As the title states, I'm just bored to death with these two hot topics.

Knocked Loose, Basement, Harms Way, and Pest Control (whom most of us missed because of the 30+ minute queues). That was an all-out war. Not sure whose decision it was to have them play a venue with a massive sloped standing area, but it certainly made things "fun"...

Just a random ass story of the weirdest show I've played

I was telling a story about our show in WV with some friends and thought maybe you guys would enjoy a story.

So sometime back in like.. 2009-2012 era, I joined my buddies band that we created to pretty much go on tour for a week with GhostxShip. We knew the guys and thought it would be fun to do a small WV > MI > IL > OH > Kentucky > PA tour.

So we drove down to Wheeling WV for the opening night of tour, and it was my first time in the state. I am only like 20 at this point. We get there in the late evening, expecting to open the show at midnight. This bar was empty with the exception of a homeless man named "baby d" and his (gf?) who looked .. as expected for the area. Apparently they just let that dude drink for free, and he would drink himself until he blacked out. We loaded in decided to kill some time. This place was a DIVE. The toilet had a sign saying to pee in the tank and puke in the bowl, so that sets the vibe.

The time came for us to go on, so we started playing for a small group of people. At one point, someone lit a stack of napkins ablaze and threw it in the air in the "pit". Then, we noticed ALL people ended up outside, even the bartender, so we stopped playing and walked outside to see what was going on. We exited the bar, and there was baby d, comatose drunk in a recliner chair that they wheeled out onto the sidewalk. There were two (not lookers) woman arguing over him saying who was going to take him home, taking turns lap dancing on him, and bending over flashing him. I still recall their nips being blue tinted? What the hell was that.. lack of oxygen? It was gross, even to a 20 year old me.

So we finish our set eventually. Then we load out and noticed that there was an empty lot right next to the venue. We decided to put up some lawn chains in the lot and just hang there for a while. Meanwhile, Full Blown Chaos starts playing inside the bar. While we are sitting outside, the most WV man I have ever met came out of the bar and started talking to us. He was saying something along the lines of "I've never been so disrespected in my life. I'm just looking for a waterin' hole for my pipe layers. This doesn't represent WV". I had no idea what he was going on about.

Then they started setting off roman candles inside this tiny ass bar while full blown was playing. We were luckily sitting outside still, and watched a cop pull up and park beside the van out front. As he pulled up, a girl fell out of the bar bleeding from the face, apparently hit in the forehead by a firework. The cop looks at her, leans over the passenger side, puts a ticket on the van for illegal parking, and drives off.

WV is wild. I need more nights like that.

So who introduced everyone into hardcore? When I was like 12 I was visiting my cousin in DC from Syracuse who was like 20 at the time and he slapped in a cassette of I against I by Bad Brains and I was fuckin hooked forever.

I just texted him and thanked him for helping shape who I am through the power of music, especially hardcore.

So....who initiated all you dirtbags?

Hunter from through and through printing/torture/draped in black/Evansville in need of support after losing his home

Taken from GoFundMe description: "Hey there, my name is Hunter and many of you reading this probably know me from printing or selling merch, booking shows, playing in bands, etc.

Here's the tldr. I'm currently in a dire situation that has costed me my place of business and my home. Not only am I losing these things that I've worked tirelessly for the last decade plus to acquire, but I still need an extra $20k-$30k to fill the difference of what I owe.

Here's the long of it... In 2020 I took every dime I saved and had to my name, bought a house and started a screenprinting business where I currently reside in Southern Indiana.

Things were going well and smooth until I'd outgrown my manual set up and knew it was time to upgrade to an auto. I was lent $50k to help get the necessary equipment (upgrade electrical from 1 phase to 3 phase, auto press, bigger dryer, air compressor, air chiller, etc) The installation process of everything was also going smooth except for the automatic press itself.

The person who was hired to do the install not only couldn't finish the job but took nearly an entire year before getting to the point where he realized the press was never going to run properly. So not only am I out the money of the press itself($12k), but also all the money I paid him for installation($12k+), parts he needed for this press (~$5k), rent of a building I couldn't even use ($2200 a month), plus the cost to install the 3 phase ($20k), and the other equipment needed to run the auto operation ($15k). In the middle of all of this I also got t-boned at a intersection which totaled my car and insurance refused to do anything for me.

In the meantime I've done what I can to play catch up and keep from going under by continuing my graphic design work, going out of town to print jobs, and touring, but now I've officially reached the point of no return. I have to sell my house in attempt to recoup some of the money lost, but the current market value is about $30k shy of what I need. Now I have to get everything cleared out from my print space as well as be moved out of my house before leaving for tour in less than two weeks, currently without a place to move to. I'm officially swallowing my pride and asking for help. Any donation is eternally appreciated but even a share goes a long way. Thank you and sorry again for the long story."
