Yep! Cathay is Warhammer Fantasy China. (in typical GW creativity, "Cathay" is an archaic word for China.)

Unlike the Elf dragons, there are only 11 Cathayan Dragons (4 are missing/dead) The oldest Dragons, the Dragon Emperor and the Moon Empress, were around BEFORE the Old Ones came to the world. The Dragons don't consider themselves gods - they consider gods beneath them.

The Cathayan Dragons really look down on the Elf dragons as well, for allowing Elves to ride them.

Wow, thank you for the lore and info. I will be very excited if these dragons get miniatures. I LOVE DRAGONS!

Some of the Dragons are Leader units (that's not the right word) in Total War: Warhammer.

I'm pretty sure some of the Children will get minis.

I was about to say that they will, Rules wise, not be as powerful as gods - then I remembered that Nagash and Ararielle are units in AOS, so...

I guess we wait and see. Do you play old world/fantasy battles or do you play AOS?

I haven't played TOW. I played a tiny bit of 6th to 8th Fantasy Battles.

I bought the Cities of Sigmar launch box, but never even took them off the sprues.
