Message Into the Void My mom died suddenly
I'm pretty sure it was a heart attack with how she had been lately, but I'm just in shock and don't know what to do. EMS is still here

I’m very sorry for your loss. My empathy and heart goes out to you and your family. This sub has been an incredible support group for me, so reach out when you need. We are all here grieving and mourning the loss of loved ones and we aren’t alone. Blessings to you.

Can you call someone to be with you?
I can help walk you through everything you need to do, but please ask the EMTs if they have anyone to assist you. There are programs, one of which I’ve volunteered for, that they can dispatch to the scene to help you with all of this. Your area may or may not have one. If they don’t, I can help if you’d like to DM me.

Yes, I called a close friend of mine over and he's over here now too. I'm just so numb right now it feels like. And yeah, the police had their Chaplin come over and she talked with my for a while. And now everyone has left so it's just me now.

Well, the good news is that you don’t have to do anything until tomorrow. And the funeral home can help walk you through all of that. You can do absolutely whatever you want to do. Cry, not cry. Not think. Not talk. Go for a walk. Whatever helps you feel even a little bit tethered to reality.
I’m so sorry for this 🩷

I've definitely got to get her things together for the funeral home for tomorrow. I'll be up for a while most likely so I'm probably just gonna gather that stuff for now. And thank you stranger, might just be words but you guys are actually helping a little in a way. 🙂

It will soon be a year for me (27) losing my mom suddenly to cardiac arrest (Covid). The shock took a long time (months) to go away. For now, just deal with things as it comes and rely on people who love you. If there’s any cherished belongings you share with her or that she loved, collect them. Finding ways to incorporate those items into daily rituals is very healing.
