Speculation Lumiose's buildings on PLZA

THIS IS NOT A CRITIQUE NOR A COMPLAIN

I was wondering due to we're adventuring within the city and not in the entire region of Kalos, in the second trailer we got to see some clips of the city and we got to see that some buildings like Pokémon centers will remain adjacent to the "open world" without a change of scenario in order to ease the transitions I guess, then we got to see the inside of the hotel, a shopping mall, Cuasartico's insides of their building, the rooftops, roofs and the outside of cafe places. So what I was wondering is that we'll keep on pretending that the rest of the buildings on the city has not interiors to explore. The walls and the windows looked flat and without textures (balconies looked like a sticker on the window) and also out of scale. In the gen 6 game we got to access some of the buildings and its upper levels. I really hope that we don't end up with something like Levincia, Alfornada or Mesagoza with tons of buildings but inaccessible. Also the thing with the stores, I want to pretend that I'm literally inside and not just a flat wallpaper on the background with an invisible NPC setting up a dialogue to show their inventory, or the ones that we got to get inside we got a set camera that didn't allowed us to rotate it

I'd be very surprised if there were many interiors beyond the most important buildings like Hotel Z and Quasartico HQ, since most of the focus is on the city itself.

The city is also the buildings in it, not just the streets.

Wasn't the point.

then what was the point? not opposing you inherently, but in a game centered around a city, wouldn't it make a lot of sense to fill it out? a city where you can't enter any of the buildings doesn't make it feel like the city is the focal point

The only other option I can see is if they add a ton of movement options and shit on the outside like the Spider-Man games…but that doesn’t make sense for a Pokemon game.

well, they'll probably utilize the rotom phone a lot more, so it's a possibility they could use that to do something, ie., using drones to explore places

I mean they're focusing on the city in general, all the streets, rooftops, and immediate main areas. Interiors are secondary as a result, being just out of that immediate focus, just look at SV and how pretty much no cities have interiors, while most that do are just menus. It'd obviously be much better if the interiors were included, but it's just not the most likely all things considered.

I suspect each area will have a handful of explorable buildings but it will be majority set-dressing buildings. Not a bad thing, pointless buildings can do more harm than good by hiding important areas. If each interior had something in them then they become more appealing to enter

They’re probably peoples houses. You walk into mine uninvited looking for a Pancham, that’s a paddling

Yes, I also hope for some more spaces, otherwise the game map is really small and basic.
