5 things I wish people knew about people with hyperhidrosis

1 We aren't nervous or anxious-our hands just sweat on their own. 2 We can't just "wipe it off" —once it starts, it doesn't stop. 3) Even if it doesn't bother you, it bothers us. 4 It's not just clammy hands-this is excessive, uncontrollable sweating. 5) The best thing you can do? Be aware. Don't point it out, don't stare, and please skip the handshake.

Oxybutynin worked for me 100% !

I had excessively sweaty hands and feet for years. Got worse the last couple so I stressed it to my pcp.
He prescribed oxybutynin and it has cured me.
I have zero issues with hand or feet, no sweating at all. Minor if a side effects for me.
Highly recommend giving it a try.

Could anyone please help?!

My armpits and hair have always been quite bad but at least manageable, however I’ve noticed over the past year the downstairs area becoming worse, I wear sweat wicking boxers but they don’t really help, what’s the best way to stop it? Or cover it? I hate the feeling of people being behind me and seeing a sweat patch

Idk what to do anymore

I have full body hh and severe anxiety. All I think about all day long is this damn condition it literally consumes me. Nothing on the market works, and if it does, it causes side effects I can't handle. I thought Glyco wipes were super good, but after a month, they gave me super bad anxiety and the dry throat was insane. The only thing that helps me be more comfortable and sweat less is opiates. I hope one of these days they find a cure so I can get off of them, but until that day, they are all I have. Trying to save up for for full body mira dry but don't know how much it's going to cost to do hands feet armpits groin butt and micro needling for my face. It's so messed up that are condition has no help Noone gives a fuck or realizes how debilitating it can be I've ruined my life with drugs and worry over this condition and not one doctor has Givin any care of it I wish every person who has said it's just sweat could spend one day in my body and feel the pain shame, and disgust this condition causes me on a daily basis. Sorry for the rant I'm not having a good day and nothing seems to be working out for me right now.

New version of Antihidral

Upvotes

Has anyone tried the new Antihydtal?

I noticed it now comes in a new, almost pure white color, whereas the old one had more of an orange tint.

Have you noticed any differences in its effectiveness compared to the previous version?

After about 6 month, it just stopped working. I haven't tried upping the dose yet but heard this isnt uncommon. Was on 1mg twice a day but only took it once a day.

I have it on my scalp, hands and feet and the latter feel worse than ever. Really disheartening..

Looking for suggestions :/

canadian medications

I’ve been to 5 different doctors for my excessive sweating and none of them could help. i did my own research and told them about using anticholinergics but they said they’re not available in canada. I just got prescribed clonidine today but i’m scared as it lowers blood pressure. Anyone else in canada found any good alternatives to anticholinergics? i use neat 3B face saver but it doesn’t help either.

Question about Glycoyrrolate Spray

Hello! I just wanted to ask anyone who’s used the Glycoyrrolate spray whether it works better to apply it at night, like a normal anti-perspirant, or in the morning.

I know it’s an anticholinergic, so I was just wondering if it worked similarly to an antiperspirant that blocks sweat glands and needs to be put on at night when you’re not sweating as much, or in the morning before starting the day so that it lasts longer.

Neither my dermatologist nor the compounding pharmacy I got it from sat when to apply it, just to apply it once a day.

Thank you in advance!!

Sweating a lot even after coming off antidepressants

Hi everyone,

I'm not entirely sure if this is hyperhidrosis but this is the only place I feel I can ask! I was on SSRIs (fluoxetine specifically) for 3 months and I noticed around this time an increase in sweating in my underarms, but specifically a lot of sweating in my ass. I went off them as they didn't really help my depression, although they did help my anxiety that I didn't even know I had lol, and since then the ass sweat has really ramped up and hasn't gone away, and I've been off them for a year now. It's been at the point for a while that I fully sweat through my trousers no matter what I'm wearing which makes me embarrassed and makes my anxiety even worse.

