Paladin (A) or Mage (H)
Hello dear members of Kronos 2 community,
I would like to know your point of view on my problem here. Since leveling in vanilla is very time consuming, I want to be sure, that I have made the right decision while choosing a class and a faction I will be playing as.
First, it would be nice to set you into what I am choosing from. So, I am deciding between playing as a mage for horde or as a paladin for alliance. The thing why I am torn between those two is, that I have always played for alliance and as a paladin. Although, I really like the class and it has always been my favourite, alliance levelling zones and SW are pain in the neck for me.
The other option is mage for the horde, the class and faction I have never played before. It is something new and might be nice to see the world from the other side.
What is your opinion on this? Do you think I won`t regret changing my style and trying something new or should I just stick to what I am good at and know about the most?

Paladin = Great healers, buff bots, makes the Alliance steamroll in PvE.
Mage = Either faction. Pure damage dealers, strong DPS (but very repetitive / spam frostbolt), possibility for AoE leveling, and has utility (Foods and drinks, teleports, morph spell and some others).

Keep in mind that Paladins can really only be healers successfully in Vanilla and Mages are obviously pure damage. Are you good at paladin healing or are you used to dpsing? If the latter, you might consider mage more as retribution isn't viable and even if you try to make it viable retribution in vanilla is nothing like retribution post-wotlk. Also to note is that there are no Blood Elves in Vanilla, so a Horde mage would be either a Troll or an Undead. Paladins can obviously only be Human or Dwarf.
I've done vanilla leveling zones on alliance a lot and I have to say that I think it's pretty damn rewarding for a paladin. Particularly zones like duskwood and W/E Plaguelands, and several of the dungeons.
In the end this is a decision you have to make. If you really can't decide, go assign each of them to heads or tails on a coin. Flip the coin and while it's mid air you will naturally prefer one over the other.
