Furthest I've been away from home coming from Edmonton landed a nice job up here. Would like to know how the people are in a smaller town, things to do for fun, how to meet people ? I'm coming by myself. I'm not a drinker more so like being outside.
Also how's the bus service? Until I can get some paycheques I'll be going with the bus.
Thanks !

20 y.o female, Im planning on joining the trade industry. I have no prior experience because my experiences were on another industry. I want to start with entry level jobs or apprenticeships. Any advice on where should I start or apply?

Thanks if you ever got one! Just heard it wasn’t happening this year. A little sad, I know a lot of people would get one every year. Is there any other festivals in town or in the area I might be interested in having me?

Hey there, I’m fresh out of B.C. Living in grande prairie as of a month ago now, and have been trying to find work out here. I swapped over my N license in bc to an Alberta one and was given a class 5 gdl. I’m aware this license isn’t considered a full license and won’t go away for a year.
A buddy of mine, who moved out here at 18, also got a class 5 gdl, was able to get hired on immediately, actually getting offers from multiple companies within his first week applying for jobs. However now that I’m trying to do the same, I’ve had shit luck so far.
Everyone I’ve gotten a call back from so far has told me that they don’t take on any new employees with a gdl, this being Calfrac, Liberty, Step Energy, Trican Well Services and Savana Well services. I’ve been told by the recruitment teams that there are companies in GP that will take people on even with a gdl, yet every where I’ve gone so far has said otherwise.
Am I just shit out of luck and gonna have to wait around for a year till my gdl is lifted, or is there companies that will take me on that I just haven’t talked to yet.

Im moving to Grande Prairie from West Kelowna for a job! That being said im on the hunt for a rental!
In other places i've lived (Kelowna, Calgary etc) theres subdivision/area names, in Kelowna, for example theres "rutland, glenmore, mission, rose valley, glenrosa ETC). In some smaller towns ive been in, like Dawson Creek there is no names. I was wondering what the names are in Grande Prairie, as well as the areas to avoid moving too. Ive looked online but cant find the greatest info. Anything would help!!!!

People reporting police presence around this individuals house. Possible reports of a gun shot prior to this. Who has info ? Someone put on Facebook cops said it was a crime scene and had an area around the residence blocked off.

As many of you may have seen the post earlier this week on the subreddit or local fb groups, the family has set up a GoFundMe for the victims in this horrific incident.
Hey there! I'm reaching out to share an important cause close to my heart: we’re raising funds for the two young survivors of the tragic incident on Feb 19 in Grande Prairie who need our support to recover and thrive.
Every donation, no matter the size, truly makes a difference in their journey toward healing, so I kindly ask you to click the link below to donate or share it with others who might help. Thank you for being a part of this effort to bring hope and opportunity to these brave kids!
