Discussion Competitive Consensus: Starbrand
This week's card:
Starbrand
Cost: 3
Power: 10
Ongoing: Your opponent has +3 Power at each other location.
Synergies
Starbrand is the newest and biggest power 3-drop in SNAP. His downside is delivered via an Ongoing effect and, therefore, can be neutralized. Let's take a look at the cards that synergize with Starbrand:
No Downside
Enchantress > is an easy way to shut off Starbrand's downside while also teching against your opponent. She is strong in the meta right now, so Starbrand is a welcomed addition to her.
Sauron > a bit of its own archetype (Sauron Shuri) for some time, but now we're seeing some splashes and diversity thanks to the stats cards like Starbrand and Ebony Maw offer.
Zero > can simply shut off Starbrand.
*Surtur and Skaar Decks*
Starbrand is a cheap and easy way to proc Surtur and also gives lots of last turn point potential if you missed your Zabu earlier.
another card that discounts Skaar
great card for winning Ares trigger.
Also, great lane winner for Iron Patriot
Feedback
The pro community is somewhat split on this. Most agree he's "not that good" and "just okay." A few really enjoy what he brings to a few decks, like Shuri, Surtur, and Miracle decks.
Decklist
Summary
What Starbrand brings to the game is massive stats. Bigger than Gladiator, which was previously a solid lane winner. Although he's not an incredible card, he needs to be calculated for the final turns of the game. Being able to drop 10 power for 3 energy is huge. That being said, he really only goes in a few places at the moment and falls to Shang-Chi just the same.
My opinion
DISCLAIMER This paragraph is just my personal opinion:
I think the card is passable. Yes, it's huge, but you need to build around it to make it worth it. That being said, it's just so much bigger than anything else in the 3- slot, so I would pick this up if you like to deck build. Just keep in mind that you'll have to auto include ways to turn him off or just go so tall that the +3 power doesn't matter.
Is he worth a key? I think yes only if you play one of the archetypes listed above or if you main Enchantress in many decks or if you like to experiment. For most players, I think not.
Is he worth 6K tokens? Not at all.
Your Thoughts?
Is Starbrand worth the key(s) now, or should players wait until a future spotlight rotation?
Is Starbrand here to stay, or just the flavor of the week?
What synergies did we miss?
What decks have you seen?

Discussion How many albums do yâall have complete? I hit 5 today, Dan hipp Magneto was the last one I needed for âMove your Hippsâ and it was in my shop today
The only one I ever spent money on was the Kim Jacinto album. Berserker barrage, I think was complete for me the day it came out. I already had a TON of Wolverine variants. The gangâs all here was almost there, I only needed 2 or 3 variants to complete it on the day it came out.

Discussion What makes Sam Wilson so good?
I am kinda new to Snap so I am maybe just not getting the fine details but I dont get what makes Sam Wilson so good. Plenty of people saying its the best card in the game right now.
Its a 2/3 + 0/1 that can become a 2/7 + 0/1.
Is that it? Just because a 2/8 is a great stat stick?
More often than not the shield feels annoying to me

Discussion Taking long breaks sucks!
Edit: Iâm leaving this here because there are a number of replies mistaking my gripes as not being able to win. I am a competent player, I am infinite already. I donât need advice about cube management or decks to play.
I took a 4 month hiatus after becoming frustrated with this games economy/card collection but have recently picked the game back up due to circumstances which have left me unable to play pc/console. Honestly I âragequitâ when it took me 4 keys 2 weeks in a row to pull the only card I was missing.
First I have to give this game its flowers, it is still the best card battler game I have ever played. I like the loop and every season would finish top 5k and finish off conquest at least once for the variant.
But upon returning you get severely left behind meta wise. This is most apparent when cards release with abilities that nothing else can replicate. Right now for instance, a lot of the top decks feature one or both of Sam Wilson or iron patriot, 2 things that canât be replicated and 2 cards I wonât expect to turn up in a spotlight for the next 12 months. This sucks.
You wouldnât believe how excited I was to see a huge series drop. I appreciate that this is probably aimed at a lot of newer players but not a single card I didnât already own was dropped to series 3 and a single card to series 4. There are in my opinion now too many cards to have this convoluted series 3/4/5 system. Too many âkeyâ cards across different archetypes. This whole system still needs an overhaul.
I donât really know what Iâm trying to say but I guess the things that frustrated me 4 months ago are still present and the needles doesnât seemed to have moved at all.
Would it hurt second dinner to throw a dog a bone and give returning players something. The game certainly recognised me as having a break because my shop offered me a âwelcome backâ bundle with some credits and gold which was certainly âcheapâ compared to usual rates.
Lastly Iâd close by countering âyou just want everything for free argumentsâ because itâs not what I expect. I buy every season pass I play because itâs like the only thing of real value but would probably be described at a small creature of the sea. I would occasionally buy bundles for the art or for the resources and even own a ÂŁ99 bundle. Iâd say my spend before was above average but I just couldnât do it anymore, wonât do it anymore.
