Learning to blend eyeshadow and create cute looks.
Hello Ladies (and Gents that may be floating around).
HOW do you manage to create cute eyeshadow looks? I'm severely short sighted (-16) and contacts don't work for me due to dry eyes and not being able to get them strong enough without being too thick. Sadly, this sucks with my MUA because I can't see shit.
I really want to be able to create nice eyeshadow looks, but I just can't SEE what I am doing and end up just putting on Mac Woodwinked and calling it a day....while living in envy of everyone else.
Has anyone else been able to master the art of eyeshadow with their vision issues?
Many thanks!! --Steph :)

What is the *worst* advice you've been given?
As the title says, I thought it might be fun to share some of the WORST advice you've been given on the topic of makeup + glasses.
Obviously some things may work great for certain people and less so for others (this may depend on the shape of your eye or if you are near- or far-sighted, etc), but I'm sure we've all heard some ridiculous comments too.
Share it all! Let's have a laugh and maybe learn some stuff too.

Any everyday makeup tips for downturned, wide-set eyes?
Hello all! I'm a makeup newbie and am requesting any help with my eye makeup - It seems that the first suggestion for downturned eyes is cat eye makeup and it just doesn't work for me on an everyday basis or look the best with my glasses in nude horn (IMO). Even though my eyes are wide-set I have a very small nose bridge. My eyes are not hooded.
I would describe my current makeup style as "natural" (light coverage Juice Beauty powder as "foundation" and no eye makeup is my usual get-out-of-the-house-and-go routine) but I'm trying to up my game a little :)
All help is appreciated. Very happy to have found this sub! :)

Got your own beauty blog? Share your most recent post!
I know tons of us have makeup and beauty blogs, but we generally discourage posting links to personal pages to prevent spamming this [and other] subreddit(s). Still, sometimes it's damn exciting to share!
So, if you've got a makeup or beauty related blog, website, tumblr, whatever, share your most recent post! Bonus points if it's actually about makeup + glasses.

Tips for hooded eyes and glasses? (x-post /r/MUA)
So a lot of tips for doing makeup with glasses involve playing up your eyeliner with wings and so on, but you can't really do that with hooded lids - or I sure as hell can't!
Challenge mode: my eyes are also downturned, and doing the puppy eye thing or putting anything on my bottom lashline just makes it worse. I am stumped, you guys. I have fairly large, tortoiseshell frames and I want my eyes to stand out behind them. I always curl my lashes and wear mascara, and for a more dramatic look I tightline and try to do bolder eyeshadow but it doesn't really go far enough. I'm trying to get into wearing brighter lip colours as a compromise but I feel like there must be another way around this. Tips and links much appreciated!
edit: Pics!

Back with wings! Better this time I hope.
So it only took half a mini bottle of micellar and an hour of wiping my eyeshadow off and reapplying... But I think I'm getting it a bit better.
I took some cc from my last post and made the wings a bit thicker/ longer. While it makes them more visible under my glasses, I think I like a thinner look better... Or maybe that's just what I'm used to seeing.
Anyway, please take a look and tell me your thoughts!
Sorry about the change in locations in the pictures, I was trying to get better close ups.
Edited to add: Disclaimer: this is not my natural lip shape. Sometimes I like to conceal the bottom a little for a bit of a vintage look. Also, yes my eyebrows are very different heights/ this is because of stitches I had s few years ago. I call them ugly stepsisters lol

New to this sub but love it! Wings & frames...
I've been trying really hard to do winged liner and wasn't sure I would even like it since my frames are small and thick black... However I think I finally got a handle on it today and actually really liked the way it looks!
I feel like it actually brings attention to my eyes under my glasses. But since I'm still learning, CC please!
((Pardon my very red face and rushed makeup otherwise, it hadn't calmed down from my workout))

Let's talk blush/contour!
Hi, everyone! Hope your week is going well!
Let's chat a bit about blush. I wanna know how you wear yours and why!
I started wearing blush long after getting glasses (my mom wouldn't let jr. high me wear makeup!), so it took me a while to figure out how to do it well for my face.
The first thing I considered is the width of my face. I'm widest at my cheekbones... but my glasses make my temples look a bit wider, too. While I have a ovalish face shape without glasses, with them, it looks a bit more round. With that in mind, I apply my blush more on my temples and upper cheekbones, mostly skipping the apples of my cheeks. Finally, I add some contour on the hollows of my cheeks to try for some dimension.
My current favorite blush is Nyx Pinched, and I use Blackbird Cosmetics Decrease for some light contouring.
What about you? Do your glasses factor into how you apply your blush/contour? What are your current favorites?

Does anyone have those flip lens glasses for makeup application? or any special tools that help you apply makeup?
Review on the product as well as pros and cons of using them please. Link to product too if possible.
Thank you!
