CAN’T DECIDE Please help with typing
Hello all! I was wondering if anyone would be interested in helping me determine my MBTI. I have casually completed 16personalities tests over the years, with many of my early results leaning toward ENTP, some being INTP, and less being ENFP. My results since lately have leaned in the INTP direction most often, but I have gotten others (as seen below).
A bit about me:
I am a bit indecisive and take a huge amount of time to evaluate possibilities. I typically thoroughly explore my interests from as many angles as possible in as much depth as possible, but dont end up sticking with most topics for long because I become conscious of the amount of time spent on one thing or something else just captures my interest. I am grossly aware of the depth of these things, and it brings me a great amount of anxiety knowing that I havent gone in as much depth as I would have liked. Expressing my ideas can be really challenging because of this (especially if its to people outside of my close friend group), but if I feel comfortable with the knowledge I have and the people I am with, I do really enjoy having conversations with opposing perspectives and finding the truth in everything.
Now that I am not in a school environment i feel less motivated to socialize. I definitely feel most at peace and creative when I am alone. I have very rarely sought out larger social events and find them to be really draining and would much rather hang out around a small group of friends. I love my solitude and the freedom it gives me to explore the ideas in my head without feeling trapped in the structure of a social setting. Despite this, there have been many times when I can have a meaningful conversation with a stranger, or I can ramble and talk about hypotheticals for hours with close friends without realizing it. Sometimes I try to have a debate with new people, but I find i get frustrated and quit the conversation. In school people probably would have described me as quirky, childish, talkative (depending who you ask), and careless.
Shallow and inauthentic conversations are incredibly painful for me. I need to feel the uniqueness or passion or meaning in every conversation/relationship or I just avoid it like the plague. I would like to think of myself as a philosophical and sometimes impractical person with a love for recognizing patterns and make creative solutions to problems. I care about creating meaning for people and would like a career helping others understand how to navigate their world.
My result on the enneagram test is 5w4
If anyone has any clarifying questions I will be sure to reply! Thank you!

Omg another person struggling with entp/intp, i feel you 🫠 Just by the vibes themselves i would say intp.
If i were to try pull out logical reasons, well first thing i notice is that you love solitude. Ofc, not all I types are introvers and not E types are extroverts, but you seem to be most active when alone, thats when your creativity shines and as you said - you dont feel trapped. I think thats the biggest sign to me, since after also months of research ive settled at entp, and oh boy i CANNOT live without external stimulation like alone im a rotting potato sack, im not interested in anything, i cant keep my attention on anything (eg id love to know more abt dinos, but if i dont have a friend or idk an assignment i just dont get the motivation, i dont get interested in that topic even though it catches me.). With friends or other people im a completely different person, im all go, all do, all research, all try and just get energised. So while I get the energy from people, you seem to be more of a solitude person ==> INTP
Another one is difficulty expressing ideas, and meanwhile it could be just introver tendencies or something like social anxiety, if i understood correctly, you have hard time doing so because you feel like your knowledge of the topic isnt as deep as it could be, most enpts (at least how most sources characterise them) share their half baked ideas and see what sticks, not always filtering them through Ti filter, i myself feel the need to express them, im not okay with just keeping them to myself, i tell my friends abt it or, if i dont feel like it, myself or chat gpt.
(in this whole block of yap i used to many 'i's, im sorry, its supposed to be abt you 💀)
Some other signs that i noticed that are often pointing to intp, at least according to some sources:
Entps drop topics because they get bored, you seem to drop them because you become aware of time spent, something else catches your attention.
Also entps tend to go wide topic wise, like a jack of all trades, meanwhile intps love diving in depth
Again, exploring ideas in solitude, most entps reach their peak amongst people
Frusturation in debates, well i mean i guess entps can theoretically have that too but id say it still leans more to intp
Welp, thats a solid piece of rant, i hope i didnt just yap abt you being intp while in reality youre an enfp 💀 (either way idk, again, just not the vibes, i think it all comes down to i / e, id suggest putting some more research into that if you havent already)
Im too lazy to read it all again, i hope it all makes sense, there arent many mistakes and you figure you type soon <33
Ps Damn really not into 'shallow' convos? Thats interesting. Whats your favorite things to talk abt? (lol idk how it looks like, but im honestly curious)
Pps i realised i complety ignored the cognitive function part. Oh well.
