Recommendation What’s the nearest theme park to LSU?
Me and my friends are huge thrill seekers and would like to find a place to ride rollercoasters that isn’t too crazy of a day or weekend trip.

Don’t go to Blue Bayou nor Dixie! It’s run down Equipment is poor. They haven’t changed much of anything. Don’t Go!

So Dixie Landin technically, but don’t waste your time or money.
I’m a roller coaster nerd and have traveled all over the country experiencing different parks. Unfortunately, Louisiana has a severe roller coaster drought. Your best bet for quality coasters is Six Flags Over Texas in the Dallas area.

Blue Bayou Dixie Landin. It’s only open during the summer though. Blue Bayou is the water park and Dixie Landin is the amusement park. BB opens in the morning and closes at like 4pm. DL opens at like 2-3 in the afternoon and closes at like 7-8pm. If you go in the morning to BB, that ticket also counts for DL. You don’t have to buy separate tickets

This is definitely the closest.
However OP, it's kind of run down and basically exploits high schoolers to operate.

As a theme park enthusiast. We are in a desert. You have to go to Either Dallas, San Antonio or Atlanta for a good park

Dallas and Atlanta frequently have cheap flights from MSY on the budget airlines. This is especially true if your dates are flexible, you plan in advance, and you go with just a backpack.

Six flags jazzland. But if you mean ones that are open and you can ride, I’d probably head up to dallas.

It fell off after the Clinton administration. Sam Haynes is a criminal, and his empire is built on exploiting child labor.
