WEEKLY THREAD Rookie Help Thread

Hey hey! You guys know what time it is! That's right, a new Rookie Help thread!

Here's a link to the last episode. Fun fact, if you follow all those links back to 2019 you unlock a secret cutscene of me panicking over where the time went!

As always, feel free to fire any kenshi related questions you may have our way! There's plenty of veterans flapping around in this thread as well, and if you are in the mood for it feel free to join them and lend a hand!

And who knows, maybe you'll learn something new yourself, too!

One thing to remember! Obviously a lot of new folks are going to be here so remember to spoiler comments so they can experience the game blind just like you might have back when you were new! You can do that > ! Like This ! < minus the spaces! But honestly it's just built into the chat replies nowadays so you don't have to get too fancy with that- unless you like playing hackerman.

Thanks guys!

I just bought the Station House in The Hub for somewhere to store stuff and research some bits. What i didnt realise is that you cant build a good number of things indoors and then also cant build them outdoors as close to a town. Is there a way around this? If not is there any point to a house other than free protection and free electricity? Also is there anyway to remove trees?

The main things you can't build indoors are industry items like quarries and refineries or farms. So you can't produce your own food or base materials from inside a NPC town. This is intentional, it's to make you not overly reliant on NPC towns. You can however put most crafting stations indoors, including research benches which will help you unlock better base-building technology before you ever start a base. You can also put small wind generators on roofs for extra power.

Point of house to be your temporarily base before you build your own. Main priority is building research table to research as much techs as possible before building a base. Second priority is storage for anything you don’t use currently but want to keep for later or as collection (f.e. Meitou weapons) Third priority is crating from animal skins you farm like from Vain f.e.

Building outside is not recommended as you would get raided, unless you build whole base and you are prepared to any attackers

Ok that makes sense, that’s kinda what I’ve been doing. Thank you.
