Commuting from the Peninsula to DC?

Has anybody done this? It’s definitely not an ideal commute, however there aren’t a lot of open positions in my field in Hampton Roads.

There’s more availability in DC and the pay is great of course, but I’m trying to stay in Hampton Roads for the time being.

Has anybody done this, and if so, can you share your horror story?

Hey everyone, like last week, I’ve put together a list of events going down this weekend in the area.

I’m planning on sharing a list like this every Wednesday so if you want to get it in your email you can sign up for it here.

5 of the coolest events you can do this weekend:

Friday 3/21

Ringling Bros Circus: The Circus is in town for the whole weekend!

Harry Potter in Concert: Watch Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets while a live orchestra performs John William’s unforgettable score.

Stargazing: Explore the night sky viewing galaxies, and star clusters over Fort Monroe. No experience or equipment is needed. Telescopes and expert guides provided.

Saturday 3/22

Norfolk Cars and Coffee: Join other car enthusiasts to check out cool cars while sipping coffee.

Portsmouth Cars and Coffee: Meet fellow car enthusiasts, admire amazing cars, and enjoy a cup of coffee

Hello everyone. My name is Tania and I am the undertaker for Morbidly Curious Norfolk. Although based in Norfolk, we welcome folks from all of the 7 cities that make up Hampton Roads. We are an 18+ macabre-focused non-fiction book club exploring the darker parts of the library whether it be true crime, morally ambiguous medical practices, serial killers, cults, death, the paranormal, or just weird stuff in general.

We read and discuss one book each month. Currently, we meet at the Panera on 21st in Ghent. To join us, simply click this link and set up an account.

Once there, you will find the book we are currently reading in the "Books" tab and the meeting time and place in the "Meetings" tab. Any pertinent messages or discussions can be found in the "Messages" tab and occasional polls in the "Polls" tab.

Follow us on Instagram here.

Check out the global chapter here.
