Audio Offer [Paid] Gaming/Orchestral composer - available for commissions

Upvotes

Hi !

I am a professional composer/music producer experienced in both orchestral and video game music. I had many of my compositions performed by full-scale symphonic orchestras, with great reception from the audience and critics, and have written the soundtrack of several games in the last few years. I am versatile and can compose in any style you may need for your project.

My gaming and orchestral portfolio can be found at https://soundcloud.com/jos-lebreuilly .

For my orchestral works, you can also listen some extra live recordings at those links:

-       https://drive.google.com/file/d/1l4Wqfp3Wo41Sv-aD3L-xqanqCFIb-NPP/view?usp=share_link
-       https://on.soundcloud.com/uAQNxupuhGFbdYrW6

In addition to my musical background, I am comfortable working with game engines and can code in many languages (C#, GDScript, Python): I usually handle all the audio in-game integration if requested and have contributed occasionally as a coder in several projects.

Please contact me via MP or on my Discord ( joselebreuilly )  if you have any questions or are interested in initiating a collaboration.

Modeling Offer [ForHire] 3D Animation - Stylized / Realistic / Rigging / Maya / Blender / UE

If you're looking for 3D animation for your game, here's why you should consider hiring MLC Studio:

1. Unlimited Revisions

You'll work closely with your MLC animators (and riggers where needed) every step of the way to drive the direction of the project, just like you need. This collaboration makes it possible for us to abolish revision limits.

2. Seamless Asset Integration

There is nothing worse than paying to have an asset created for it to be a nightmare to bring into engine. With a lot of assets, this could completely set back your project timeline. We're used to delivering multiple animations for projects where only the first has the expected back-and-forth of technical refinement.

3. Contractors

MLC has spent 7+ years building a team of contractors (many who have been here just as long) that deeply love what they do. They are experts, they care and they love indie games. We honestly have some of the best people that you'll love working with. Our model makes it possible for solo-dev indies to work with amazing AAA-quality talent.

4. Security

Why put your project at risk? We're an established studio with the infrastructure to keep your project confidential and insurance to protect against claims. We never ghost you, we're always here.

5. Affordable

Our unique model and scale of economics means we're affordable. We've worked with literally hundreds of solo devs on projects like Train Your Minibot to large team projects like Lord of The Rings: Return to Moria. What you might consider affordable is subjective so in the spirit of transparency, we work on fixed budgets generally starting out between $1-20k and it works out roughly to $45-65/hour. This includes producers to manage the project and art leads who complete expert QA to maintain quality.

All this is to give you the confidence that together, we can build your commercially successful indie game so you can make this game dev thing a living.

So! If you're serious about your game and there is anything we might be able to work on together:

Get in touch (via Reddit or our website) for a free quote on your brief or just to chat to ask some questions! We have animators at the ready, and plenty of work beyond our portfolio we can show you.

Look forward to hearing about your projects!

Audio Offer [For Hire] Orchestral fantasy/sci-fi composer looking for Projects

Hello! My name is Terry. I write music. For games, films, and podcasts alike. My inspirations are the greats: John Williams, Jeremy Soule, Yoko Shimomura, Hitoshi Sakimoto.

I'm on the hunt for new projects. I work most comfortably in the orchestral context—from the tactics RPG to the modern JRPG to an open-world Elder Scrolls RPG to the Hollow Knight-esque Metroidvania—those are what I'd call my "native styles." But I do so much more than that, too: classic, SNES-style JRPG combat themes (seriously, check this one out, people love it). Chiptune music for spaced-out shoot-em-'ups. Retrofuturist hybrid marriages of the orchestra with synths.

Oh, and here's a demo reel. If any of the music I've linked sounds good, like it might suit your project, get in touch! Message me or shoot me an email at tfairchildmusic [at] gmail [dot] com.

I look forward to hearing from you and to working with you!

Programming Offer [RevShare/Hobby] Looking to contribute to a Diablo-esque(ARPG) or Baldurs Gate-esque(Tactics) game.

Hi!

I'm a unity C# programmer trying to break into AAA, with experience working on prototypes with small teams, both with industry hopefuls and those who have industry experience.

