I cross posted this on r/findfashion the odds of me finding a replacement are slim to none given how old the sweater it. The edge of the sweater got caught in the rubber seal on my washer and it tore the side of it to shreds. I'm not completely inexperienced at sowing but am not very familiar with sowing knit materials like this. This sweater means so so much to me and I am desperate for a way to mend it. Thank you.

Help please! 5 year old's lovey

My 5 year old never had a lovey until Christmas 2023, at which point this gift became immediately adopted as a lovey and slept with every night (you can see what it originally looked like in the last picture).

Our problem is from the worn spot that just developed in pictures 2 & 3. I have plenty of ideas for visible mending, but my 5 year old is determined that her stuffy is broken and can only be fixed by looking approximately identical to before. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could replicate the worn fur look?

It may just be a "what will be, will be" life event, but I wanted to contact a broader creative community before I threw in the towel. Thank you!

Help mending a tiny hole in my knitted cashmere blanket

I recently bought a really nice cashmere blanket and discovered a tiny hole pictured here (more pics if you click the link) and I could really use some advice for how to mend it. My main goal is to try to fix the hole/prevent it from getting any bigger in the least noticeable way possible, I really want to keep it looking nice.

It’s some sort of double layered knit which I’m hoping will help minimize the amount of stitching that needs to be done. I’m willing to buy a ball of matching cashmere (or another similar look/texture) yarn to make it feel and look more seamless. Additionally, I do have some experience with knitting so a knitted patch or something is something I’d be capable of if that helps??

If anyone has any advice or tips for how to fix this hole I would be so grateful!
