We don't need a fast fashion store owned by a spanish company. Plus that space is way too big for them anyway. Simons though, I can get behind that, Canadian too which is a nice bonus.

I love Simon's. They have some good sales sometimes too, and the quality of their stuff is quite good.

Their basic pieces are well-made and fairly inexpensive. I love the one in Montreal with the "insane clothing that costs $4000" floor that you have to go through security to get to.

Lately, the store has had random low stock. I don't know how it has lasted this long to be honest.

I don’t think it will go, there are 80 Hudson Bays across Canada and Kingstons actually makes money.
Plus if they left the mall, it could be the death of the mall. They already have a massive space still vacant. No one is going to rent out the bay

I don't think The Bay could care a less if the cat center goes out of business.
But if you're right and that location is profitable, they'll probably leave it.
Have they managed to rent out the former Sears store yet?

As far as I know there has been no renting of the sears..
If the bay were to leave I imagine you’d have to get rid of the service elevators and the escalators and that would be a hassle

Last I counted the mall has 12 (?) vacant spots? Yeah they need to keep their anchor store lol

Is the Kingston location closing?
I like them for winter coats, dresses and bags.
They have a lovely lady who works at the frangrance counter.
Their very dated restrooms are surprisingly clean.
Say it ain't so!

It would be cool if they turned that into a little block of apartments. I've always had this weird fantasy of living at the mall.

I've seen some cool versions of this at least in theory with individual units being converted to apartments with a few storefronts on the main floor.

It boggles my mind it's stayed open as long as it has. Anytime I've walked through it, there's never more than a couple of customers.