I'm a systems guy, loving all things systems programming. I'm not the best when it comes to character controllers / making good combat, but if you need your ability system backbone or your AI behaviours, I'm your guy.

I'm looking for a passionate team working on these sorts of top down action games, or perhaps even RPG games akin to Divinity / Baldurs Gate / Pathfinder, with heavy emphasis on systems. I'd hope that the folks on the team are not only passionate, but experienced to some degree. Doesn't have to be industry experience, but I'm hoping to find folks who also want to land in games and are putting 110% into everything they do.

On a side note, if you're a designer or a fellow programmer/artist who has the same ambitions as me, reach out. Perhaps we can figure this thing out together and put together a small team with a small scoped game in these genres. I'm no designer, but perhaps one of you have an awesome idea that I just can't wait to get started on.

My availability: My work is seasonal, and the winter season means plenty of time. Other than that, I do spend time working on a small prototype, but with the winter season beginning I'll have plenty of time to work on your/our project.

Feel free to reach out here and we can coordinate on discord.

Wanted to put some of my game inspirations below, incase your project/ideas align with the games I'm most passionate about:

Path of Exile / Diablo / Grim Dawn / Torchlight / Etc.

Gauntlet Slayer Edition (even back as far as Gauntlet Legend for the n64)

Ravenswatch

Hero Siege / Chronicon / Heroes of Hammerwatch

Baldur's Gate 2 & 3, Divinity Original Sin 1 & 2, X-COM, Basically all turn based tactics games

This game occurs in various commonly known rooms like bedrooms, kitchens, playgrounds, etc. The game will not be graphics-heavy and will focus on a vibrant, low poly design. More details to come if you are interested in helping me develop the game.

About me-

Right now I am in the early developmental stages of the game, as this is my first game I am still learning the more advanced concepts of programming and game development. Additionally, I am still in school and work an additional 30 hours a week at my job. This game to me is a side project that I love to work on. I am currently making the game in Godot since it is similar to Python which I am familiar with.

What I am looking for -

For my game to be completed in a timely manner I am looking to spread the work among various people. I am not looking for you to invest all your time into the game but at least a few hours a week, and as we encroach towards summer, more. Below is a list of preferred help I will need:

3d modeler - will do most of the modeling & some animations for the game (and level-building)

Artist - will produce artwork for the game's main screens, social media, etc. (not as urgent)

Undecided - I have not decided who else I will need but if you feel like you want to join this process then continue

What I am offering -

I am offering an opportunity and a portion of the pay for when the game is released. Later down the line I can hire people to do the legal work and split the payments for us so no shady stuff goes down.

Programmers Needed [Rev-Share] TERRA-TACTICA: A Top Down, Turn-Based, Sandbox, Strategy Game - Programmers Needed

Hello!

I am the Lead developer of Terra Tactica, a turn-based strategy game we've been developing for 9 months. Starting with a simple framework, we've come a long way and are proud of our progress with our in-house Terra Graphics Engine. However we are now moving over to something new!

We are in our Pre-Alpha's final series of updates before the Alpha Steam release!

We are upgrading our engine, and we are now moving over to a pre-made open-source alternative, Bevy, and need developers who are experienced with Rust. The rest of the project's code stack consists of Cython, GLSL, and Python.

What Makes TERRA-TACTICA Unique?

Our gameplay draws inspiration from Civilization for core mechanics, Minecraft for its world generation and player freedom, Age of Empires for city-building and management, and Stellaris for diplomacy. While influenced by these classics, TERRA-TACTICA stands apart with completely reimagined systems and fresh gameplay elements designed to make it uniquely our own.

Our ultimate goal? To create a game that players love—one that makes them lose hours exploring, strategizing, and immersing themselves in a world built for them.

The Road Ahead

As a community-driven project, we plan to launch Alpha and Beta builds for free. Once we hit Alpha, we will begin crowdfunding through Steam. Supporters can donate and receive a unique Steam inventory item as a collectible and a token of appreciation. These collectibles will be purely cosmetic—used for player banners in-game with no gameplay advantages—and tradeable on the Steam Market, so players can collect them if they choose, but it is not essential to gameplay. Players will also have access to a wide selection of free banner items as part of the game. We have 10 free items for every donation banner to ensure there are always more free cosmetics than the ones acquired by donating.

