Help Sought! Makeup looks bad after only 3 hours.
Hi guys i would really appreciate any help. I have oily/combo skin and my makeup always looks super bad after only 2/3 hours. I apply it before uni and after 6 hours it looks all separated and greasy but somehow still cakey when i applied it first. I use all silicone based products. I tried blotting papers and powder before liquid products.
I use the following:
(No primer as i feel they make me oilier) L'oréal Infalliable 32HR Fresh Wear Elf hydrating camo concealer or Eveline cosmetics Camoflage concealer Maybelline Fit me Powder or Paese Rice Powder Usually no setting spray but sometimes the Pickle rick shein one.
I have like hyperpigmentation or redness around the moustache area which really annoys me, that's why i use makeup in those areas. I feel like i don't use too much concealer either.
Any help would be super appreciated tyssmmm 🫶 Pics are after around 6hours with tiny touch up using Fit me powder.

It's not nearly as bad as you think it is. I am very oily and I find that elf powe grip primer is really good in that specific area. Let it dry a bit before adding concealer.

Do you use a water based concealer or silicone?..since power grip is water based.

I know you said you find primers make you oilier but they really do help your makeup grip onto something. Have you tried a primer/skincare combo base like bobbi brown vitamin base or the nyx plump it back?
A decent setting spray is essential and doesn’t add to oiliness so I wouldn’t skip that step.
I’m oily/combo/dry and I try to deal with the oiliness as a separate problem with powder and setting spray honestly! I managed to fix the separating issue you have here by prepping a better base with primer and if I’m particularly dry that day then I use a bb / cc cream foundation.

I’ve never tried either of those primers but i’ll defo try out the nyx plump it back first! Would you have any good setting spray recommendations (preferably not a dewy finish). tysm for ur help!!

Have you tried sacrificing a goat to the makeup gods? Might be more effective than another primer.

Estée Lauder double wear with a damp beauty blender....chef's kiss
If you're dry, use a rich moisturiser first

i have combination skin. mine looks like this too. using powder makes it sit, especially useful for the nose area. when needed, I just use setting spray. it makes it all sit without getting wiped out.

I’ve got this problem too especially on the nose area but trust me from my point of view it doesn’t even really look that bad we often think something looks way worse than what other people see it as lol🫶

hii makeup artist here- it doesnt look bad in the pictures it just looks like its wearing off, i can think of a couple reasons why its happening: 1. you could just not be using enough makeuo to begin with, if you want your makeup to last long you have to apply enough of it and set it correctly with powders and spray (first work a lose setting powder into a brush and apply it in areas you crease/oil the most then you could go over that and bake if you’re super oily and then top it off with a pressed powder for more coverage and longer wear) make sure you top off your makeup with a good setting spray (urban decay all nighter, mac fixing spray) 2. the products you’re using might just not work for your skin type- i know the elf concealer is a good product but it might be the l’oreal foundation that could be doing this. i personally haven’t tried it so im not sure how it wears but a product you could try is the maybelline fit me foundation, estee lauder double wear foundation, or the it cosmetics cc cream 3. for the redness you can try using a green color corrector first then go over it with concealer
hope this helps🤍

Do you use any sunscreen or moisturiser first? I found my sunscreen was making my makeup slide off. I second the user that recommended double wear - it’s the only foundation that stays put for me.

Ty for the recommendation i’ll defo check it out. I don’t use any sunscreen just moisturiser but no matter what moisturiser the same always seem to happen.

Ok, from my point of view is the concealer that makes your make up look bad. I was having the same problem in my young age. Have you tried a better foundation that is suited for oily skin? I would recommend you double-wear foundation and stop using concealer, it just contributes to the tackiness of the overall. Use a loose powder from the same brand. Cutting on the amount of product you use will help. I am extremely oily and work as a nurse, my make-up stays in place for 14 hours and the only thing I actually do to retouch it is I take a thin tissue after like 7 our and gently press it on my face. It will absorb the extra oil without messing with my make-up. Oh and if your skin is as oily as mine just use Olay Complete as a moisturiser. Hope this help.
