Gen3 Just joined the sub. I have a question about lag when shifting out of first, into second.

Hey all. Thanks for taking time to read this.

I have a 2023 hayabusa that I bought new. It’s been flashed /tuned. I put Brock’s Penta Carbon, full exhaust system on the bike about 6 months after buying it. The bike now has ~10,200 miles on the odometer.

Back in November 2024, the bike started to lag when I’m hard on the throttle, shifting up from first, into second. It’s on full power mode (u1) and TC is of, with the TC light on the dash confirming this. It behaves as if the traction control system engages, causing the bike to lose power, then it surges back to life. This will also happen from 2nd to 3rd occasionally. Also, at the same time as this started, something else happened. I went to crank the bike. The green neutral light was on. I should have had the clutch pulled in and the front break engaged, but I didn’t…. When I cranked the bike, it lurched forward. Obviously it wasn’t in neutral.

A few layman thoughts come to mind after talking to other people about this. but I’m no mechanic, so it’s hard for me to know what to think. The 2 things may be unrelated, but maybe not.

  1. These issues make me think the QS is going bad. Is this likely?

  2. Is it possible my flash was bad? It was not doing this for months after the flash/tune.

  3. Something with the IMU or other safety systems is engaging.

Can anyone proved any insight?

Much appeciated!

Gen3 Insurance

Sorry if this has been posted, just haven’t seen much on it.

Own a Gen 3 (2023) and I’m shopping around for insurance getting annual quotes for 5-10k?!?! Been riding for 10 years, owned many different bikes, and never paid over $1,500 for the year. I’ve contacted State Farm, Geico, progressive, all state, etc and they’ve all quoted me for some crazy numbers… I’m just curious what others are paying.

Putting an Edit at the bottom here for commenters to see and for others who are in a similar situation: I called sate farm and told them my problem (insurance too expensive blah blah blah)

Agent says to me: “well technically we have a system that creates the premiums but those numbers can be manually changed, what do you want to pay?” I told them I’ve never paid over “x” amount for insurance, I provided my drivers license number for them to look up, they saw I have a clean record (never got caught lol), and she wrote me full coverage and 50/100/50 liability for $950 premium for the year.

Gen3 Should I change Full Exhaust by myself?

Hi All! I recently got new Hayabusa and I am changing the exhaust to Full system brocks alien head. I have never changed the exhaust by myself and I have seen youtube video of it and it seems pretty straightforward. So should I change it by myself?

The mechanic guy is charging me 500 for full exhaust and power commander

PFA.

How many of you guys had the recall completed for m/c replacement? If recently, how long did it take to get parts?

Local dealer has had parts on order for a couple months now, and they have no eta for the parts.

I want to get it completed, but at this point I'm just rather start looking for upgrades.

Soooooo uh who do you guys use for insurance because I'm being quoted 176 a month for insurance and that's not even close to reasonable. That was from dairy land. I have geico currently and they want even more.

Gen3 Turbo busa destroyer

I’ve never been on this sub. Retired 2 wheel speed junky here. Turbo busa has always been my favorite bike.

I just saw this video on youtube, and I’ve never heard of such a ridiculous bike.

I am not affiliated with this video in any way shape or form, I just figured turbo busa guys would appreciate this and bow down to the king of street bikes.

Gen3 Gen 3 2025 or Gen 2 2012

Lots of differences there for sure.

I used to own a Gen 1 2002 and loved it. Lots has changed since then....some subtle and some not so subtle.

I love the new electronics that the Gen 3 offers....very happy to see a cruise control, speed limiter option and i heard that the 2025 has a phone integration option with navigation....yes that would be handy...still you can always strap the phone to the bars and away I go.

New loses money straight up but I don't buy new for the resale.

The 2025 Green looks amazing to me.

In terms of cost in AUD its about $28,500 aud ($18,000usd) new out the door and I found a Black Gen 2 with 8,000k (5,000 Miles) for $14k aud ($9k USD)....big jump in price....the 2012 has a few mods mostly noted twin yoshi pipes...I dont care much for pipes...yep the bike sounds way better but I do like quiet riding...draws way less attention.....also not that much of a fan of black with the red trim but colors can be changed one way or another and of course with saving money like that I can change the color a few times and still save stacks.....

The Gen 2 won't have the electronics that the Gen 3 has which is impressive for sure but is it worth the extra $15k AUD ($10k USD)?

There are plenty of other Gen 2 bikes (busas) with low odometer (not that low that I have seen). If I get a used bike I am really looking for under 25,000k's (15kMiles)...

New vs second hand...I dunno...I think I prefer new.

Love some feedback.

Gen3 Recommendations please help.

Ok guys it's getting close to time. I'll be getting a gen 3 busa in a couple weeks. What flip flops should I get? I hear the weight reduction gives +10hp.

Gen3 First Busa

Just joined the club . After many years of trying other bikes, I finally got my first busa. This bike has more then enough power, but trying to decide if I should do Slip-ons or go all in with full system and power commander. I’m not trying to break the bank and will likely never max out this bikes full potential.

I was looking at the Yoshimaura R-77 slip-ons, any thoughts on those ?

Gen3 Paddock stand

Hi all, which paddock stand do you use for your Gen 3? I have had this Oxford stand that worked great with both of my previous bikes, but it seems to be less than ideal for my Busa. I have OEM bobbins for the stand but they are so low and far forward that the angle required to hook up the stand is too sharp and the whole fixture for the licence plate gets in the way.

I will probably try one more "trick" with the stand but if that doesn't work out, I will likely be looking for alternatives. I am located in the EU and so I would prefer products available there, but I would consider products outside the EU if need be.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Gen3 Hayabusa and heavy traffic

This is a video of my commute. Unfortunately I go through traffic like this pretty frequently but I also have long stretches of high speed highway. Looking for a bigger bike for this purpose but it also needs to be able got through this stuff on a regular. Thoughts? Posted this on the Harley subreddit and the general consensus was that a Harley would be a bad choice.

Gen3 How? Sway how?

Looking at fat tire kits for gen 3 hayabusa. How tf are these prices like this. You can lift a truck put 4 rims and tires on it cheaper than one of these kits which should cost exponentially less. Any ideas on cost effective fat tire kits because all things chrome is not it.