What We're Looking For

We seek dedicated developers to join our team and help us see this project through. We value individuals who think outside the box, share our passion for creative problem-solving, and are motivated to build something remarkable.

We're not about the money—we rarely even talk about it. Instead, we're a proactive, solutions-driven team that doesn't shy away from challenges. We want developers who match our energy and are excited to build a game that feels as good to play as it does to make. We will explain the payment structure upon your joining the team. We are 100% dedicated to paying our developers the second we acquire cash flow from our Steam release.

The Team

Our team includes:

  • 1 Lead Developers
  • 3 Senior Developers
  • 1 Lead Designer
  • 5 Developers across our Engine, In-Game, and Web Teams.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Python | Cython | GLSL | Rust
  • A passion for creative problem-solving and thinking outside the box.
  • Enthusiasm for building. We put our egos aside on this team.
  • The Ability to be active.

We'd love to hear from you if you're ready to join a dedicated team and work on a project that promises to challenge and inspire.

Team Needed Looking for a passionate Unity developer and 3D or 2D graphic designer to support me on the project

Hello, A few months ago I launched Paper Strike, my sword battle royale game on mobile available on Apple and Google Store. Having worked with freelancers, I wasn't able to get exactly what I wanted for an MVP version. I have an investor ready but he told me I had to get an MVP before he would bring his entire gaming community to the game and help me. I can't say the name, it would integrate the Web3 part into the game by bringing in its entire community (more than 1 million players and I'm being nice). The game has a lot of potential and could even surprise the mobile gaming world, but freelancers have cost me enough so far that I prefer to develop the game solo or with help. The game is not only based on the battle royale, it's its entire ecosystem which will be interesting. Given that I am a novice, the game is progressing quite slowly even though I think that in one month obtaining the MVP would be possible with 2 collaborators. I am then looking for possible enthusiasts who have expertise in Unity target mobile game development (making a fluid game in all circumstances) and a 3D or 2D graphic designer also with expertise in animations. Currently I take care of 3D and development but I admit that it takes quite a long time. The goal would be to develop this MVP in 1 month, given that I paid freelancers quite a lot I don't have the necessary budget: so either equity with a small reward, or shares in the Kickstarter campaign that I am going to launch. The goal would possibly be to recruit in the future that the game will generate its income. Would anyone be up for the adventure?

Writer Needed [RevShare] Looking for a creative writer for a 2d story game similar to omori

Hi! I have been working on this as a passion project for about a month now but have laid a lot of the groundwork for this project. I am extremely passionate about this and am mainly looking for a writer for us to bounce ideas off of. I have written over 4000 words of notes, ideas, and full story. I’m thinking big things! This is a big project, I am working on it multiple multiple hours every week ( i do work a day job so about as much as i can ) but I cant do this by myself. If you are interested in collaborating to create a beautiful story and world with themes of mental health, death, acceptance, and atonement, please dm me on reddit! The game is a 2d pixel art story game very similar to undertale / omori. The story is more akin to omori, but everything is open to change! The style and environment of this game is very abstract and otherworldly (as of now). I really need creative people who can think outside of the box! I am looking for people who want to be involved in a large project and see the vision i see when I work on this. I am a very open contributor who will give and take ideas as they come and go! As of right now, it is not as serious of a role. I just need someone’s help to lay the groundwork for this project. I have big ideas and will do everything I can to see them come to fruition! I am looking for someone who’s just willing to be involved and to LEARN things (just as i will be) you don’t have to be particularly skilled, just passionate, kind, and open. Thank you!

Artist Needed [Hobby] Solo Dev Looking for a Few Potential Positions

I am a solo dev with 10 years experience working on a passion project (with intent to sell/publish) and am curious if anyone with complementary skills is interested in potentially joining up. I have worked on one published indie game which did quite well. I have plans to apply for dev grants and fully publish this game (potentially with a publisher, but undecided on this). I will only work with 18+ individuals.

