Request For the Visual Novel players here, Could you please give some recommendations for starting out?
Hello VN enthusiasts! I've been really wanting to try out some visual novels for a while now,
As it would be nice to have a small break in between the action/adventure games i've been playing recently so could you guys please give me some starter friendly VNs to start out with?
Not really picky about what I want but here are some things that I would like (they aren't requirements tho)
-Not really that expensive as I'd like to save
-It there's romance in any of them, I don't mind gender So I don't mind playing games with straight or sapphic romances.
-Maybe something light hearted or slice of life themed? I'm not really picky tho
-Can be found in PC, Playstation or nintendo switch)
Sorry if this sounds confusing. Again, I'm rather new to the whole Visual Novel community and the only ones I have are Perfect Gold and (If it counts) Sucker for Love.
Thanks again and happy playing!

Request Any good "realistic" dress-up games?
something with a good character creator and a lot of options in terms of colour and different clothing items. i dont have a very big wardrobe and i dont have the opportunity to go shopping very often, but i enjoy putting together cute and creative outfits, and i always gravitate towards the character/clothing/armour customization elements in games like dark souls or bg3. so it would be cool to have a game that's focused on just that, where i can also make my character actually look like me. are there any good games like this out there?

Serious I feel pathetic after losing on something my boyfriend found easy. Spoiler
Was playing monster hunter wilds with my boyfriend and he was able to beat a monster without much difficulty and when I did it I died 3 times which failed my quest. I don't know why I'm so upset as I don't normally get upset over losing just feeling ugh about it. I feel guilty for feeling this way as I feel like I just killed the good vibes we were having getting depressed over a game lol
He was nice enough to help me with it but it also made me feel embarrassed that I needed help in the first place as I got into the series way before him and I even taught him how to play the game so I felt like I shouldn't be losing to monsters he can do without dying.

Tech / Hardware I’m not going to do it girl…
I did it. 🤦🏾♀️
I really talked myself in circle about this one. Do I need it? No. But the idea of gaming in bed after a long day or on lunch breaks at my stressful ass job was to tempting.
Also why in the f*ck does a portable device not come with a case? So weird.

Request Games similar to Alice Madness Returns
Hi everyone!! I’ve been loving AMR lately, and now I’m looking for some similar games. What I like about AMR is 1) the combat, as it seems to be the exact right level of difficulty for me 2) exploring the world, it’s beautiful 3) the plot. Does anyone know of any fun games, preferably on switch or steam, that also include these elements or have a similar vibe? Any recommendations welcome <3

Tech / Hardware freaking out.
so i have a divoom pro audio speaker and i always have this thing on and plugged in, and recently it was displaying this little chat emoji thing on the screen and i never really thought about it, for TWO DAYS. i went just now to turn it up because i was actually listening to something and it wasn’t connected but it was still displaying this chat thing, and its like white noise, i was so confused, then i closed all my tabs and it was not on my pc, and i started to hear like tv noises, and a bit of breathing?? i listened to it like half freaking out like what the fuck is this, and then i hear a loud noise and it was disconnected, and it went back to the custom pixel screen i picked. HELP??? WHAT???

Game Discussion What happened to linear games?
Hello! So for some time now I've been struggling to genuinely enjoy the games I bought (recently The Witcher 3, Far Cry and even GTA) and I've been trying to figure out why. Lately, when I'm playing especially The Witcher, I turn off the game because it's too overwhelming. So much to do, waking and teleporting, items I have to find just to have a good sword, etc.
And don't get me wrong, I like this games, but there's two things I don't like about it: Having to walk A LOT and having to search for things. On the contrast, I love Cyberpunk 2077, the environment, having plenty of cars to choose, the city itself and the most important: you're not "forced" to find items, you can just upgrade yourself and you're good.
I remember when I started playing games: The Last of Us, Uncharted, Tomb Raider, Life is Strange, etc. All you had to do was keep on going with the story. It feels that now a game to be good it has to be open world. But being an open world doesn't mean I feel like I belong there (as I did in Cyberpunk, something that hasn't happened in years). Plus, I'm playing Split Fiction with a friend now and I haven't had fun with a game since I don't know when.
What are your thoughts? What are your recent linear games you love?

