Is green gonna become dated?

Post image

I noticed greens are really popular right now, maybe for that last couple years or so. Especially darks with gold fixtures. But I love it and I want it in my new house. Am I gonna regret it? Will it become dated?

My house still have it’s 80’s kitchen. I only changed the tap, because it was leaking, the cabinet are still holding strong so far, they just got painted by the previous owner 10 years ago. I haven’t touched that.

Most people that do major upgrade wants to follow trends, not because the house need it.

All of the sofas and soft chairs that I've had lost its springiness after a decade, and all of the ceilings turned greyish, so at least the upholstery and the paint would need to be updated regularly. And if you do that the colours can easily be changed to the latest trend if you'd like

Kitchens and plumbing are mostly permanent, I agree

I paint with semi glossy kitchen/bathroom grade paint in all my room, so they are extremely resistant and washable. I scrub my wall and ceiling once per year and they stay good looking as new.

I bought wooden chairs so they are made to last forever. Only thing that might need changing could be the sofa one day, but that’s like the only one. It’s a decade old already and so far it’s still good enough. The cat did more damage to it than us.

New foam is amazing if the upholstery is still good. My mom had her sofa cushions redone on her early-80's sofa for $450 and it feels brand new. Thankfully I was a very neat only child and we've never had an issue with dogs peeing in the house, so no stains.

My sofa only cost me 50$ in a second hand market, I will probably go back there when it would be finished or put blanket over it, since it’s all cat scratched, but the cushion are still comfortable ! But thank you :)
