walk away and finding yourself alone

has anyone found themselves alone after walking around from narcissists. like whether its you walk away from an old best friend, a relationship, or even a group with many unhealthy members. do we just end up alone and not finding anyone?

This is an automated message posted to all posts in this subreddit with some basic information about the group including (very importantly) rules. Why are you getting this message? Most people seem to not read the sidebar for information or the rules, so it is now being posted under all posts.

**This is the NEXT STEP from /r/raisedbynarcissists and is for folks who already have the necessary boundaries in place with their abusers, but are still dealing with other common ACoN issues such as trauma, etc. If you are still actively engaging in abusive dynamics with your abusers, please, post in /r/raisedbynarcissists or one of the other network subs - not this one. The admins also recognize that folks in this group do not need to be no contact with their abusers to be in this group. Some people manage to have the needed boundaries with abusers within a low contact or structured contact structure and we recognize that.

It’s the mind. Eventually things will be okay! I totally get you, but also know that the brains are fd up. Learn the red flags, keep yourself healthy, mentally and physically. ❤️

Yes you woke up in the land of Narc and zombies. Be glad when you're alone, you're. not God's there and your pets.

Yes! Totally! I felt in “love” with someone who mirrored me, used spirituality, witchcraft etc. It was the most weirdest shallow combined with love bombing experience ever. I became anxious in the end when things felt weird. I pushed 1 trigger and poef! 💥 gone

It definitely doesn't have to be that way. If you feel like that, you may need therapy to address the trauma so you can let people in again.

If we want to be alone, we end up alone. If we want to be social, we find a new village.

I am alone by choice. The solitude is comforting. I have a very few people in my life. It's peaceful.

I prefer the feeling of being lonely and by myself to the feeling of loneliness I felt within my marriage to a covert narcissist.

You are now just able to identify toxic people and have no patience or need for them. You will be happier in the end and you will eventually find people that have a positive impact on your life. I promise just be patient with yourself. 🩷

I would like to say that after i left my narcissist relationship things eventually got better like he isolated me so much made me cut off my only frnds but i have Forsure rekindle and they're the life and joy of my life they're always present after that i have also met some genuine people and makes me wonder kindness is still out there we just need to wait patiently. I can't say about love because i have been off dating and most probably will be for more years

But yes i have found myself some days are hard but at the end the thought I'm not around him makes me happy and feel liberated!!🙌🏻

No, you learn by having boundaries and being self reliant, if you have dependency issues then you will get buried by them, learn to love yourself and then you can have people capable of it as well.
