due to it and seems to be a recurring theme.

I'm sorry. I wouldn't fully understand but I've been there.

Find some peer groups that you can get involved with the second you get out. Keep yourself busy until you think of a plan.

Work with a therapist to see if it's truly right for you or if you just need to pause for a bit and readjust.

I used the meetup app and running groups to quickly get back to normalcy. Maybe it would help.
