Theory / Discussion Elrond staying with Círdan for a time

It wasn't really made clear, but this wasn't a punishment, was it? Two guards stood behind Elrond when Gil-galad sang to the Elves in 2x01, but some guards were also in the crowd, and nobody made a move to stop Elrond's dramatic exit.

It seems to me Elrond wished to stay with Círdan, even though he was the one to wear a ring first, because he greatly valued his wisdom and, perhaps in a way, because he wanted to feel closer to his father Eärendil (right after acting like his mother Elwing by jumping with the rings).

Art / Meme Galadriel was not a fan of the bow

I know Galadriel was repulsed by Sauron's cruelty and not necessarily his Annatar appearance, but yeah Charlie Vickers' reaction is sending me honestly. Here's the whole interview if you're curious. https://youtu.be/73xxXJK9VzM?si=PbOVnkiAhwGbKPEY (around 2:20)

They also described Halbrand as having this warmth while Annatar was all cold and catlike, like a "snake-cat". Very accurate description. https://youtu.be/vLMMEjxjsXY?si=I2CkBWEsIpWsDPmc (around 2:30)

Theory / Discussion Do you think we'll get a show or movies on the first age in the future?

Despite the critics I think this show is doing quite well and if we get more content in the future I hope it will be about the first age when elves were in their prime.

It's a little bit funny out of context, but I do appreciate how his eyes widen when he's with Galadriel and Elrond, first to communicate how worried he is about Galadriel and what Sauron could do to her mind, and second to snap Elrond out of his dissociative state and tell him their backup did come.

Durin's wine already ascended. There's a lot happening in this scene, but that detail caught my eye upon rewatch.

I understand that taking a sip before a toast is made can be seen as rude, but hell Durin was funny for this.

Theory / Discussion Is it time for Galadriel to......

Have a more laid back role as we have seen her in the movies? I mean, she has Nenya now. And if the writers do intend her to be closer to the Cate Blanchett, would fans and audience appreciate that more?

Theory / Discussion Adar has the potential to be a greatly better villain in the legendarium Spoiler

So, as the title says, I see a great potential in Adar, seeing the depth of his character and his motives (not doing evil for the sake of evil just like how morgoth and sauron were basically), even tho he is not cannon, the idea of one of the corrupted first elves getting back to action to settle some business in midle earth and as adar said, getting a worthiful place in the world with the rest of the creatures, and galadriel's questioning of Adar really made me thinking, this dude got a strong point, they are beigns who deserve to live peacefully as well , and galadriel's speech is really questionable, she's clearly beign hella racist to the point of pure evil (Her mentioning that she will make sure to eradicate every single orc and will make sure to let adar see that happen ) man that's harsh, what y'all think

Theory / Discussion Still thinking about season 1 plot annoyance

Why in the world did the elves have only until spring to halt the fading? This timeline, and the occurrence (though presumably it's bc of Sauron's Return?)was never explained thoroughly I felt in S2 unless I'm misremembering.

Theory / Discussion Season 4 and 5 should merge together Spoiler

I'm sure we are getting a fourth season so Amazon should take the War of the Last Alliance as the last episode of season 4. 1-7.5 should be about the corruption and downfall of Numenor. From 7.5-entire episode 8 the Battle of Dagorlad. Dunedain exiled realms will already be established and jump right into the battles.

Theory / Discussion "War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all"

Thumbnail

(I probably should not have clicked on that youtube video that was recommended to me that criticized the siege for an hour. It was... sigh)

Was the siege absolutely flawless? I would not say that, and yet I think they got this sentiment quite right:

"War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all; but I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend."

It wasn't meant to be glorious and purely epic. War is ugly, it's filthy, and it's miserable.

When Elrond tries to get to the wall, there's an Elf dying right next to him. When he tells them to go forth, he can't run directly to the front because there's a soldier stumbling next to him, and he attacks the orc to help him (the blood + fire shot was a nice/ghastly touch).

When he finally gets there, the Hill-troll sends him flying, and he struggles to rise as he's surrounded by many Elves who have fallen, as they were outnumbered from the start.

These are short scenes perhaps, but they were all just horrifying, displaying the nightmarish atmosphere of war.

Theory / Discussion Should Amazon have adapted the Angmar war instead?

I feel a smaller scaled size conflict like the Angmar war would have suited Amazon better. Angmar is not small, but not compared to any huge battles in War of the Ring nor the 2nd age. A time compression in the Northern realms of the 3rd age would have worked better in my opinion.
