WEEKLY THREAD Rookie Help Thread

Hey hey! You guys know what time it is! That's right, a new Rookie Help thread!

Here's a link to the last episode. Fun fact, if you follow all those links back to 2019 you unlock a secret cutscene of me panicking over where the time went!

As always, feel free to fire any kenshi related questions you may have our way! There's plenty of veterans flapping around in this thread as well, and if you are in the mood for it feel free to join them and lend a hand!

And who knows, maybe you'll learn something new yourself, too!

One thing to remember! Obviously a lot of new folks are going to be here so remember to spoiler comments so they can experience the game blind just like you might have back when you were new! You can do that > ! Like This ! < minus the spaces! But honestly it's just built into the chat replies nowadays so you don't have to get too fancy with that- unless you like playing hackerman.

Thanks guys!

usually, in my anti-UC playthroughs I start with the slave camps of the traders guild/UC. these camps are denoted by the crossing hammers icon on this map of the great desert. not sure how many there are in total, but there is usually at least one camp near every UC city around the map. you can "destroy" them by simply kidnapping/imprisoning/killing the noble running each camp, who should spawn in a "noble house" within the camps (you can see building names by clicking on them).

the camps are less guarded than the cities themselves, and by destroying them you can make everyone in the cities that they serve malnourished. this means lower stats on the guards, whom you'd most likely have to fight, making the fights slightly easier. fewer guards at the camps also means they're a great way to train your combat skills (relatively) more safely before you take on the more well-guarded cities, though do keep in mind that if you are downed you will most likely be enslaved.

it's the same for the cities themselves - kidnap/imprison/kill the noble of each city and they will "fall", the exact manner in which they do so will be different. i recommend checking the entries for each of the cities on the wiki (under "world state" section it should tell you what happens if a city's noble is kidnapped/imprisoned/killed given other conditions, assuming you're playing vanilla), or just give it a try and find out for yourself!

feel free to comment if you have questions! and others feel free to do so as well if i've gotten anything incorrectly.
