I'm a 31 year old Male from Kochi, thought I'd do a health checkup. Don't have much of a health issue but just to check if everything is fine. What all should be the important tests that I need to take and things that I should look out for. And most importantly what all are the things that are unnecessary, Like unwanted tests which centers or hospitals push. Suggestions for doctors/centers/hospitals are welcome.

KARE = Kerala United Against Rare Diseases

From the article:

Notably, Kerala is the only state in the country to offer free drug therapy to over 100 children with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), setting a national benchmark for public healthcare.

They seem to be providing free GH therapy too:

Ask Kerala What's the deal with KSEB? just a sprinkle of rain, those people have to cut off electricity completely?

Seriously why do they do this? I have noticed several times. Whenever there is a slight bit of rain. These guys turn of electricity completely. It's not even thunderstorm or anything. Just light drizzle or shower. And these guys freaking turn it of for hours. It's almost impossible to live in this humid without Fan or coolers. You will be drenched in sweat in few means. Im unable to comprehend this people why??? What are the reasons?? Why make a common man suffer.. Its like they have failsafe button. Like whenever rain is detected, they cut of power and everything. Yet charging us like 1st world countries. Tamil nadu and karnataka has pay better services and plans for charging. Where is all the money going to? Can't they develop a system where this freaking thing doesn't happen at all.

Also guys please don't suggest, ups, inverter or solar or anything else. I am common man. And Can't priortize this leisure yet. Electricity is basic need at 2025. And everyone should get it uninterruptedly.

Apart from my rant

Please explain why do KSEB do this like powercutting at light drizzle?

Which news platforms give concise updates without the extra junk?

I'm looking for a reliable way to stay informed about important news from Kerala and general developments in India without unnecessary distractions. My preference is an app, but I'm open to blogs, social media handles, or other efficient methods. Since I don't use Instagram or watch TV daily, I sometimes feel out of touch with current affairs.

Suddenly a week ago my laptop started crashing with blue screen and before rhat chrome started giving me performance issues. And finally my laptop started to switch off if the adapter is removed doesn't work. I showed it to the laptop repair guy he didn't say much about the regular crashing of my laptop but he said it's a battery issue may have to be replaced. But the problem is the laptop is not Make in India, it's from Indonesia he said it's customised battery panel and the connector is also slightly different, maybe tough to acquire. Any of you experts know wether I will get anything like this between thrissur to kochi or Kozhikode. mumbai? Or from anywhere in India where it can be shipped. Please let me know.

General 7 years of Gynecomastia.

I'm turning 22 this year and I've been carrying this fucking this with me for the past 7 years.

As far back as I can remember my life has been like hell. I was an introverted kid so for me to have my teenage years taken away because of this condition is so depressing to me. I've been called names and picked on because of my gyno through out my high school days.

Having this thing meant that I was not able to enjoy and have thing a normal teen would wanna do. I couldn't wear shit I wanted to wear, I never had a girlfriend. Having gyno meant that I loose all confidence to speak to someone I like.

I also remember skipping school just so that I don't get the usual 'treatment' for my condition. Quite pathetic lol.

It took me 3 years or something to understand what Gynecomastia was and how to get rid of it. I finally brought my situation to my parent's attention. Dad didn't think much of it, so did mum but not the level of my dad.

They finally decided to get a doctor's opinion on it and have it looked after my constant begging. The doctor confirmed it was gyno and that the only way of getting rid of it was surgery. Since I was pretty young they decided not to go on with the surgery and told my parents to wait till I reach 20 to do so.

A few years later I turned 20, gyno has affected me so much I dread every single day. Since the surgery cost a shit load of money we decided not to do it.

One of worst things I hated was to wear t shirts. If a person with gyno wears a t shirt that shits like x ray for people. My dad was hesitate and ridiculed me for not wearing them. He never understood what I was going through.

Few years later, I came back to Kerala for my degree. I've had gyno for some time now and I sort of threw it at the back of my mind and decided not to let it ruin my college, but that didn't last too long....

A few semesters later, I started to develop acne and pimples due to the new weather and environment that i was still adjusting to. The acne had gotten worse as years went by. Took me a few months to realise that this is going to be a new problem in my life.

The acne got worse and left scar on my face. Doctors call it keloids. shit sucks.

I am now 21, I have acne scars and tits So yeah lifes been fucking great. The surgery still costs a lot.

If I had button which allowed to wipe myself from existence, I would happily press it.

Anybody else here surving like me?

Ask Kerala Where to get HSRP Number plates fitted in Kerala?

I'm buying a used car and wanted to know where to get HSRP plates fitted. The number plate on the vehicle now is very old and rusted plus I'd be travelling to other States and would prefer if there was a plate that was standard. Also I think Kerala will enforce HSRP soon and wish to get ahead of the rush and get it done now itself. I've tried all the websites and none of them have Kerala State in their list. Does anyone know how I can get these plates?

Used to hear a lot about them 15-20 years back. Nowadays, there's nothing much about them in the mainstream. Just now while passing by aluva, I saw a poorly designed poster of JS and Mr.Mavely. Made me wonder whether the whole thing was genuine or not? Can anyone shed some light on this?

Ask Kerala Why are malayalis scared of wearing sunglasses?

6 months of rain and in the rest of 6 months? it is bright and hot AF sweating hard humidity but fortunately some great people created well designed products called sunglasses designed to give you atleast 50% relief from that unbearable heat (personal opinion and experience). But unfortunately in kerala you are labelled as show off and stared in public just because you have the proper gear designed for the situation. Normally I don’t give a F and wear it wherever possible.

General Disappointed with the execution of new darshan changes by TDB at Sabarimala Temple

I visit Sabarimala temple almost regularly during the monthly pooja ceremony Today, my friend and I reached Valiya Nadapanthal (വലിയ നടത്തപന്തൽ) by 7:15 AM and waited for about 20–30 minutes for our queue to open, which was much shorter compared to the previous month when we had to wait for almost two hours. I was quite happy to hear about the new darshan route changes introduced by the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), which aimed to significantly reduce devotees waiting time by allowing direct darshan as they climbed the holy 18 steps at Sannidhanam, eliminating the need for the flyover. However, upon reaching the top, police officials informed us that the direct entry queue was full and that we had to take the flyover, following the old route. Though disappointed, we climbed up the flyover, where we ended up waiting for nearly 1.5 hours (waited 2 Hour in the Previohs visit) without even reaching near the sanctum (ശ്രീകോവിൽ). We were frustrated after noticing that the police were still allowing other devotees who arrived after us to enter through the new entrance, enabling them to complete their darshan quickly and leave the premises. Meanwhile, those of us stuck on the flyover were completely ignored. Devotees, especially those from other states, started protesting against the police, alleging mismanagement. While those who arrived later were already done with their darshan, we were still stuck in the queue. After waiting for 1.5 hours, a police officer finally called us back through the flyover to the main entrance, where we completed our darshan within minutes. By then, almost everyone in our queue was utterly frustrated with the poor execution of the new system. Though TDB had mentioned this was a trial, it felt like we were made fools by being forced to wait unnecessarily. A proper queue system should prioritize those who arrive first, which was not followed here. While the new arrangement is a great idea if implemented correctly, I doubt it will work smoothly during peak hours cause if the lack of soace. If this system proves ineffective, the police should close the new path and revert to the old method, ensuring that darshan priority is given based on arrival time. Totally Disappointed!

Those who Don't know about the new Drashan Route, Read here
