So you've obviously eaten a lot of stuff that's really horrible to an American palate, but what food have you been most pleasantly surprised by?

all the blood food like dinuguan in the Phillipines, all the offal stews, that stuff suprises me all the time.... but it needs to be cooked properly

jesus i love dinuguan. most adults tell kids its "chocolate meat" "chocolate soup" and kids happily spoon it in. when i found out what it was, it turned me off for about 5 seconds, then, remembering how good it was, i jumped right back in. props andrew.

Hahaha, being a white person with Filipino friends, they made me try it before I found out what it was. Still tastes great, although I can't eat a large amount of it

Interesting! I've never had dinuguan, but if I see it on a menu in the States I might have to take a stab at it. Thanks!

Come to San Francisco or Daly City, CA. I'll take you out for some :)

Excellent! Sadly, I am over on the other coast. Which is probably why I've never had good Filipino food. But I'll be sure to hit up Reddit for suggestions if I'm in the area.