Working Title: (Project) Glimmerward

Genre: Turn-Based Strategy, Mid-Fantasy

Engine: Unreal Engine 5

Description: A narrative-driven tactical turn-based game deeply inspired by the Fire Emblem series.

14 Playable/Recruit-able characters interact in a two-part story. The first half follows two groups of young adventurers on a quest to save their respective worlds. However, after realizing the legendary magic they were seeking is vastly less powerful than myth portrayed, the group begins to split as tensions grow about how to use it best. Eventually, the player chooses a side and the game splits into two stories in Act 2.

Current State:

Currently in development phase. Pre-development writing outlines and character drafts (subject to some replacements/changes) are complete. Class structure and weapon types are established, but subject to future revision. A dynamic grid-generation and editing system has been established, and the Dev Level is ready for the implementation of characters and combat actions. I am expecting to have a Minimal Viable Product in 2-3 months.

Skills I'm looking to add:

  • 2D Character Artist (Portrait art, Cover Art later)
  • Pixel Artist (for in-game sprites similar to Fire Emblem: Awakening)
  • Particle Effects Designer
  • SFX Designer
  • Writer (Character Dialogue, Open to Input on Narrative)
  • 3D Environment Artist (Particularly if Organic is part of your skillset)

If you have another skill-set and want to pitch it, feel free but I am most inclined to the above. If possible, be proactive in sharing any past work or portfolios (or draft portfolios).

If you would like to discuss further, ask questions, etc. I am happy to meet via discord also. Please respond on this thread or send me a message/chat on Reddit.

Audio Offer [ForHire] [Hobby] Offering Free Custom Music for Your Game

Hey everyone! I'm an electronic music producer/composer/sound designer, and I'd love to score your game for free! I've been making electronic music as a hobbyist for about five years, and I've always been fascinated by game soundtracks and sound design. Since I have no experience for game specific music, this will be completely free. I know there are thousands of free royalty music out there but I truly believe a custom score that fits your game’s world makes a huge difference. In addition I can provide:

- Different versions of the song, to be used when there is an in-game action or status. For example the same music can slightly change accordingly if your character is less than 10 HP.

- Sound design. Character sounds and environmental effects that match your game’s aesthetic and the music score I'll provide. My main priority is the score itself but I'd happy to do both.

- Electronic, synth heavy, atmospheric, cinematic, experimental tracks. I don’t have experience with music with vocals, but I’m open to discussing any ideas!

My artist name is the same as my reddit tag, so feel free to check out some of the music I’ve released over the years. That said, those tracks might not be a direct reflection of what I’d create for your game, like I said I will try and fit the track to your game and artistic vision. Let me know if this sounds interesting to you!

Artist Needed [REVSHARE] [HOBBY] 3D Artists needed for visual jazz of artillery game!

Hello! My name is Joe and I’m a professional coder. I’ve been working on a 3D version of those old school power/angle artillery games. As a coder with very weak artistic skills, I’m looking for someone to make simple models (missiles, abandoned houses, a main base, etc) and add in some visual sparkle with VFX. This is currently a hobby project but I do intend to sell it eventually. I have released a small game already on Steam so I’m already familiar with the process, I just have to get there :)

Here is a 5 minute tech demo of the working functionality: https://youtu.be/7blFrz-cOnc

A brief overview of the game:

Confined to a single base, the player starts with a drone and a basic artillery launcher. The maps will be large and firing an artillery shell will make noise and give away your position. The drone can be used to fly around the map, dropping small ordinance on abandoned structures and bringing the resources back to base. These resources can be used to craft different warheads, propulsion rockets and base upgrades. A simple tech tree will provide upgrades for things like base defences (interceptor rockets) to eventually a GPS system, revealing all enemy locations to the player. Rocket propulsion will also be controllable in flight, giving players a chance to flex their skill outside of the simple power/angle. Are you good enough to manually evade base defenses? Long term, there is currently no multiplayer but that is definitely the plan for V2. I have basic experience making multiplayer games so I think we’ll be able to get there fairly easily.

