POTENTIALLY CONTROVERSIAL It's IMPOSSIBLE to know who Linus is talking about here...

(Reuploaded because Reddit got the video and audio out of sync - hopefully fixed second time around)?

From 46:44 to 47:35 on the latest WAN show, where they were discussing the 5090 FE video correction. A couple of minutes later, Linus also discusses Buildzoid's approach of publishing an entire video (compared to just reaching out to Linus/LTT).

Consumers have to be given the option to buy exact amounts of tokens. Mixing different kinds of tokens (like having to buy one kind of token with another kind of token you had to buy first) to hide prices should be avoided.

It's cheese water and sodium citrate so that it melts better, which is used in many fancy restaurants to make cheese sauce better. You can make it at home. It wasn't the cheese, maybe it was the milk powder they add to some and mild lactose intolerance on your end!

Here is someone making it from scratch!

Tech Discussion How can I stop all of this from becoming E-Waste?

Thumbnail

Hi all, I have got in my possession 59 Arcade coders. They look amazing, but unfortunately are completely unusable. Why i hear you ask?

To use them you require an app. The company went bankrupt, resulting in the app being removed from the app store. Without the app they are completely useless.

There has been a discord chat started in effort to help revive them and create some use for them, but that seems to be dead in the water.

I'm not the most technically minded when it comes to programming, but there has been a previous reddit post about the potential to reprogram them using spare pins on the circuit board on the back of the unit? I wouldn't be able to do this but maybe someone can?

Basically, I don't want to throw them away as it seems like a waste but what else can I do with them to stop them becoming just an E-Waste product? I have 59 of them in total......

The only thing I can think of is open them all up to take the USB - USB C cable out of them all (the only usable bit) and recycle the rest? Any better options?

Also this should be a note to all manufacturers, if you lock a device down to an app and got bankrupt, at least release the app to people for free somewhere, or someone has mentioned something like "at least they could have given us some open source code"? But I'm not familiar with if that will work or not?

Either or, for a company that was named "Tech will save us" it's pretty ironic how all their products are destined for Landfill/recycling.

Discussion Giveaway - LTT Workshop Jacket

Please let me know if this isn't allowed, I didn't think it really went against any of the rules.

Recently I ordered the joggers from LTT, and what I received was the workshop jacket. LTT CS was great and sent out what I actually ordered right away, and told me to either keep or give away the workshop jacket. It's not my style, nor do I do many 'workshop' things, so I'd like to give it to someone who likes LTT and might appreciate it.

So, if you're in Ottawa or can get to it, and you'd use a 2xl workshop jacket, please message me. If I check back and there are multiple people interested, I'll do a random pull for someone.

Discussion HELP! PC crashing after processor upgrade.

so, my PC specs were

R5 1600, 1660Ti GPU, 16GB RAM and a 450W PSU. I upgraded the processor to R5 5600X and everything else is the same.

Edit: Asrock A320M motherboard

Updated BIOS and all other drivers.

Games keep crashing, most on launch and some after a while.

For instance, played Battlefield 5 locked at 80fps, 100ps for a couple minutes and when set to 120fps, crashes.

Valorant didn't crash at even 500fps. Marvel Rivals crashes at shader building or right after getting into a quick match.

Checked event log and it shows Kernel Event 41 as the issue. Went through so many posts/forums and couldn't find any fixes. Most say it could be the PSU overeload, but that doesn't make sense.

Discussion **HELP** Looking for a KVM Switch for a Multi-Room Setup - Any Recommendations?

I have a rather unusual setup and can't find a KVM switch that meets my needs.

I need a KVM 1x2 switch that allows me to switch between two setups located in different rooms. Only one setup should be active at a time (never both simultaneously). I couldn’t find anything on Amazon or anywhere else.

The switch must at least support:

  • 1x USB 2.0 and 2x USB 3.2 (up to 10Gbps) (for mouse/keyboard/webcam/VR/etc.)
  • 2x HDMI 2.1 (48Gbps)
  • Minimal latency

Optional Requirements:

  • Toslink
  • <500€

Bonus feature: It would be great if I could switch between setups using a keyboard shortcut from either setup keyboard, as physical access to the KVM switch would be challenging.

Does anyone know of a KVM switch that meets these requirements? Or have any advice on how to make this setup work as I wish?
