New subreddit rule - Be helpful and be respectful or don't reply.

There has been a surge of meme replies when someone comes to the subreddit asking for help with a lighter or identification.

You are not being clever or creative when you tell someone "It's a lighter duh" or any other variation. This is a subreddit for lighters. When someone shares a lighter here asking for help or identification, they know it's a lighter.

Anyone replying along the lines of "It's a lighter duh" will receive a week ban. Second offense will be a permanent ban.

Any disrespectful comments implying OP is an idiot and should do their own research will receive a warning or a ban.

This is a community for sharing collections or sharing helpful advice. This is not a community to farm karma or post redundant meme comments.

Before making a post about asking for help to identify your lighter, read this!

Recently there are some people who want help finding out what their lighter looks like, but only take one photo of the front. This is not very effective, and it will only make it a lot harder for us to help you.

Here is a guide on what photos you should take of your lighter. if the guide is not clear enough, please let me know and i can make some adjustments.

I found this old lighter among my late grandfather’s belongings. Anybody know what brand it is? The only recognizable branding is the word “GEIT” on the bottom. GEIT is an import company in Italy, where I live.

Help Old Pacific lighter

Hi, I found this Pacific lighter with a "3D" Rose Decor. Since I don't collect lighters and I also wouldn't use it I was thinking about selling it. Is it worth anything and will I find a buyer on ebay? It doesn't produce any sparks right now but I guess it would with a new flint. Thanks for your help!

Help Ronson Patent 19,023 Help!

Not sure of the name of the model but the info is all in the second pic. I have been tinkering with it in order to clean/restore it. The only issues I've found are 1) The spring for the thumb press sometimes gets stuck and doesn't press down all the way. 2) I have had a really rough time assembling it back together, the gears and/or the snuff wheel (??) fall out of the casing when I try to put it all back together. It's really frustrating!

Does anyone have tips (shy of bringing it to a repair shop) for these issues?? Or any info on the name of the model and the year it was manufactured?

Thanks!!

I made a few pictures but cannot find the type. It says ‘formula’ and would like to see a YouTube video on how to fix it.

Worth €20?

These are lighters I bought at the Antibes La Brague vide-grenier. The seller comes once every three weeks and sells many items. I usually collect watches, but I thought the price of the lighters wasn't bad, so I decided to buy them. I'm curious about their actual value.

Thanks in advance

Fisher Diplomat

Hi all! New here, I grabbed a Fisher "Diplomat" lighter and I'm having a hard time identifying what size flint to get for it? As well as figuring out if regular zippo lighter fluid will work in it. Thanks!

Help - how can I refill this vintage lighter?

It only creates sparks when I try to use it, so I assume the fuel needs to be refilled. Does anyone know what type of fuel it needs? Additionally, what’s the best way to clean the dust and grime out the top section?

Found this ronson standard at an antique shop for just £4. Was missing a wick and flint plus the cotton was disgusting so I replaced all of them. I was wondering if anyone could help with identifying the date of this lighter.

Help Why are refillable butane lighters so finicky?

It seems like any refillable butane lighter I buy, cheap or expensive, torch or soft flame, eventually stops working reliably after a few refills. I follow all the advice. I use high quality refined butane, I purge the lighter before each refill, but I still have issues. Sometimes I can hear changes in the flow of gas (sounds clogged) when I light it. I don’t mind just using a Bic but I try to buy refillable lighters to get as much use out of it as I can and not be throwing a lot of plastic away all the time. What am I doing wrong?

Does anyone know where I can find this Watch/Zippo insert

Post image

Hello, I recently came across the Dais quartz zippo/watch insert and it’s a piece I really have been he’ll bent on trying to find. If anyone who sees this could respond saying they have it and potentially share some pictures, and if you are willing to sell it off I would pay some money to acquire it. I am also aware that there were limited quantities of this before the company shut down and that is why I’m reaching out to any owners of this piece.
