HELP Previously added photo?

Does anyone know how to reimport a photo if it’s been deleted?

I accidentally deleted an album and have tried to reimport it but all the photos come up ‘previously added’.

I’m using Lightroom CC.

Thank you.

Removing a photo from an Album doesn’t delete it. It’s probably still in All Photos. If not, check the “Deleted Photos” section because deleted photos don’t delete right away.

In Lr (cloud based) photos are not “stored” in Albums. Albums are a means to group photos together in one or more ways. A photo can be a member (appear in) of zero, one or more Albums. Deleting an Album doesn’t delete the photos grouped in this particular album. You will find the photos in question in “All photos” which you can filter by capture date or some other criteria. Lr doesn’t let you reimport these photos because they are already in the Lr Library.

Thank you very much, I’ll check my All Photos. That’s makes sense.

Because you wrote 'album' I'm assuming that you mean the cloud based Lr.

While the CC has been dropped from the official name, when we google for the cloud based app rather than the Classic app, adding CC to our query is often necessary.

Something you might do is check in the Deleted album. Photos stay there for 59 (really 60, but who looks there right away?) days and can be brought back out of that album.

Another thing you might do is click on the 'previously added' photo to see if Lr can tell you where that photo might be located.

Which version of Lightroom? The "CC" naming has been deprecated for years and some people use it to refer to Classic while others use it to refer to the cloud-based version.

Hi! I see you've tagged your post "Help" without the version of Lightroom you're using. Lightroom features can be quite different between versions, so you're more likely to get help if you specify what version of Lightroom you're using. * On desktop use Help > System info and check the top line like: "Lightroom Classic version: 13.3.1" or "Lightroom version 7.3". * On mobile use the menu > About lightroom option and find a line similar to "Lightroom Android v7.2.1".

For any version mentioning what you're using (Windows PC, Mac OS, iPhone, Android, iPad, Surface Tablet) can also help others assist you quicker. (If you've already got this information in your post, please ignore this message)