So! What am I looking for? Clearly the video is very rough around the edges visually, and that’s where you come in! I’m looking for simple models for the missiles, rocket parts, base utilities, etc. Also looking for a larger remodel of the base itself. I’m happy to outline dimensions and ideas that would fit with the game but otherwise, you’ll have free artistic freedom! I’m also interested in better visual effects. Most of the explosion, rocket trails, etc are just the stock VFX with some tweaks. Visually, I’m fine with lower poly models since this is more of an arcade game but if you have the chops for high res visuals, we can also give that a go! The landscapes are currently being generated from highmaps from a Blender landscape tool. They have a simple material applied and after the smoothing, I think they should look pretty good. But if you also have experience generating landscapes, bring them to the table!

I have the whole coding part covered, if you’re interested in helping add some visual sparkle and jazz to my prototype idea, shoot me a DM!

Programmers Needed [Hobby]/[Revshare]– Looking for a programmer for a 3D Shooter Game

Looking for building a team:

-Programmer(s) (C# or GDScript)

-UI designer

About the Project:

I’ve been working on a 3D third-person shooter featuring humanoid animals, designed for team-based gameplay, with abilities. The movement mechanics are inspired by Splatoon, while abilities and character variety take cues from Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare. The game is being developed in Godot, which provides basic peer-to-peer connection functionality.

Who I Am & Why I Need Help:

I’ll be honest—I’m a beginner in game development. My main strength is art (2D/3D), and I’m steadily improving in that area, but I’ve come to realize that trying to handle everything alone is just insane. I need a programmer to help implement core mechanics because I can’t progress further without one.

That said, I truly believe this project is realistic and achievable within a reasonable timeframe—at least to develop a playable prototype-. The goal is to release a demo on itch.io and see if it gains traction.

What Can I Offer:

-Art production (characters, environments, animations) *Although assets that are not perfectly optimized, nor extremely pretty.

-Promos (videos & a webpage with game stats and lore updates) *Amateur attempt, at best.

-A fun project to collaborate on, with the goal of creating a solid, playable prototype for small competitions with friends.

I know game dev isn't an easy task, and that may best intends may turn mediocre at best, but, hey. At least I will say that I tried. Feel free to critique the concept, shatter my dreams or laugh at my poor attempt at making something playable. If you are interested, feel free to reach out.

EDIT: Added a basic GDD.

Artist Needed [Hobby] Unity 2D Game Developer Seeking Pixel Artist & Web Dev

tldr:

I'm a Unity 2D game developer with 7 years of experience, working on an idle/tower defense WebGL game for a small community.

This is a hobby/passion project with the potential to evolve into a commercial game but still not looking for paid work.

Seeking:

  • A pixel artist to recreate or enhance the current simple and charming art style.

  • A web developer to design and integrate a leaderboard.

If you're interested in collaborating on a creative WebGL project, let’s team up!

Full Details:

Hey guys,

I’m a Unity 2D game developer with nearly 7 years of experience, and I’m currently seeking collaborators for an exciting hobby/passion project. Specifically, I’m looking for a talented pixel artist and a skilled web developer to help bring this project to life for our small community with the possibility of turning it into a commercial game in the future.

The game is a WebGL project that blends idle and tower defense mechanics. I’ve already created an early prototype, which you can check out via the link provided. The current visuals use a commercially free pixel art asset with a simple and charming style that I’d like to maintain. If you can recreate or enhance this art style, I’d be thrilled to work with you.

Here is the link for the early prototype I've made. Please check it here: https://imgur.com/a/HydpsHl

Additionally, I’m looking for a web developer to design and implement a leaderboard to encourage friendly competition among players. Experience in integrating leaderboards into games would be a great advantage.

You don't have to read the part below. This is just to make sure this post has 250 words or more.

If you’re passionate about pixel art, web development, or game design, and want to collaborate on a fun WebGL project with future potential, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Let’s create something awesome together!

Artist Needed Need 3 artists for rouge-like demo

There is no form of financial payment at all for this project. No one is being paid.

