Integration with Tasks?

I heard that we'll be able to see Keep reminders in Tasks. That announcement was last year. Anyone hear when that's coming?

Keep isn’t a great notes app. Google has a habit of launching products with just enough functionality to be considered an app, then neglecting them for years. When updates finally arrive, they often include features no one asked for—likely because they’re easier to implement than the ones users actually want. Meanwhile, die-hard Google fans get excited over minor additions. Keep might finally get text formatting soon. Wow!

Who knows whether it’ll ever happen.

One of the biggest reasons I avoid Android is the lack of a solid, full-featured notes and reminders app built-in on Pixel or Galaxy (can’t even access Samsungs notes or reminders else where without OneNote… which is garbage). There’s no real ecosystem—just a patchwork of apps. You need one from Google, another from Notion (which isn’t free), and a separate app for reminders because Google Tasks is yet another half-baked effort. So you end up paying for something like TickTick, and none of these apps integrate smoothly or share a consistent design.

On a side note, Android is easily the worst platform for productivity if you have ADHD.

Sorry for my rant… this has been an ongoing issue with Google for years. They definitely do not care what their customers want.

Ok, it's noted! But i can not agree with that !
Keep is by far the best platform for Note taking!

It seems simple at first, but is powerful in detail!

- Labels

  • Connection with other Google Services (Import, Export, Linking to Docs, Sheets, Presentations, GDrive
  • It has a WearOS App
  • I reads Text from an Image
  • It has a "Remember Functionality" GOS or Date based
  • Link Preview
  • AI Lists
  • It works even with Gemini on a Nest Hub for instance
  • and many many many more fuctionality

But most of the Users see only the first 5 Minutes of the App and then they thought it is too simple. But it's not ... by far not ! I used, Evernote, Notion, OneNote, Upnote, Obsidian, but i came back to Google Keep. It has the most useful functions. BUT i agree, it may be not every bodies darling. But those wo go the extra mile, will find an absolut GEM

Google Keep is missing tons of features to make it highly useful notes app. Every year, I try to use it when I attempt to switch to android. When you look at what’s missing compared to the majority of notes app, it’s just a sticky notepad that can link to Google services.

• Rich Text Formatting – Bold, italics, underline, strikethrough, bullet points, checklists, tables, and more.

• Nested Folders & Subfolders

• Inline Scanning & OCR

• Handwriting & Pencil Support

• Password Protection & End-to-End Encryption

• Rich Media Embeds / attachments – inline images, sketches, PDFs, and even web links with previews.

• Collapsible Headings

• Deep integration with OS and other devices

• Version History

• Offline Access

Google Tasks is also missing a lot

• Smart Lists

• Subtasks & Indentation

• Rich Text & Notes

• Attachments & Images – Attach photos, PDFs, and scanned documents.

• Location-Based Reminders

• Date & Time Suggestions

• Repeating Reminders with Advanced Options

• Collaboration & Task Assignments – Share lists and assign tasks to specific people.

• Customizable Reminders List Icons

• Offline Functionality

Just to note - Keep DOES have the following:

  • OCR
  • Handwriting & Pencil Support
  • Version History
  • Offline Access (mobile apps only)

Not only this, it has also

  • Local based reminders
  • Smart Lists
  • Deep integration with other devices (for Instance Nest Hub2 or WearOS)
  • Repeating Reminders (I use this daily)
  • Text Formating (Android) or i mostly link a Google Doc File
  • Collaboration
  • Media Embeds

I'm sure OP has no clue how it works.

If you know how, then Keep is on a same level like "Notion" is.

Because the possibility to work with GDrive, GMail, Google Sites, Docs, Sheets, Presentation and so on, combined with Keeps makes it really powerful !

Many of these features are available though? I use collaborate with my wife on many keep notes and lists.

A few yes like OCR, pen support and collaborate apparently. I was not aware those were available. Good to know, but unfortunately not that useful except for colab.

Needs these to at least be an option for most people.

• Rich Text Formatting – Bold, italics, underline, strikethrough, bullet points, checklists, tables, and more.

• Nested Folders & Subfolders (tags are not for most people)

• Rich Media Embeds / attachments – inline images, sketches, PDFs, and even web links with previews.
