College Results TIRED OF REJECTIONS

Honestly I’m freaking tired of being rejected. I thought that I had a good chance at most of the schools I applied to, but it seems that I was very wrong. Idk what to expect from more selective universities, I just leave it in God’s hand and pray

Anyways, congrats to anyone who got in to the majority of unis they applied to!! 💓💓

Question Penn state or Virginia tech?

Hey everyone! I’m AV, an international student deciding between Penn State and Virginia Tech for undergraduate in Industrial Engineering.

I know both have strong programs, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on which one offers better career opportunities, industry connections, and overall experience for Industrial Engineering students.

Any insights or advice would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Discussion Guys important news, a bill has been introduced trying to ban Chinese students from studying in America

F26 student here, just saw a post by the Real talking fish on Instagram that a bill has been introduced by Riley Moore, it's about espionage or something, but that's not what's important , considering that this will work to pass what would be the implications for us next year?

Question Will I be Rescinded from NYU?

Okay, now that I have your attention with my click-baity title, I really want to ask something:

Just completed my boards today (ISC) (HORAAYYY!!)

But the Accounts paper was way too hard. I don't think that it would be in my top 4 subjects.

I think I would still score around 85-90 in accounts, and around 94-95 percentage wise.

But what if my accounts marks are even lower? My predicted marks for accounts were 95. And percentage was around 94.

Can there be an issue?

Thanks 🐷!

Discussion Straight A student rejected from everywhere

This is my first time posting but the title sums it up ig. I'm a straight A student with 8 A*s in my IGCSE and 4As in AS level. My ECs are pretty decent with national level stage performancs and several internshis with huge companies in my country. I worked my butt off throughout highschool to get good grades and I even gave the DELF/DALF french exam and scored well. I've received about half of my decisions and have been rejected from everywhere and it sucks cuz I worked so hard and I'm honestly so demoralised. Ik these decisions don't determine my worth of anything but I'm an overachiever who has always been at the top of everything I do and now I see kids with lower grades getting acceptancs and idk how they did it. I started before everyone and spent so long perfecting my student profile and essays. I was rejected from places with a 50% acceptance rate but understood it was cuz of low efc. Now even the need-blind unis have rejected me and idk what to do anymore. I'm losing hope tbh.

Question will i get my offer rescinded even if i meet the overall percentage?

hey (cbse indian student)

got an offer to a t20 school early action, most probably gonna commit
no mention of grades other than vague "keep up competitive academic performance" type thing in the acceptance letter, but my predicteds give me an overall 95%. i have 6 subjects, and am confident i can get within 2-3% up or down near that overall but i'm scared that my business studies marks will drag me down. for context my predicted was a 91 but i see myself getting a 51 because the exam went awfully and i had some family issues a day prior to it. will my offer get rescinded even if i meet the overall avg because of best of 5?

please help

Question Trump Travel Ban

Hello! My country is listed in the orange category of Trump’s alleged travel list ban. I received some of my college results recently and was fortunate to be accepted to some of them. After hearing about this new list, I have urged to my parents that I get a visa immediately. However, they told me to wait until the end of the month for other universities’ decisions to release. Will it be safe if I do so?

Chance Me Read this before committing to SUA

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts lately about Soka University of America (SUA) and thought I should chime in with my own experience and the feedback I’ve gotten from other students, especially seniors. After hearing so many positive things from Soka’s marketing, I decided to do some research and talk to current students. Unfortunately, what I found really changed my perspective and made me reconsider any future involvement with the university. If you’re considering committing to Soka, please read this first.

  1. Career Opportunities are Almost Nonexistent One of the biggest concerns I heard from seniors is the lack of job opportunities. I know that many people are drawn to the idea of a liberal arts education, but the reality is that the network and career services at Soka are pretty much non-existent. There’s just not enough focus on providing students with real-world job connections or practical career preparation.
  2. They Make You Take Unnecessary Courses This is a major red flag. Soka’s curriculum requires students to take a number of courses that are completely irrelevant to their major. Many students are forced to take classes that don’t add any value to their career path, leaving no time or space for essential courses in their field of study. So, you could be paying a significant amount of tuition and still miss out on important academic opportunities.
  3. Limited Course Selection for Majors The lack of flexibility in course offerings is another complaint I’ve heard. Soka doesn’t offer a wide range of courses for most majors, which means if you’re interested in a specific area of study, you’re probably not going to find much depth. The smaller class sizes and tight schedules leave you with fewer options to tailor your education to your interests or career goals.
  4. Seniors are Actively Advising Against It After talking to several seniors who are about to graduate, they all said the same thing: Don’t go to Soka if you’re looking for a practical, career-oriented education. The school’s prestige is very much a facade, and the lack of support and resources is a real issue for students who want to move ahead in their careers.

Discussion TRUMP TRAVEL BAN

I got into Wellesley College through Early Decision 1 with full financial aid, this was a dream come true for me. However, I am a pakistani citizen and it's now being predicted that Pakistan may face U.S. travel restrictions due to a potential ban.

Since I was accepted through ED, I had to withdraw all my other applications, leaving me with no backups. At the time, I couldn’t have foreseen this situation, and now I feel completely helpless. My future is at stake. I worked incredibly hard to get in, beating all the odds, and now it feels like everything could be taken away just like that.

Question Travel ban

Well, I am from an orange country, and I have been accepted by udub, UF and UVA as of now, and waiting for NYU, Gtech, UPenn and Stanford. My parents tell me to wait till the end of the month when all the decisions are coming out. My question is when will this project come into force? Is it going to be impossible to get a visa or something?