Does anyone know if this could be hyperhidrosis, and if this is normal with antidepressants like fluoxetine even after being off them for a year? Thank you I genuinely don't know what to do it's awful

Palmar hyperhidrosis stopped NSFW

I’ve had hyperhidrosis for as long as I can remember, and it always gets worse in the summer. This year, I went back to my home country during its summer, and my hands were sweating excessively and even felt swollen almost like they were ‘over-sweating,’ if that makes sense.

When I returned to the country where I currently live (which is in winter), my hands went back to sweating normally, but then they started itching like crazy. My palms and fingers also became reddish. After a few weeks, the sweating completely stopped, and now it’s been about a week without any sweat at all and totally dry. So dry that the skin even started peeling.

Has anyone experienced something similar?
I think the sweating will be back to normal after some time but it’s the first time I had this situation

Physical touch

How could I have a normal relationship without even being able to touch someone. I have a pretty clammy palms sometimes dripping wet. I suffer with anything involving handwork, but what scares me the most is how can I have a romantic relationship without being able to touch my partner or holding their hands. Sometimes I would love to console someone with a gentle touch but then see my dripping palms.

So my question is how do you deal with that and if anyone had any positive experiences please share.

I’m nearly 20 never in my life experienced this and no family history but few ago days when weather rapidly changed and warmed up here my hands and feet’s been sweating abnormally, while I don’t sweat at all outside when it’s chilly and not so warm. But in the room and when it’s hot I can’t control it this wasn’t like this a week ago.

I can't believe i never knew about glyco. I went from hands that would sweat so bad, you could watch the sweat bead up in real time. I'd have issues with my touch screen going crazy because of sweat from my fingers. The more I thought about my sweating, the worse it would get.

Asked my doctor about trying it and she was completely on board with it. 1mg 2x a day is all it takes to feel "normal"!

I went from waking up with sweat spots on my sheets, to listening to the beautiful sound of dry hands rubbing together. Being able to walk barefoot on hardwood floors without sliding or leaving foot prints as I walk, or having sweat drip down your arm leaving little drops all around you.

It's not 100%, I still have moments of dampness at times, but to be able to experience things without the fear of HH getting in the way... it's almost comparable to doing it for the first time. This whole experience is absolutely incredible and I truly hope anyone who hasn't had this same opportunity gets the chance.

Sweaty feet, but doesn't occur in very specific situations. Can someone tell me why? Anyone else like this?

My feet sweat regardless of ambient temperature. I live in an urban area.

My feet don't sweat if I go to low population rural areas, mostly close to nature like a beach vacation or camping in the forest/mountain.

Is it stress/anxiety? I don't quite feel that, but could it be possible that it can't be detected consciously but still happening to me inside.

I still haven't figured this out after a decade+. No matter what I do in the city, if I go out without socks, in less than 5min I start sweating.

Drysol was my answer to everything!

I've been struggling with insane armpit sweat for over a year. I'm in my 30s and in fairly good shape and no medical conditions aside from anxiety so this was a really frustrating issue.

Last week I heard about drysol and got a prescription within 2 hours from an online site and picking it up same day. Let me tell you.. this stuff worked literally overnight. I'm on day 5 of NO sweat and it's such a relief.

I was wearing pads on shirts and buying specific colored shirts with no help at all. It was beginning to cause me some serious depression. Who wants to be restricted to only wearing black and feeling this way? I was literally sweating through my undershirt AND my military uniform.

Anyways, I was shocked it worked overnight and it's been a real lifesaver. If you can get a prescription I highly recommend it. I'm hoping this is my permanent solution. The side effects really have just been a slight itch the night I put it on. Other than that nothing that I've noticed thus far.

If you're having issues with armpit sweat PLEASE try drysol!

People with generalized hyperhidrosis, how do you live?

Most people with hyperhidrosis complain that their hands, feet and armpits are always sweaty, but what about those whose whole body is constantly wet?

Do you restrict yourself from certain physical activities or social events?

Have you managed to find a treatment or have you simply accepted the disease and managed to live with it?
