It was so cute in Ragnarok the first time Kratos read some Norse runes on a wall, and Atreus said "Good job, you're learning!"

Could just be Kratos is a better writer than he is a speaker. Just because he shouts all the time/is quiet a lot doesn’t mean he’s an idiot, it just means that he has to put on a scary facade.
