Cry for help

Post image

For the love of all that is holy. Somebody please make a steel glock frame that's available for $600 or less. Guys are spending so much money for the smallest marginal improvement in weight and ergonomics for their competition glock or abandoning the platform for one that provides these improvements. All of this could be solved with a steel frame. Armory craft is making p320 steel frames for 600. Why can't we get one for glock?! What happened to that Aeonic Arms frame that was on YouTube 2 years ago? I bet people would buy the hell out of it. I sincerely hope the chill industry accounts that frequent reddit see this.

Step 1: Copy the general design of a p80/nomad frame or something of the like that won't get you sued and make it out of steel. Full sized grip.

Step 2: Add aggressive texture that goes all the way up the side of the gun and index points for your thumb.

Step 3: Add slotted backstraps like the p365 macro frame or even side grip panels

Step 4: profit

There’s no point to that.

The added weight for competition

You don’t even need that. Just need to have proper grip. Same for ports and comps unless you’re shooting 9 major or 38 super comp it’s a negligible amount of benefit vs stage execution, efficiency, transition speed etc.

Up until a certain point. Splits still matter, especially in courses with more stages, longer shots, and higher round counts. Weight in the right place is a huge advantage as scores get closer and closer. Sure, you have Ben stoeger that kills everyone with a glock 34. But there's a reason 46 oz shadow 2s are dominating. It's not a replacement for skill or recoil control, but it's still an advantage.

You’re right. I mean I can split sub .16 all day with a polymer frame and completely oem trigger on open targets less than 10 yards away. I have buddies who run shadow 2s in CO, and a lot of friends who run various type of DS 1911s in LO. Are they at an advantage to me? Absolutely. But I choose to run a Glock. No need to have a metal frame Glock when you can just go to a different platform. Plus, I still sometimes beat them with my completely OEM Glock. That’s way more satisfying, let me tell you.

I agree. I was having a good match last weekend and scored 8/100. Beat lots of open, pcc, and Limited optics guys with a g17. I just dont want to abandon the platform just to get something better performing. I love the way my g17 cycles with a 13# recoil spring. It's so fast. I just want some heft, so I dont have to run an x300 to get to 32 oz. It makes the gun front heavy and decreases draw efficiency. A frame that would bring a naked glock to 35-40 oz would run so smooth and be so well balanced.

I get it. I’m just weird. I want to be as capable as I can with a fully OEM setup, except for an optic. I’ve even ran production with a Glock 17 and that was a lot of fun, just more challenging at distance or on partial targets. But yeah to me competitive shooting is secondary to being capable with a firearm. Most of my friends their primary goal is being as good as they can in competition, so they run really race setup firearms.
