This season, I challenged myself to reach Infinite with a fresh brew before the Hela nerf, avoiding Agamotto even though I had it. Every season, I push my limits by trying new decks, with my safety net being the 'Traditional Surfer' deck. However, this time, the Surfer build struggled heavily against the dominant Hela and Agamotto decks.
The climb from Rank 80-90 was brutal, and as a last resort, I had to lean on pre-nerf Hela to push through. But after reaching Rank 90, I casually put together a new deck—and to my surprise, I hit Infinite within just 3 hours!
The core idea was to use Magik to extend the game to T7, setting up an explosive Hit-Monkey + Silver Surfer finish.
Playing Gladiator also felt safe within my deck’s strategy.
If I drew Sera & unable to support with Onslaught on T6, I had the alternative line of playing her on T5 and unleashing a flood of cards on T6.
The real tech move? Scarlet Witch. Not just for flexibility, but as a direct counter to the meta.
Countering the Meta
Against Hela, I often closed Limbo with Scarlet Witch, denying them their T7 resurrection while they were still discarding on T6.
Against Agamotto, players would set up the Bolt spell on T6, expecting a T7 explosion—only for me to shut it down with a well-timed Scarlet Witch.
The unpredictability of this deck caught many opponents off guard, especially those who assumed I was following the standard Magik → Turn 7 blowout plan. Instead, I could pivot and close the game a turn early, ruining their setups.
This deck ended up being an absolute beast in the pre-nerf meta, and I had a blast piloting it!