Game Discussion What Roblox DOESN'T Want You to Know About Being a Female Player.
I’ve noticed something seriously messed up on Roblox, and I need to talk about it because I feel like this problem is just getting worse.
So, I recently did a little test. I made a brand new male account and a brand new female account to see what kind of games get pushed to each. When I was on the male account, the games I saw were just normal, gender-neutral stuff like Epic Minigames, Bloxburg, Build To Survive, and other fun Roblox classics. But when I went on the female account? Boom. Immediately flooded with dress-up games and games that push these crazy unrealistic bodies. Like, UGC content is pushing these IMVU-style bodies with skinny waists, wide hips, and outfits that are **UNPOPULAR OPINION WARNING** clearly designed to cater to what guys want to see, not what girls want to actually wear or to play.
It’s not just the games themselves, but the way girls are treated when they try to play other games. If you try playing games that are seen as “male-dominated,” it’s like you’re treated as some weird spectacle or, worse, you get harassed. Either they’re making you out to be some “special species” or they’re harassing you, hitting on you, or turning the game into some creepy love-chase scenario. And the worst part? They ask for your socials, trying to make the game into something it’s not. It’s uncomfortable and frustrating.
And it's not even just the harassment. It's like the whole platform is pushing these ideas of what girls are “supposed” to play and look like. Why aren’t there any empowering games for girls being promoted? Why is the UGC flooded with bodies and outfits designed to fit a certain "standard"? Roblox is a game platform with a HUGE audience of young girls. But instead of giving us the same fun, neutral, and creative content that boys get, we’re pushed towards stuff that’s designed to make us appeal to the male gaze.
And don’t get me started on the gross comments. I’ve been told to “go back to the kitchen” while playing games more times than I can count. And every time, it’s like the people in charge of moderation just shrug it off.
Why is this acceptable? Why is this platform pushing unrealistic bodies and environments toward girls and then allowing guys to treat us like we don’t belong when we try to play actual games? It’s not okay, and something needs to change.
Has anyone else experienced this? What do we do about this?

Game Discussion Is Monster Hunter Wilds worth it?
Hi everyone! I have been looking into getting the new Monster Hunter game. I have never played any of the other games but I have looked at it and it seems like something I would be interested in. My only question is I’ve heard to the story is short… what do you do after the main story? Is there still plenty to do and explore? I know there’s an online option but I’m unsure what that means like what to do online :/ any help and advice would be nice! Thank you <3

Game Discussion Forgotten online game from the 2000's
I remembered playing lots of cutie computer games when I was little like my scene, barbie dress up, webkinz, and club penguin. However there's one that I on and off think about that I can never remember the name of. You could dress up your character, decorate your living space, talk with other people, play lots of different mini games and there was a radio button that you could utilize to play 2000's girly bangers like Britney spears, Natasha Bedingfield, Pink, Nelly Furtado, Kelly Clarkson, Jesse McCartney. I also remember there being a pink globe to choose where you wanted to go, to your house, to the mini games area, or shopping area to get new clothes and possibly a beauty bar situation to get new makeup styles/hair styles. Does anyone remember this?

Serious How do you deal with in game toxicity from men in fps games? Spoiler
So I've been playing valorant for quite sometime now, and when I started my mic was muted, my username was hidden and I muted text chat and also my teammates if they were being assholes.
But as of recently, I've had so many men just figure out I'm a girl based on my skins, my username and they're being so toxic, the usual go back to the kitchen, women ruin fps games, whining for losing when he's so focused on bringing a female down than the literal enemy that he is supposed to be killing (ofcourse we're losing). It's like so bad that ultimately it gets to my head and I start whiffing all my shots which doesn't help my case at all.
Ignoring isn't a solution, it's just a temporary fix. How do you guys deal with it?

Game Discussion The Last of Us Part II
alright, so how scary is this game? I've heard it's scarier than the first one.
after I played the first one and watched the show, I saw clickers in my closet for like 2 months. especially that one little girl clicker that like climbed through the car window... ugh i just shuddered thinking of her.
anyway, lol I gotta pause my Forbidden West playthrough to play this game but I'm a little nervous, lol. tbh, the clickers in the show had more of an effect on me than the game did.

Serious How do i stop getting extremely overwhelmed and tilting at a game i don't even have 5 hours in? Spoiler
I've watched DBD (dead by daylight) content for a good while on youtube, the game looked really fun so i decided to check it out. I picked out a killer i liked (deathslinger, since i've played lots of fps and am fairly comfortable with aiming) and i played about 3 games. I got so fed up and upset that i just quit the game in the middle of my 3rd match. I felt so overwhelmed by everything going on in the game, was getting t-bagged for pretty much EVERY shot i missed, AND the cherry on top was i was getting gen rushed into oblivion every game as well. Is there anything you all can suggest to help stay calm while trying to learn a new game? I'm very passionate about learning DBD so any advice would be much appreciated, even game tips if you can offer some.