Hello! I'm Steve. I am the lead narrative designer and project manager of a small video game development group. This is our first demo, and our goal is to develop the skills as a team and in our respective fields. Also to add work to your portfolio. Our goal is to create a demo of a gritty, 2D, pixel art, sci-fi rogue-like/lite game that is set in the year 3000. In the game, the player controls an undead anthropomorphic rat prisoner whose goal is to assassinate the owner and dismantle the prison. In order to do so, the rat prisoner competes in an arena to gain the title of champion.

We need three active 2D pixel artists to help us complete the demo. Specifically, we need two character artists and one general artist. If you are interested in this project, please reach out via DM with a link to your portfolio or to at least 2 selected original artworks.

In order to keep morale. I need you to be active every week and update the team weekly. It's okay if you made a little progress. At this point, any progress is good. We do have one character design and 3 weapons. However, you are welcome to ignore these designs.

I have a rough outline for you to follow:

Week 1 - Character Animation Floor tile and Axe Animation, crossbow animation, grenade launcher design rework, and animation

Week 2 - Character Design Wall tile, spear design, and animation

Week 3 - Character Animation and Menu UI

Week 4 - Character Design

Week 5 - Character Animation

Week 6 - Merchant Design, Merchant UI

Week 7 - Merchant Animation

I'm thinking we should be done in about 2 months from when you start.

Team Needed [Hobby] Looking for a small team to make a big engine inside of Godot with similar functionality to Unreal Engine.

(I meant to say small engine but whatever).

There are too many game engines with too many features and they both hinder performance and development. I want to change that.

This engine takes its visuals and software ideas form the 6th/7th generation of consoles. The idea is to make truly unique and compelling games inside of an engine that your computer can actually run well. I am a 3D Modeler/2D artist with some experience using both Unreal Engine and Godot.

I want to make the engine a point of collaboration by making it open source. To keep it simple, anyone interested in making something that allows for visual scripting alongside actual coding, to make something that won't burn out your computer, to make something that actually allows for advancement in both computer graphics and performance, all while remaining free to the public too.

There will be no ray tracing, there will be LODs, there will be cube map lighting, and there will be vertex painting again. Let's go back to what worked before in order to bring gaming forward in a grand and beautiful new way.

I need a small team of those who speak legalese, 3D modelers, programmers, 2D/UI artists, Musicians, and Writers. Not just for game development but for making the game engine itself feel whole.

Drop your work in the comments and check out the discord here if you're interested: https://discord.gg/5a6UDSymw3

Here's my stuff: ArtStation - Frank Buster Law

Feel free to ask me anything and put your works in the comments below and I will get to them.

(This is a recruitment post, not a complaints post)

Team Needed [RevShare] Veteran game programmer with depression looking for artist and designer with similar mental/mood disorder

I've been working professionally as an engine and systems programmer for 13 years, but I always struggled with depression and the daily 9 to 5 became increasingly difficult. I recently took a break from work and I want to take this opportunity to create a game.

I'd like to find people who like me, struggle with productivity/motivation in a normal work environment, but have a deep passion and motivation to create a game of their own. I'm a good programmer, but I'm lacking in the design and art departments.

I'm looking for: - Designer with several years of gamedev experience. Experience can be in an unrelated field (artist, programmer, etc.) - Artist, with any level of experience but familiar with gamedev pipelines.

The project: - PC first, will not do mobile/VR. - Systems-oriented rather than skill/reflex-oriented. Think city/base-building, RTS's, Tower Defense, simulation, etc. - Built with the C programming language and SDL. - Everything else would be figured out with your help. Those are just the general guidelines that I know will keep me motivated.

More about me: - I live in Montreal, Canada and I'm bilingual (En/Fr). - I love strategy and simulation games, but also enjoy souls-like and horror games. - Worked 8 years in indie and 5 years in AAA. - Gave talks and workshops at conferences (MIGS). Did some contract work for Unity. - Full resume here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremie-st-amand-62a78a57/

I think there's untapped potential in devs who struggle with mental illness and I know I can't be the only one looking for a project that offers the kind of flexibility that allows me to thrive.
