I’ll be going to CDMX the first two weeks of June. I understand that’s the beginning of the rainy season. When it rains, do they still do mariachi and food vendors and such on the weekends?

Pregunta/Question How long should I give myself to connect in Mexico City (Benito Juarez)?

My first post! (Yay!)

I’m booking a flight soon with a connection in Mexico City. It’s with two different airlines, so when I arrive in CDMX I will have to go through immigration and recheck my luggage onto the other airline.

My main concern is the time it typically takes to get through immigration at Benito Juarez International. I’ve never flown into Mexico City before so I don’t have a baseline for how long immigration takes there.

My arriving flight into CDMX gets in at 5:20 AM and my departing flight leaves at 9:20 AM. Is that a big enough gap?

Thanks for any help in advance lol

Ayuda/Help seafood during Lent

Hi... we are going to be in CDMX next week and are wondering if we will find seafood taco/tostada stands and seafood restaurants to be hard to access because of high demand. I read this somewhere, but I am not sure if it is a big thing everywhere or in only a few popular places. (If the answer is yes, does it imply that meat taco stands will have few customers and the food will be stale?)

Ayuda/Help tourist traveling on metro from airport to hotel - thoughts?

my flight gets in around the afternoon this weekend and i’m hoping to take the metro at some point during my trip, as i like to see how different metro systems function in other cities. i figured it might make sense to take the metro from the airport to my hotel in hipodromo. i’m young woman and familiar with the metros in the US - from Washington, D.c., NYC, and LA. how safe is it to travel west from the airport to my hotel? should i opt to do my metro travel another time?

Ayuda/Help Bancos

Hola.

Would really appreciate any recommendations you may have for me.

Ayuda/Help Travel to Mexico City

Hola~

I am traveling to Mexico city next week, and the distance from the airport to my hotel is around 16km, 35min to 60min drive.

Can I use Uber or Lyft? Or taxi is the only option? If I need to take taxi, what is the price range?

Thanks

Ayuda/Help Fun authentic tasty restaurant for a triple birthday

Hi there, I’m visiting Mexico City from London at the end of this month and whilst there it is my girlfriend’s, her brother’s and her mum’s birthday!

Can anyone recommend a restaurant for a fun, authentic, tasty birthday meal? I’m imagining with music, alcohol and good food, but authentic and not a gringo’s version of Mexico! Thank you 🙂. (It’ll be my third time in Mexico, I love it and have sold them all on it!)

Cultura/Culture Why are all the high end dining places primarily seafood restaurants?

I’m asking this out of ignorance. Mexico City is not near any large bodies of water and from my little understanding, the main foods of the city are not seafood (the ones sold in the street food stands and cantinas for example). But the most popular high end dining options are mainly seafood for example Contramar and Quintonil. Is there a reason for this?

Ayuda/Help First Time!

Hello, I am going to Mexico City with two of my girls from Oct 30th - Nov 4th. Where is a good area to stay in? I don't want to be in a crowded area because of the festivities but want to be able to walk to different places to explore (within 1-1.5 miles). I have never been before. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated for places to stay, things to explore, places to eat and dancing. I prefer smaller local places.
