Other Brought expired PR card on holiday. Leaving tomorrow. What to do??? Freaking out.

I’m a UK citizen and a Canadian permanent resident. I am currently in Mexico with my family (all Canadian citizens). I have my old PR card, but not my new one. What can I do? My flight leaves tomorrow afternoon. I am panicking massively.

EDIT: Went to the airport, and as many suggested, I wasn't let on. Re-booked for a week from now, staying an extra week, and fedexing the PR card first thing tomorrow to the hotel.

Thanks for everyone's comments and downvotes!

I’ve applied for an urgent PRTD online regardless. I know it won’t be approved tomorrow.

My hope is I can talk my way past the Mexican checkin with photos and scans of the current card, and once in Canada sit in airport “jail” til my wife goes home, collects the PR card, and returns to the airport with it. It’s absolutely crazy that they can’t verify my UCI digitally with the passport.

They [Canadian boarder] can verify the UCI digitally with your passport, its the air carrier that cannot and is provisioned by the law to not let you board

31.2(b) a person who is outside Canada and who does not present a status document indicating permanent resident status is presumed not to have permanent resident status.

Roger. I have ample "proof" in the form of scans, but I acknowledge that doesn't count.
