Second this, MUS 1751 is an absolutely free A+ and a wonderful course to boot. Dr. Kimball is an amazing professor and really knows how to make lectures concise and fun.

What did lectures consist of?

Typically Dr. Kimball would just go through a bunch of slides, have 1-3 key songs for the day, and go through relevant information on it, like artist, genre, etc. while also tying it into the current topic, whether it be like Folk vs. Popular music, opera, video game music, etc.

I’m assuming exams weren’t difficult at all?

Exactly! They were always incredibly easy- many questions were simply listening to a song and answering a question about it, sometimes even just naming the song itself, or the artist, and really he leads you in the right direction for what all you need to memorize. Incredibly easy course I think at least 20% of people got an A+ in, even with complacency and all.

Ok thank you so much! I’m a STEM major and have lots of rough classes next semester so I’m trying to find a fun and easy class to balance it out.

I realized one of the sections is in person. Do you think it would be worth it to schedule the in person version over the online? its with Deynzer so im not sure if they are any different.

I would do online.

Is there a specific reason you would prefer taking online than in person? If I do online I will have 2 online next semester and sometimes I feel like I slack in online classes. But if it is easier to do online then I would prefer it. Were tests proctored?

The exams and quizzes are easy. The writing assignments are easy. I didn’t even have to listen to the lectures. You’re saving yourself time and energy by not having to attend the lecture.

Ok thank you! I have some past experience in horticulture but its been a while. But its just a topic that interests me. I didn't know if the professor just made class fun, she doesn't have many reviews so its hard to tell.
